    Staff is super friendly and they are always trying to assist the guests with a multitude of needs. Lynn at the front desk is exceptionally pleasant and always greets us with a smile

    First of all..... gave us a room that hasn't been cleaned. Then they changed it to another room. And that room got food in the freezer. I mean, I used to like going in this hotel with friends and all but this time is just not good at all.

    The girl foumd out we were pn a romantoc getaway and gave us a specoal room. The roo had a high cealing and was well appointed. Great serboice and friendly

    This hotel is nice.
    Friendly staff, nice room, etc.
    We stayed at room 119. It came with a mini fridge and microwave.
    The bathroom was ok. Nothing too fancy.
    The gym has 3 cardio machines and one with weights on it. I used it and it was fine .I had a great workout with the tools they had.
    Breakfast is included. Bread, muffins, coffee, juice, and milk. Cereal, peanut butter, jam .I mean, you can make something with what they give you.
    There is not a lot of parking for what I saw. About 15 spots maybe?
    The location is convinced. We enjoy to walk do we did it. It took us about 25 minutes to get to downtown.
    There are some restaurants at walking distance.
    There is a pool and a Jacuzzi.
    If we would get to go to SLO again I'll probably stay here again too.

    Based on the reviews I was skeptical of staying here. There's not very many on Yelp and they aren't very good. On the AAA website this place has a decent rating, so we decided to stay here. It was reasonably priced and we figured if it was terrible we could leave. I am happy to report that this place is great! The staff is all very friendly and professional. The room is a little outdated but very clean. We had a nice view from our balcony, a fridge & microwave in our room, and the bed was pretty comfy. The walls are a little thin so you can hear the neighbors slamming their doors but it wasn't too bad. They had a nice breakfast spread from 6-10. I would definitely stay again :)

    This motel is now named The Buena Vista Inn. Rooms are clean and comfortable with the room that I stayed in having a fridge, microwave, television and WiFi. Price for the room was very affordable, and it was much less expensive to inquire about a room directly with the front desk, rather than faff about with a hotel booking website. Like fifty dollars cheaper. The motel has a no smoking on the premises policy, so if you are a smoker you will need to go off the property to smoke.

    We loved the hotel, close to freeway exits, rooms are big, we had a two queen sized beds, kitchen w/micro, especially loved the comfort of beds & pillows! (Feathered pillows) which for me is most comfortable. Bathroom spacious & our room had a nice recliner & patio! We were on 3rd floor, elevator a plus! Plenty of parking (small parking garage adjacent to hotel) Hotel offers continental breakfast as well, cereal, boil eggs, toast, bagels, tray of assorted sweet breads, fruit & coffee/juice, Breakfast served in lobby which is small & narrow however hotel offers two areas for eating outside in patios, Hotel has a pool, (we didn’t use it) but walked passed it & looked good, Hotel a hidden Gem, clean & friendly staff!

    Well.....to give you all a short and sweet answer. I wish I could give them a no star review. My girlfriend and I walk into the room of this "hotel", Where we intend to spend our 1 year anniversary, and the lights don't work.....we then see a cockroach scurry around on the bed. I turn on my phone light and it goes under the sheets. Gross right. So now the manager DIANA isn't even trying to get back to me to refund both of our nights. She was extremely rude and made it seem like it was our problem that their hotel had COCKROACHES. Totally unacceptable. You want a good recommendation? Don't waist a dime there because you won't get any good hospitable service in return. We spent our vacation at the Kinney Hotel, and that place is awesome! Please note that it's down the street from the he** hotel and way better priced with double the opportunity for your family to have fun!

    I stayed in a good size room, the bed was very comfortable and I slept really well. The bathroom had been recently done up and was very nice. Pool area is very enjoyable and the hotel is in walking distance to downtown SLO. Only issue was that breakfast was very basic and minimal.

    The executive double queen room was large and decent looking. Needed upkeep. We had a room literally right next to the 101. Did not realize when we booked this. The road noise was so loud it kept us up, even with earplugs.  If anyone stays here you need to ask for a quiet room by the office. Pool area was nice.  Breakfast was in the office so there was hardly any room to even get it. Need more towels in the room as well. If you swim you won't have one to shower with. There were 3 of us and 3 towels with one washcloth.  Decent stay but super noisy!

    The room was spacious, though a little outdated; the pillows were nice and fluffy and soft. I found a few little ants crawling around the bed, which was disconcerting. What makes me write a review was my experience checking out. The person at the front desk asked me what I was up to -- not how my stay was, or I would've recalled the ants -- and when I said I was headed back to Los Angeles, he asked me what part I lived in. I said "the West side," to which he responded, with what can only be described as a knowing look: "Oh! Nice! The West side. Not the [makes gun hands and 'shoots' them twice] boom boom side of town." I didn't know what to say. I stopped and looked at him and said "I live on the West side". This kind of casual racism isn't very hospitable. Furthermore, he began to tell me all about his friends' house in the Valley (which is not LA), and frankly I was so upset about the casual racism he thought appropriate to share, I really *really* didn't want to engage. It was a very unpleasant cap on a generally ok stay. (Also the big recliner in front of the sliding door to the balcony is extraneous, impedes access to said balcony, as well as the side of the bed closest to the balcony. Why is it there?)

    Just wanted to give a review on this hotel. I rented 3 rooms for my family for the weekend for a wedding in Atascadero. Not knowing the area, I was hoping for the best!! well we arrived for our stay, and it's wasn't anything fancy.but we just needed. Place to stay for the night. Well I have to say I was so happy that it was a nice stay for my family. The rooms were very clean, the staff was very helpful. We needed to check in early to get ready for the wedding. Since we Were coming from far away. And they were so good in accommodating   us  at no extra charge. (Which was so nice) also the front desk called me to tell Me that i had left my diamond wedding ring In the room. That housekeeping staff had found it. And they would mail it to me. I was in awe, and thankful for the honest worker  that turned it into front desk, This hotel offers everything we needed. Nice place for my family to rest for the night. Clean, nice staff, I'm was happy with this stay. Thanks again " hotel buena vista! "

    This place has been renamed... And I already forgot the new name .

    *Conveniently right by freeway & gas station.
    *Close drive to downtown eating, etc.
    *The room was nice, bed very comfortable.
    *Jacuzzi just warm enough to relax in for half an hour.
    *Employees were professional and polite.
    *Dropped a star for TV remote not fully functioning correctly (no, it wasn't user error).

    It was clean, which is good. The pool looked green; we didn't go in it. The phone was unplugged, the lamp in the room didn't work, and the landscaping definitely needs to be taken care of. The staff was friendly enough though.

    Can easily recommend this place. It’s clean and it has everything you need. Rooms was spacious. Breakfast was basic, but considering it was free, I didn’t mind. Plenty of parking and service was good. We just stayed for a one night stopover as we were doing a road trip in California and for a one night stop it was a good place to stay.

    You know what, I'm going to give this hotel 5 stars because it served its purpose well and I knew what I was paying for. By no means is this a fancy hotel. It's got dated furniture, very skimpy breakfast options, and kind of thin walls. BUT, we stayed here for one night and had the best sleep. The bed was more comfortable than my bed at home. The lady that helped me at the front was very nice and I even witnessed her going above and beyond to help a stranger find their phone because it showed that the phone was somewhere in the hotel. They weren't even guests at the hotel and she was gladly helping them. The room was clean. Although dingy, there were no weird smells or stains. Not sure if all of the rooms have this but ours had a recliner! I travel a lot and have never seen a recliner in a room, but it was so comfortable especially after a long active day. (And seemed clean). We stayed here last minute and I'm glad we did! It was exactly what we needed.

    Very poor experience, dont waste your money We booked in advance for a trip which was not at height of season (Ie, During School Holidays) We called two days in advance to request cancellation but were informed this could only be done 5 days in advance, which is ridiculous. Upon arrival at the hotel address we were unable to locate the property, this caused us to drive around the street a couple of times before stopping at another hotel to ask for directions. Once again upon arrival the hotel was not there. The reason for this was because the hotel had changed names and we were not informed, despite speaking on the telephone to a representative two days earlier and receiving an email from the hotel a week before. The hotel is in need of a make over. The breakfast area and supply is not at all sufficient. Overall this was a very expensive hotel for its status.

    Cheap thin walls and walkways made for a night of no sleep. Poor management. I was told I'd be called by Diana after I complained but never heard a peep. Website lists an erroneous email address. The breakfast offered is all cheap processed foods and old fruit (think apples in June). There are a lot of great places to stay in SLO. This is not one of them.

    Dingy, old, & thin walls. You can hear everything from your room. Had a huge group checking out at 5 am that was really noisy. When I called the desk the response I got was that they'd, "try but don't think it will do any good." I doubt they really "tried" or they didn't try very hard. The room is fairly large though. And the wifi was pretty fast & reliable.

    The name change from Lexington to Buena Vista didn't seem to change anything but the name.

    Beautiful hotel. Great staff. Rooms are very clean. The property is kept up! Delicious breakfast. Tasty coffee. Best of all, great staff and good price. This property has everything I need. Refrigerator, microwave, working AC, heater, swimming pool, Jacuzzi, safe parking and bbq area!

    On our 2 week west coast road trip, this was our favorite night's stay. The staff who checked us in and out were genuinely friendly and helpful. The room was clean, roomy and lovely.

    Room 321 was a bit dated & toilet fan integrated with light was incredibly noisy . But room was huge & comfortable. Pretty good sized fridge & kitchen counter. Comfortable. Hotel in the midst of ownership change so Lexington Inn signage partially obscured with new name....

    The linens were nice, the room & property were clean, the swamped desk clerk handled the crush with aplomb and was helpful. A quiet room was requested & provided. A closer look at the curtains is in order. Early check in was requested so after a long drive to attend a memorial service we could freshen up & change clothes. The reply to this request came promptly, however, the best they could say is "we'll try", which, under the circumstances, was disappointing, particularly as it informed what time we departed. Given that their check out time is 12pm and a 1:30 or 2pm check in time was requested it didn't seem like such a difficult accommodation.

    Nice hotel. Rooms were good and comfy. The jacuzzi was also nice. Breakfast was decent.
    They say they have a gym, but you can’t really call it since there’s nothing but few old equipment. Location is good really close to SLO downtown.

    Wow, what an complimentary treat! Paid over $200 for this small tight smelly room. They were so nice we even got an ADA Accessible room which we hate occupying. Requested for for another room and front desk telling us after checking in at 4:30 pm check-in time all rooms were full. Got the feeling the front desk did try although he was polite. We were also lucky enough not to get a simple bar of soap telling us there is a back order. Dimly lite room, and short of outlets. Bed was comfortable. Did not use the shower since the ADA fixtures were intimitating to use. Parking stalls were few and narrow. Nice wifi and TV. I cannot agree with any reviews higher than 2. I will not return after paying over 200. BYE bye for the accommodation.

    I was in the area for 3 days 2 nights just as a quick solo getaway. I would be spending most of the day exploring, so just wanted somewhere clean and safe to sleep at night. The Lexington in was exactly what I needed. Good location...just about a mile drive from the downtown area bars and restaurants, and right across the street from the cutest restaurant called the Apple Farm (loved the country decor and everyone there was so friendly!!) The guy who checked me in was really nice and funny (I forgot his name...but best of luck with nursing school!!). The room was very clean, did really see any chipped paint or residue of any type anywhere. The mattress was very comfortable!! Good sleep both nights! Good price...didnt want to spend a lot of money each night, so this was a good deal. AND PARKING IS ALREADY INCLUDED! My 4 stars is because when people where talking outside on the balcony or in the next room, I could hear them a little bit louder than I'd like. But luckily they were not loud for very long, so I quickly got over it. Overall, if you are not wanting to pay $100+ per night and just want a clean straightforward place to sleep for a night or two, pick this place!!

    Personnel sympathique, parking gratuit, bien situé. Bonne literie, petit déjeuner de courtoisie ok, chauffage très bruyant. Parfait pour 1 ou 2 nuits, équipements et sdb pas très moderne mais ça va. Bon rapport qualité prix.

    I wish I could give zero stars! Brian and Chris have the customer service skills of a wounded Rhesus monkey and both surprise me by being able to stay alive by remembering to breath! Chris had snot hanging from his nose and I had to point this out to him! Chris told me my room had to be cleaned twice a week otherwise I would be charged $100 because the last nurse that stayed was NASTY! WTH? I cant believe these two are allowed to continue working here! I will be filing a formal complaint about how awful they truely were!! I have included a photo of the lovely kitchenette area below.

    We've stayed here many times over the years and always find it clean, comfortable, and convenient... Close to the Cal Poly campus, not far from downtown, and easy to find right off Hwy 101... The accommodations are basic, no-frills, and affordable... All positives in my book !!

Nos servimos do cafe numa bancada montada na recepção e sentamos com os pratos de copos nas poltronas da recepção. Quartos confortaveis e muito bons, tem cozinha montada dentro do quarto.

    WONDERFUL executive room. Bad service though, as you have to serve yourself & carry your baggage & do your laundry. Very poor breakfast; almost doesn't exist. Lights are put off on the second floor corridors which seems unsafe. Pet unfriendly.

    Just a basic walk-in, spend the night and leave hotel! It's clean and has breakfast in the morning! So, yeah, good for a halt if you get it at a low price! Remember to carry your water bottles. They don't provide any in the room, not even upon request!

    Great price, easy to book, great location, beautiful big room with everything I needed! Extremely quiet and breakfast is delicious. Love that they have coffee 24 hours a day. Best of all, the staff is beyond helpful!

    Booked online through their website for our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids). Got to the hotel to check in and they said they were charging us an extra $10 per kid. I was never given a confirmation email so I couldn't go back to see exactly what my money and original deposit was for. When I went back to their website it doesnt even give you the option to choose how many people in the room, just says room occupies 4 people and the room price. What a scam!

    I never even stayed at this hotel and booked it through booking.com. When I booked it I picked the wrong date and called them the next day to fix it. They were not able to refund me and made me pay the entire hotel stay cost. I will never use booking.com or stay at this place.

    Right off the road, very clean, bright room, lovely bathroom, spacious. Staff helpful and pool was refreshing. Disappointed that the hot tub wasn't working properly and no light around pool after dark.

    La relación calidad precio me pareció de lo mejor que encontré durante mi viaje por california (Llegue a varios Inn y hostales de carretera) También me sorprendió encontrar un recepcionista amable y con ganas de explicarte y ayudarte con información. La habitación y banio amplios y cómodos. En el desayuno (varios Inn lo ofrecen y es bastante básico) se noto un poco mas de esfuerzo y dedicación (ojo que igual es un desayuno básico).

    Nice people. Large clean comfortable well equiped room in most respects. When I walked in bad smell and TV didn't work; both remediated. Building is old so gap under door (rolled up a towel and blocked) and need a charger that plugs into wall. Good breakfast with hard boiled eggs and great scones included.

    My experience was so bad, it is funny. Everything is broken. - I turned on the hair dryer and it didn't blow air, but did immediately turn bright red and start smoking. - I unplugged it and ran over to the phone to call the front desk. Phone is completely dead. - So I walked down to the front desk. They gave me a new wall mounted style hair dryer to use, but just kind of shrugged about the phone. - So I went back to my room to relax. TV was broken. Used my cell to call the front desk and she got it to work by rebooting it. - I brought a mini bag of popcorn to watch a movie and relax. The microwave is some Playskool piece of shit. It burnt a hole in the bag and started smoking but only popped a handful of the kernels. Had to go outside to throw it away. - In the morning I tried to eat some of the leftover pizza I had cleverly saved to spare myself a shitty continental "breakfast". The mini fridge froze the pizza. It was on the bottom shelf, as far from the freezer flap as possible. - Considering two of the above situations caused smoke and the alarm never sounded, I am going to assume it is also broken. I didn't even try to coffee maker. I assume it would have summoned a demon or something. The people who worked there were super nice and the room seemed pretty clean to the naked eye, but I don't think I'll stay here again if I can avoid it.

    Pros: comfy bed (if a bit soft), lovely outdoor pool and jacuzzi, easy access from 101, EV charging, reasonable rates. Across the street from the lovely Apple Farm. Recycling bins. I chose this hotel specifically because I needed an overnight charge on my way to LA, and I made it clear to Chris, the clerk who took my reservation and who checked me in, that I *needed* the charge. Cons: Mediocre breakfast, bad coffee, and terrible service. A $15 fee for EV charging - but the EV charger's power is regularly turned off (that's a con, in and of itself - folks, electricity is cheap), and when I discovered in the morning that it had mysteriously turned off in the middle of the night, the front clerk didn't know how to fix it. When she finally found someone who could get it turned on again, that woman was almost rude to me. No one offered me a refund for the (lack of) charging. The layout of the hotel is also very confusing - there are two separate virtually identical buildings, each with three floors, but they are not connected. The lobby is in one building - the garage is in the other. Chris told me none of this when I checked in, so I ended up wandering around in the dark for 20 minutes looking for my room before finally finding it.

    Nice place. We had a very spacious room.The Executive Queen. I loved how clean it was! The furniture needs updating.Great hair dryer.
    Nice to have small refrigerator w/freezer. Good value for the price! We would stay here again. Just don't expect fancy. I'll take really clean over fancy any day!

    Went to San Luis Obispo to pack our son up and move him back home to Chicago. We thought we were staying in a “small and quaint” hotel. While the staff was wonderful, our room left much to be desired. The beds were comfortable, and that was the only benefit. The room smelled like urine and mold. As we were staying 4 nights (my wine had to finish his last week of work), I purchased Lysol and air fresheners. I sprayed the shower, shower curtain, bathroom floor, and other areas of our room. Nothing seemed to help. As I have terrible allergies, I ended up getting sick. The room refrigerator was stuck on the coldest temperature, so everything we put in was frozen. I would suggest a different hotel.

    This place was not as advertised. We chose it because the photos in the description had a scenic setting and the rooms had balconies for folks to sit out and enjoy the landscape. Here are pictures of the balcony and 'beautiful' view. You decide.  I won't stay here again.

    After decades of visiting SLO, I am thrilled to have identified the perfect "go-to" place - for value, comfort, and above all, service! Our family had reservations for the busy Labor Day weekend. Good night of sleep, largely in part from attentive front office and back office support team. Be forewarned about minimum night stays for holidays and peak travel seasons.

    They have good size rooms with kitchen in it, large tv, bath is small but considering size of room it is OK, price is very reasonable.  People are very nice and polite, room service is sporadic and some times they do not even show up at all, happened twice during my 2 week stay, manager is nice lady, she apologized but I do not know if this issue was fixed, I never went back.

    Absolutely no complaints about The Lexington Inn. We were in SLO for my boyfriend's college orientation and initially I was worried that the prices on rooms would spike because of said orientation - to my surprise I saw that the Lexington had King rooms available for $89 a night so I called in to book right away. Easy, streamline check-in at 4pm with friendly front desk staff. They have a pool, little seating areas outside around the Inn and when we got to our room it had a kitchen that I had no idea about which was a great perk! The tv had a pretty decent amount of channels so we got to watch a couple movies and a Law and Order SVU marathon :) It really was a great value for the price, ($301 for 2 nights taxes included) nothing too flashy or fancy but it was clean, comfortable, with working AC and our room felt private because it was on the first floor around the back of one of the buildings. Check out was even easier and the free breakfast in the morning with various cereals, juices, breads, pastries and coffee was a nice little pick me up.

    I stayed at the Lexington In - San Luis Obispo as an overnight guest would say I was was very satisfied my stay. The Lexington while tucked away, is easily accessible from the freeway. The rooms are not modern but are more than suitable. Room service is quick and easy and overall the inn provides just about everything an overnight guest needs and for very reasonable prices.

    A great place to stay. It is easy to find is near many restaurants. The rooms are very clean and tidy and the service there is amazing with great receptionists. The continental breakfast isn't bad and the pool is clean. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for somewhere to stay overnight.

    We stayed at the Lexington last month on a family trip to California. We chose the Lexington because it had high ratings and was more affordable than other options. I accidentally booked the room incorrectly and we only had one room instead of two and because they were sold out, we had to get a last minute room at motel 6 for $270!!! The Lexington staff, facilities, facilities, and pricing was so much better than where the rest of the family had to stay at the other hotel. Even though it is an older hotel it was clean and well maintained and the continental breakfast had great local coffee. Plus the management was kind enough to refund me when I messed up on the reservation. We will stay here if we are ever back in SLO & you should stay here too!

    Good location, just a mile from downtown with super friendly, helpful staff.

    I arrived several hours before check in time with my bike which I could not leave unattended, and they were able to switch my room from 2 queens (which I didn't need) to a room with a king bed on the bottom floor which was available immediately. This was A HUGE bonus as I was on my way to job interview, and had no way to lock my back to the bike rack on my car. The bedroom window faced a little mini garden of sorts-basically nice landscaping on a retaining wall, giving a very peaceful, secluded feel.

    I was also given great tips on where to ride and eat, along with some cool and unusual evening hang out suggestions, and local tid bits of info about surrounding areas should I end up moving here.

    My room, though basic, was clean, spacious, and comfortable, and up to date. I would definitely stay here again.

    very good value for the money considering the area. i will stay here again. breakfast only had one protein, boiled eggs, which is all i needed but they ran out on Monday morning before 9:15ish. great staff-provided extra towels when needed and switched one of our rooms when needed. standard hotel with mixed reviews from people in my group--three reservations and all three rooms were clean, a bit dated but decent, no odors, no sign of bugs, very comfy beds. 1) king suite had a full kitchen, sitting room with tv, and a separate bedroom. generally happy with the room but the heavy curtains didn't close right so the room didn't get dark enough and the light curtains were missing. also, large gap under the door let in more light. 2) queen room was very small and extremely noisy thru the night--staff was able to change rooms for 2nd night, which made things right. my travel companion was very happy with the new queen room. 3) accessible king room had an awesome shower--so perfect that i planned to measure every dimension so i could recreate it in my home but didn't have the time (see picture). the furniture placement (especially near the doorway) was not well-planned for ada considerations. sorry i forgot to take a picture of that. but notice the robe hook at the very top of the door (see picture)--who could reach that from a wheelchair/scooter? why didn't they put it in the middle of the door where it could double as an accessible handle? that said, i was very happy with this room overall. the pool area was standard, clean, enjoyable.

    The front desk was understaffed at most likely a busy part of the late afternoon, early evening. The clerk managed as well as he could and maintained a friendly, patient attitude. Kudos to him. The room was comfortable and clean. A little updating would do it wonders. All the staff was friendly and helpful.

    Easy access to freeway & downtown. Parking lot is very small but there is usually street parking. Variety of breakfast foods but no "hot" foods other than toast & oatmeal. Room has a fridge & microwave. Bed is springy & pillows are quite fluffy & soft, therefore bring your own if you prefer a more firm pillow (like I do). All in all, a pleasant stay in a pleasant area. I'm not sure how much the area changes when school is in session so I may update this review if I stay in the area again.

    I was pleasantly surprised. Great location. Very clean rooms. Very friendly staff. Great continental breakfast. Loved having fridge and microwave in room. The room was very spacious and it had a true king size bed. The bed was a little too soft for me, but that is just my preference. There wasn't enough outlets and has a little trouble with tv, but once we knew the tricks to working it it was great. Small bathroom but very clean. We stayed on 3rd floor and it was great having an elevator instead of just stairs. We will definitely book here again next time we're in San Luis Obispo.

    This is one of the worse inn I ever stayed at. The staff was nice indeed but everything else was a disaster!! I don't know where to start; the room looked like nothing the one advertised in the the ad. The only window was right by where everyone walked by and the 2 tour buses of guests started walking by at 6am with no respect for anyone else's need to sleep. The ice machine was out of order, same goes for the elevator. Wait, the breakfast was good as well, besides the rude guests smoking and being rude to the staff , just because. For our second night, we asked to be moved to a different room, away from the obnoxious guests and we got a ground floor room (ADA approved room) and if we were disabled we would have been upheld by the room. Dark, outdated, the water pressure was non existent and the shower floor was all cracked. Again, the staff did their best to accommodate us but I feel it is up to the owners to make the changes necessary to at least make it look like the brochure pictures.

    We came into town for a concert at Avila beach with another couple. We stayed at Lexington Inn for two nights, and I have to say we were pleasantly surprised. We checked in and requested to have rooms next to our friends.  The girl at the front desk was very friendly and accommodating and got us reins together in the back building. This is the building to stay in! My boyfriend's and my room was huge. We had two queen beds, a huge bathroom with vanity area and a walk-in closet. The pool was great. We had it to ourselves the whole time. It was very clean and lagoon-like, however a bit small. Just right for our group of four. The rates were very reasonable even on a busy weekend in SLO. i would definitely stay here again.

    The rooms are nice and the staff is friendly. That being said, even though I stayed here briefly there were a few things that prevented this from being a 5 star review. The first thing that particularly bugged me was that this place has almost NO parking. We had to find a spot on the street to park. The second issue was the continental breakfast is very small. It is in the lobby and only about 10 guests can fit there at once and the options are small as well.

    The hotel room was clean and spacious. The reception guy was very helpful.We selected this hotel because it was nearest to the San luis obispo station. They have free breakfast and wifi. Ample of parking space and next to a gas station which was added bonus for us.

    Whoa!!! Great place to stay. Very quiet and affordable. My family and I just decided to escape the Central Valley heat (103 degrees for 2 days...yea F that) and I told my girl to pack a bag Bc were going to The Beach. Called this hotel and they were more than hospitable!! Great service and friendly staff. Ask for Chris and Daisy. They were great to deal with. Made our stay very pleasant. Oh did I mention it's right off the freeway!!!

    Celan no frills room, in SLO. Wont say the breakfast was great but you have a lot of choices nearby. Comfortable bed, outdated bathroom and and provided toileteries were average in quality. Can't complain much but its okay for a quick stay on our journey along CA-1

    Attended SLO's graduation ceremony on 6/17/18 and needed emergency hotel accommodations when our Air B&B did not work out. Luckily, Lexington Inn had a room with two beds. I thinks we got the last room in town that night. The lobby clerks were absolutely wonderful! Very personable and friendly and very welcoming. That's really the only nice thing I can say about the Inn. The  grounds of the Inn were not maintained well. Landscape consisted of dying plantings. There were rundown items such as an old rusty looking BBQ grill and rundown picnic table. Turned over planter pots and other such items just left laying around. The curtin in our room was partially hanging off the rod. Our room faced the back of the Inn. All we could see was overrun and dead foliage and an old shed with tools strun around. The mini fridge and microwave sat on top of an old wooden structure that was nailed to the wall and looked very unsightly. There was an old oversized lounge chair that was way to large for the space. It did not need to be in there. The bed was hard as a rock and so were the pillows. We stayed two nights, two nights to many. All that said, we were grateful Lexington Inn was able to accommodate us in our hour of need. It was bearable but I would not purposely book a room at this inn.

    I travel alot and this is the first time this horrible hotel ask for too many stuff in order to get the room, the process is long, and the lady that was helping me out said that i have to check out at 8:00am and most of the hotel that i've been in is at 11:00am, I asked her what time is the breakfast time, she said from 6:00am to 10:00am i told her, how's that i have to check out at 8:00am and breakfast last til 10:00am? And she said that she said it because she didn't know what she was saying, after that she told me she was going to charge me $100 deposit plus the amount that it was the room $80, never ever in other hotels they charge the whole amount $180 deposit plus the room price, what holiday inn does is charge the room and leave the card open, if they found that the room was damaged by the customer they charge the $100, Worst experience ever don't recommend this hotel, not even the holiday inn that is a good hotel ask for too many things to stay with them, what kind of hotel is this?

    We recently blocked 6 rooms for the whole extended family for a Cal Poly graduation. Everybody loved the place. Complementary breakfast every morning. Nothing fancy, but rooms were large and clean and surprisingly noise free despite proximity to 101 freeway close by. We had a late night bash with over a dozen people making lots of noise. Nobody complained and I was surprised that I couldn't hear the commotion from down the hallway. On past visits my wife always insisted we stay at the pricey Apple Farms across the street. Now I think we will stay at the Lexington for almost half the price without sacrificing any quality. Staff was really friendly and helpful.

    We have stayed at Lexington 2 times in the last 3 months. I chose to come back because it's right off of 101 freeway; continental breakfast + WiFi provided. In my opinion it's worth the price. My only negative comment is that rooms on the 1st floor don't have a lot of natural sun, so I'd suggest 2nd and 3rd floor.

    It was nice, got the executive suit, came with a king sized bed, a recliner, a nice desk with comfortable desk chair, a plasma tv and dresser. Also had a mini fridge, a microwave, and coffee pot. Comfortable bed with 2 sliding glass doors.

    My experience was fine, in line with what I expected for the cheaper price. Convenient location right off the freeway. One outlet in the room wasn't working. Had a lot of noise from other guests outside my room in the morning, as it was near the eating area for the breakfast, but earplugs worked fine to address it. Mattress was in need of replacement, one side drastically broken in more than the other. Employees were great, knowledgeable and helpful with my requests. Hot tub wasn't very hot.

    I stayed in a king queen suite and did not expect the double oven full range with sink and home sized fridge! Luxiorious doesnt even begin to describe the space and comfort on top of having a hot tub open late. 10/10 would stay again.

    I'm a federal employee, I booked this room through my federal travel agency. In town for a few days for work. Pulled up and it was pretty small, not much parking but then again, most hotels in this area are like that. When I booked the room, I selected a king size bed, not the case when I went up. The room was tiny with a full size bed, no closet and the bathroom had literally no space to move. The trash cans had no bags on them. The tv was super small and tucked in the corner. Ac made a weird noise at night and wouldn't stay on consistently. Best pet about the stay was how thin the walls are. You could literally hear every word that was said next door, including him bangin his gf. I had booked through Sunday but I was so over staying here I actually checked out Saturday afternoon in order not to spend another night here. As a government employee, they're not supposed to tax me either, not the case again. Wasn't going to argue as the lady didn't even ask how my stay was. I've stayed in the area before and for 327 bucks for a shack for 3 nights 4 days, you can do way better. Never again.

    Pleased with our stay. Room 316. Daisy is a sweetheart. Price was right. Location was right. Walls are thin and doors slam hard ha! But a very pleasant stay. Glad I took a chance and booked here. Be prepared to answer a lot of questions at check in. In addition to your reservation cost, there will be 100$ hold placed on your card.

    Pretty good for the price. A little farther from town than most hotels but it is only about 1-1.5 mike walk to most of the downtown area. The continental breakfast was good and goes until 10:00 am, coffee available all day. There is a pool and jacuzzi, but the jacuzzi was not very warm at all. The shampoo provided is a 2 in 1 shampoo conditioner and is not the greatest if you're picky about that kind of thing.

    The rooms are pretty nice for being a small looking hotel for a decently low price. We payed around $110 for a two queen room, one of the beds were located in their own room which was nice. There was an extra sink which was also nice. They had all the usual anemities as most places have.

    I will start this off admitting that I am very upset with this hotel, however I am obligated to review it fairly which is what I will do.  I will update this review as the night progresses. The reason we are here tonight is because my big thumb accidentally pressed Saturday instead of Friday on bookings.com. I was trying to book a hotel room for last night Friday night for my wife and her friend to stay down here after they went to a concert.  When I noticed that I booked the wrong date I immediately called bookings.com to ameliorate the situation.  They were amazing and called the property immediately where they were told that DIANA the manager refused to let us cancel the reservation stating that the cancellation fee is the full price of the room fee.   I did get some good information from the person who checked us in when she told me to find my hotel room on bookings.com and then call the property because they'll work with us better if you don't go through bookings.com because they charge them a $15 fee every time somebody books through them.   So that was great information I'm not sure that bookings.com would be happy to hear that hotels are telling people this. The room leaves a lot to be desired it's smells funny it's very narrow almost difficult to get through between the beds and the walls. The television is like a micro TV, take a look at the pictures it's so far away from the bed and so small it's not usable.  Perhaps they should provide binoculars at the bedside.  But that doesn't really matter because the sound doesn't work. They are supposed to be on their way over to fix that now. We have what looks like a very dangerous electrical cord situation going on where they have a extension with 5 different appliances plugged into it to include coffee pot, television, microwave, refrigerator, and lamp all going into the just one plug.  I will have the fire marshal alerted to that so they can check up and make sure that they're legal.  It just looks like a fire hazard. Oh the bathroom is super cute, but has a nice big hole in the shower curtain noted in the picture I took.

    Rooms were nice I would have gave it a five star but my stay was awful! The first night I was booked next to a room of high school girls who would not go to sleep and keep me up all night long. I didn't complain and figured they would be leaving so why fuss. However the next day they re-booked the room next to me full of high school boys! Then around 11pm these boys were also in the room above me jumping and running around. So I called the office and the front desk didn't seem to care at all and were slightly rude. After another hour had passed the teen boys next to me were so loud I could here them over a fan and my TV I called the front desk and a lady named "Daisy" helped me and was by far the nicest person I spoke to and was able to take care of the situation. However by 2am I was woken up again by these boys and once again called the front desk and was helped by a nice gentleman. So over all my whole vacation I was able to get no sleep! When I asked for a discount checking out due to my vacation being rather rough there she just laughed at me! So yea I will never go here again. Its not worth the money if teen guests have no rules and your getting no sleep.

    Lexington was a Day's Inn many years ago, so it has always been budget oriented. Not a lot of personality. It is clean, well appointed, has a great location, comfortable beds, and a continental breakfast with cereals, fruit, pastries, bagels, juice and coffee. There are several different room types. a few configurations are quite odd. The workout room is minimal, with one tread mill and one recumbent bike, but I use that as an excuse to sleep in. Overall, it fits our needs and we have stayed there about 9 times in the past 6 years. The rates are a great value and the front desk personnel has always been nice.

    I just left from another enjoyable stay at the Lexington Inn in San Luis Obispo. The first time I stayed there was June of 2017. Now it is late-(ish)January of 2018. Both stays were quite comfortable, enjoyable, and I think a good value for the money. The first time I think I paid about $90 per night during the week and about $110 for one weekend night. Which is a pretty good rate, not only for San Luis Obispo but especially considering for what you get! The first time I stayed there, I had a really great room: clean, cozy, and comfortable, with a little kitchenette comfy bed and private patio. I also really appreciate & enjoyed the included breakfast. Totally decent! Various kinds of toast/bread with several spread options, four kinds of cereal, a bowl of oranges and apples, hard boiled eggs, and coffee and  several options of  nice tea. I also enjoyed having the small pool and Jacuzzi! This past visit that I just came from, I found an amazing rate online for about $70 per night during the week. The room was not as nice as before (but then again I was paying a lower rate this time), and still I was still quite pleased. No private patio and no kitchenette  but still had a microwave and mini fridge and everything again was clean, enjoyable and a comfy bed.  I also really thought the front desk staff were nice. Daisy checked me in and I chatted with her both of the two nights I was there and then I spoke to two different day desk people (Pragna was one but I can't remember the other one's name) who were also very helpful and friendly.  I will definitely stay there again and recommend the Lexington Inn. P.S. - They also had a very small exercise room (which I didn't use of course - vacation mode!) And I also wanted to mention that I loved as I was snuggling up in the bed every night or using the towels that there is slight smell of bleach which I love because it makes me feel like they were very clean (no funky Hotel issues here!), and they were. No stains or funky smell and they were new and fluffy. It also is worth mentioning that the first time with the more amenities room I was in the back building, and this more recent visit with the lesser priced  (but still totally decent) room I was in room 314.

    I'm throwing stars at these guys for offering $50 rooms to Thomas Fire evacuees. Good on them. They're even accepting pets during this time. That should raise their star value imho. Helpful staff, friendly and easy.

    I have stayed here about 3 times a year for the past 6 years. The accommodations themselves are fantastic, with large rooms that are well cleaned. The front-desk staff... not so much. The last few staff members I've spoken with or interacted with in 2017 have been inept, slow and inefficient, rude, repetitive, plus a woman who tried to explain to me that my experiences with the hotel couldn't possibly be real. Overall, each interaction has left a bad taste in my mouth. Won't be back.

    Pool wasn't well maintained, and hot tub had large water beetles that lived inside of the jets (probably why they didn't work). Breakfast wasn't great but wasn't the worst. Overall alright experience, but would probably recommend looking elsewhere if continental breakfast and hot tubs are big selling points for you when picking a place to stay.

    눇Overall, the location was amazing and the staff was very friendly and nice. The location, as I mentioned, was great and the parking was abundant. Once they found out we are with a one year old baby, they put us in the very corner of the back building. It was good for privacy, I understand the reason they did it, although my child is not fussy and destructive. However, the room was not clean at all. The drapes were visibly dirty, the bed skirt had not been changed in how long, and the sheets did not really smell clean. I had to call and ask them to change the pillowcases because two of the pillowcases had stains on them. It was my understanding that the room had not been used in a very long time. Which is fine; however, at least clean and prepare knowing that you have a family traveling with a small child. I had to use my own blankets and sheets because I was seriously disgusted. For the price I paid for the hotel, nearly $200 a night, the room was not well maintained at all! The breakfast was good on Sunday, it was fresh. but on Monday morning it was not fresh at all. It was all leftovers, even the eggs, which I did not even want to try. Overall this hotel wasn't as decent as I expected and it is way overpriced.

    The Lexington Inn was a perfect location for our Parents Weekend with our daughter at Cal Poly. We were less than 5 minutes away from the campus and very close to downtown SLO. The room was a bit worn, but very clean with nice towels and sheets. Otherwise, a basic room. We only interacted with the staff at check in and check out.

    My friends and I stayed here for a long weekend girls trip with half the group coming up from SoCal and the rest of us from the SF Bay area. The Lexington Inn is a quaint inn with a wonderful location in SLO. It is not particularly nice or clean, but is by no means a dirty place. I would say it is average, which is why I have rated it that way. It gets the job done for a reliable getaway in SLO. The pool and hot tub were open until 10PM, but not lit after dark, so it was a little hard to see where you were going. Also, the pool and hot tub area did not seem very clean. Overall, we liked this place, but we won't be very eager to return.

    Hotel room was very spacious and clean. Receptionists were all very friendly. We were there for my son’s tennis tournament and the entire tournament was so behind the page schedule. So I requested to extend our check-out time and they gave us complimentary two our extension on Sunday. It was so helpful. Wish breakfast menu had more variety.

    Where do I start! Room had a strong smell of mold and mildew. Everything mismatched. Bathroom sink was backed up, towels stained. Bed squeaky and uncomfortable. If you needed to plug in something you had to move furniture to find it and unplug what was there to use. Doing maintenance on the room next to me for 2 days and they told me I just have to deal with it. I was also told to take my service dog down the street to do her business.(even though I clean it up). We had crickets in our room and a rat outside my door. We were with other people staying there at the same time and they used a whole can of air freshener because of the smell. Never again!

    Great location... nice patio to relax and chat and have a bit to eat. Views of hills all around. For larger breakfast, restaurant across street has even better views of hills. Simple, basic rooms and trolley takes you right downtown to SLO.

    I was going to SLO for a one night, weekend get-away. This was well priced and had the 2 queen beds I wanted. I wanted a first floor room and ended up with a room by the pool which was great. It was mostly quiet, a few late night door slams but no loud parties. Mary at the front reception desk was really nice and friendly. If there was breakfast in the morning, I missed it but there was hot coffee and a nice patio area with tables, chairs and umbrellas to sit and relax. I would definitely stay here again.

    This is my go to place when visiting my daughter at Cal Poly. I feel like I get big bang for my bucks here. Location very close to campus, love the trolley to downtown on Thursday nights and so easy to get to off the freeway. Also, really good coffee in the lobby all day/night long!

    This hotel is close to campus and fine for what we needed; taking our daughter to Cal Poly. its clean and quiet and has the basics, but not much more. It is close to a freeway off ramp which you can definitely hear if your windows are open, but the traffic dies down fairly early. Fine for the price.

    Staff was friendly, room was clean and very nice. The only reason I took off 1 star was because for a room with 2 beds should be able to have at least 4 guests. They however charged us for and extra person for my husband, my son and I. We found that a little weird but other than that it was great.

    Our one night stay was very nice. Our rooms were very roomy and clean. The only thing that was disturbing was a domestic dispute between a couple. the gentleman was yelling Nicole and knocking on several doors looking for her. This continued to the parking lot and she jumped in the truck and attempted to run him over but he kept yelling so she stopped and let him in. They left and it was quite again. All in all it was a nice place to stay. Would stay here again.

    Read good reviews before booking, but did not have the same experience. Yes, the room is clean. The room is very old looking, however. The beds sag, and the one my son slept in had very squeeky springs. Every time he moved I heard the noise from the springs. This is a motel, and the noise from people above us was very loud. We have a room (unfortunately I have another night here) right by the pool. People going up and down the outside stairs to the pool sounded very loud, since they were metal steps. Lots of noise from the stairs, and from those above us woke me up constantly through the night. My bed did not make noises, thankfully, but it was very saggy and not comfortable at all. The person at the desk was nice. Purchased this because it was a lower price and read good reviews, however, I very much regret that decision now that I didn't get much sleep and am sore from the bed.

New carpet, flooring, granite countertops, and the shower, bathroom, everything was super clean. The towels were 5 star hotel quality. The thick plush oversized ones. The air conditioning unit worked so well, that I had to get up at 3am to turn it off. The room we stayed in was very roomy. 2 queen beds with the little kitchenette area, was perfect for our little family of 4. The complimentary breakfast was pastry donut type stuff, which isn't bad. This is going to be our #1 go to place whenever we visit SLO. I highly recommend Lexington Inn.

    Simple and clean hotel. Front desk person was courteous and helpful when we checked in Saturday afternoon and checked out Sunday morning (two different ladies). Room was clean, beds were comfy and AC worked great! Kids loved the pool and we were able to chill in the hot tub before heading to bed. It's nothing fancy but if you're looking for clean and simple, this hotel fits. Continental breakfast was good too. Will be back on our next visit to SLO.

    Though it's just an inn, but the overall look and cleanliness are exceeding our expectation. Good facilities and good free breakfast options as well. We love the view of the mountain in front of the hotel. Just if the reception can be a bit more friendlier, it will be perfect.

    We typically stay in more well-known places, but shopped around for prices and spent 4 nights here. It was a great place for a reasonable price in SLO and close to Cal Poly and several eating places. Clean, quiet, decent breakfast, and I like the layout of the room with the sink outside the bathroom to get ready to go quicker. The neighborhood was quiet and my kids and I felt safe. Any time we are in SLO, I'll stay here.

    The staff were amazing, especially Diana. I appreciate the pool and fitness room too. It is a minor point, but i wish that the treadmill did not feel so "delicate". It could stand to be replaced. But other than that, we really enjoyed our stay! I will definitely stay here again if I'm in town.

    Lovely town. Hotel clean, well run and handily placed for on/off access to highway. Walking distance to town centre. Rooms serviced daily, pool small but adequate. In its price bracket, I'd say excellent value for money.

    Nice size space and close to the college. Our room appeared to be in the process of being painted and was not completed before we utilized the room which made it a little "musky" for the first day. I just purchased air fresheners and that solved the trick.

    My experience here was great!! Diana and Linda were beyond helpful and their customer service skills were outstanding!! family arrived here late Saturday afternoon with no reservation on a holiday weekend after immediately checking out of the hotel we had booked for the night (the PREVIOUSLY RESERVED  hotel DOWN THE STREET was totally UNACCEPTABLE... DIRTY and GROSS and SEVERELY OVER PRICED). The room we got HERE at the LEXINTON is clean... bright and very spacious.  The room looks just as pictured on the website if not better.  Maria and Diana had several other families to check in at the time of our arrival. They were polite and knowledgeable and efficient. My questions were answered with a smile and I  was given great guidance for navigating around the area efficently. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL as their rooms are clean and comfortable at a reasonable price!!

    The vibe of the hotel was pleasant and quaint. Swimming pool was a little shaded and the rooms had a home sort of feeling. There was a small kitchen with microwave and cupboards, sink and fridge. The balcony made me feel like I was in an apartment, although my room was all the way in the back part of the hotel and the view was partially the freeway and otherwise heavily shaded by trees. I was hoping to be a little closer to downtown but the walk wasn't terrible. The Continental breakfast wasn't bad. Overall I wouldn't be opposed to staying again, it was a unique experience.

    Trip was to check out Cal Poly for our son starting in the fall. Front desk very nice but the hotel is older and needs to be upgraded. Loved that the windows opened but kept them closed because the screen was ripped. Mattress had no support which made for a very uncomfortable night. It is close to hwy 101 so it was very noisy

    Only hours after having placed a reservation with this establishment I found out my trip would not be possible to carry through. Despite my polite letter to the management explaining my position, any refund was denied. This was about two weeks before my planned stay and the hotel still advertises rooms at a rate over 30 % lower than the rate I am forced to pay. It feels as a mockery when booking.com informs me I should rest assured that my room has been canceled as the hotel still charges me 100 % of the rate. Why bother to cancel? This is really a pathetic way to earn money. Since I am a full rate paying customer I think I should be entitled to get my voice heard about this establishment, despite not staying there, just sending them more than 200 dollars for absolutely nothing. This should be considered criminal in my view.

    My husband and I both made reservations for this place by accident the night before our arrival without realizing it. When we checked in they saw both reservations and still charged us for both - less than 24 hours after the reservations were made. They were not willing to do anything other than to happily accept our money. No discussion, They didn't even have the courtesy to return any of our calls (great customer service :( We would have even taken a credit  - anything - as we have a child in college in SLO - so we stay there often. The inn is surrounded by other lodging options so there are many other options in the area. I'm surprised at the arrogance and disappointed in the customer service at this place.

    My husband and I had the pleasure of staying here Saturday night. It was a date night for us, the hotel is perfect, beautiful rooms and grounds! The pool and hot tub are secluded and luscious like you are at a tropical island. The staff are warm and welcoming! We ate at the apple farm restaurant which is just across the way and it was wonderful, then off to downtown a perfect stroll just a few minutes away! This is the best place ever also a lovely continental breakfast, I highly recommend!! Thank you for a great stay! We will be back!

    The Lexington inn was great pool was clean hot tub was hot(only a little green) the employees were really nice. It was fairly basic but it was priced well. Overall no complaints. Nothing special but a good solid place to stay

    Fine for a 1 night stay, the place was clean, no bedbugs, and under $100 (priceline) for a family of 4 in a suite with a second bedroom and kitchen with sink, refrigerator, and microwave.  The rooms were dated and worn, but functional.  The beds were old and not very comfortable, but adequate for one night. The pool was cold but the kids liked it while parents relaxed in the jacuzzi. The continental breakfast was basic: cold cereal, fruit, toast, bagels.

    We had a reservation for two beds, when we told the lady at the front desk who is an Indian lady she was very rude and not accommodating. She said well for an extra $10.00 a night we can switch you. I told her that this was their error. She kept looking at me like if I was dumb and a waste of her time. We have stayed at this hotel many of times with no problems. But this time was different, we drove 3 1/2 hours and she was not caring. We said forget it we will leave. She said they had to charge for one night even though we were there less than 45 minutes! She gave us an email to contact the general manager still no response. I asked for a number to complain, she stated there is no number. I had to call a Lexington Inn in Sacramento to get some help and they gave me a a number to which I called and it was incorrect they gave me another number to Vantage Hotel and you make an online complaint and they will get back in 2-4 days! Still no response from anyone and I'm out $90 for 30 min.

    I stayed at the Lexington for one night and would definitely return. The lobby is tastefully decorated and the staff were very friendly. My room was cozy and clean. They have fridge, coffee maker and microwaves in the rooms. The entire place is non-smoking, which I LOVED! A complimentary breakfast in included, along with coffee and a variety of juices. I did go to the "workout facility". It would be great if they could add an elliptical. There is one stationary bike and one treadmill and then a multi-purpose wt. machine, and definitely room for an elliptical or some mats for core workout. Other than that, I highly recommend this place. Great location and very reasonable compared to most other hotels in the area.

    Arrived at 9.30 PM of last Saturday, we checked in and got the key of the room. Just the time to enjoy the view of the place where we were thinking to spend the night that we received a call from the reception and we have been informed that there was a mistake. Back to the reception we got new keys for a different room where we immediately headed and discovered an used bed and still wet soap and towel in the bathroom: at that hour of the night the bedroom is expected to be ready. Back again to the reception to ask for new sheets and towels and, eventually, we got a cleaned room. This episod apart that created a very little discomfort, everything was in line with the expectations: reasonable price for a reasonable accomodation.

    We got a big room that had a king and queen in a separate room. And a kitchen with all the necessities. Wish they had more shampoo and conditioner stocked up. The room was located in another building so it was nice and quiet.

    I am always hesitate to stay at new hotels, due to my son being immune compromised and having many health issues. I am so OCD about things being clean. We arrived about 7pm and it was as if they just cleaned the outside, lobby, sitting areas were very clean. Our room was very spacious and perfect for my husband, myself and our 2 teen sons. The only thing I would change would be the contential breakfast. Not too much. Staff was very friendly.

    I've stayed here twice in the past week. The staff is accommodating and the price is reasonable. My first room during the first stay was on the top floor. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was very clean. The second room, during my second stay was fine, but the bed was a bit hard. The bathrooms are recently updated and it's clear the ownership makes an effort to maintain this property well. I've been looking for a place like this for my frequent visits to SLO....wish I'd found it sooner.

    I really used to like this place and and appreciated the comfortable beds, affordable rates and friendly staff, but it is owned by some corporation now and the workers have absolutely no control over anything. The place is getting super run down and everything in the rooms is becoming broken including things like room heaters and toilets. There is no way to get your money back if you have a bad experience with your stay.You will still be charged with no one to contact for recourse.

    We live in SLO and had not been able to to sleep for a week due to nighttime construction. We decided to get a hotel and choose Lexington since the rates were decent and we were not disappointed! Check-in was very easy and the staff was very friendly (however, the desk clerk kept reiterating that the room was just for my wife and I - no guests...we look young so I'm sure she thought we were college kids, but we're well into our thirties!) Our room was quiet, clean, and looked recently remodeled. We could only hear a little bit of the traffic from the freeway. We enjoyed sitting in the hot tub and relaxing in the evenings, getting a restful night's sleep, and then enjoying the continental breakfast in the mornings. Affordable, clean, comfortable, friendly...we would stay here again and plan on recommending Lexington to our friends and family who come to visit SLO!

I've stayed at Lexington Inn two times in the past, as my son is a student at Cal Poly. The room was ok. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. However, a few weeks ago I booked a room with them through AirBNB. I was happy to see that there was a room available, as I will be attending my son's graduation in June and the rooms are always booked well in advance. I was also happy to see that they had their usual rate. Fast forward 2 weeks. I just received an email that Lexington Inn cancelled my reservation and their message was "Rate needs to be increased." I also noticed an immediate cancellation and refund of my money. I called immediately. I explained that in good faith, since they had that rate published on AirBNB, they should honor it. The lady I spoke to, Diana, I believe, said, "I'm sorry. We did change it on AirBNB, but you must have "slipped in". We do have rooms available still, but not at that rate." I said again, "If someone publishes a rate, even by mistake, they should honor it." I also said, "Obviously, you didn't change the AirBNB rate until after I booked the room, as the normal rate was available and confirmed to me." She said, "I'm sorry, there is nothing I can do about it." So, I said, "Well, I think this is a bad business practice on your behalf. I am a social media manager, and I am going to let people know that this is your business practices and what happened to me wherever I can unless you can honor your rate." She said, "Well, this is a threat, so now I am going to hang up. Goodbye." That's it. That's Lexington Inn's great service. Isn't the customer always supposed to be right? I would have gone back and stayed with them in a heartbeat, but now, I will never stay there again. I would just caution everyone who makes a reservation - if you are staying with them during a holiday or busy time at Cal Poly (graduation or big football game, etc.), make SURE your rate is confirmed and CALL them too, because there is no telling if they will change it on you!

    So since my best friend and I planned our road trip at the very last minute we didn't book a hotel room. With that being said after driving for what felt like 3 days lol we were tired and ready for bed. We stopped at alot of hotels and everywhere that we tried they were completely booked for the night. So I found this place on yelp. Called them and luckily they had available rooms.

    This place looks like a mini apartment complex and it's cute. We got a 2 bedroom room and it was huge. We had a patio, mini kitchen, walk in closet and of course the bathroom. And the price was the lowest that we found all night which was also good. The two ladies working that night were really nice. I would definitely stay at this place again

    The quality of the employees is outstanding! I specifically enjoyed how the employee on 12/25/2016 let us choose the room. There are two buildings - the front building is closer to the pool and hot tub (by the way the hot tub is amazing!) and the back building is newer and more renovated. I would highly recommend to take a trip to the pool and hot tub during your stay. The rooms were great. There was a kitchen and bathroom. The two beds were separated by a room, except in one of the rooms there was no heater - but leaving the door open it was warm. I stayed in Room 108 and definitely give it five stars.

    We've stayed in this hotel two previous times and thought it was pretty good for the money. This time, however, we found it to be lacking. It is clean and a good location to both downtown and Highway 101, but it is showing its age. Our room had a chair that was fraying, the bath hardware was severely worn and our sink leaked and had a slow drain. Generally, we think the property has not been well maintained. Parking is tight and limited.For a one-night stopover, it might be OK. We don't plan to stay there again.

    Fantastic clean motel located just minutes drive to downtown San Luis Obispo. Love the cleanliness and the friendliness of the staff. Room was a good size and is very clean. Parking is free which is always a bonus. The complimentary breakfast was a bonus. While we couldn't get the ground floor rooms requested because we had elderly folk with mobility issues, it helped that we got the first floor rooms with elevator access.

    I would love to write a very very long review but I'm not going to.LONG STORY SHORT THIS HOTEL IS DOING SOME VERY VERY SHADY BUSINESS PASSING OUT HUNDRED DOLLARS BILLS TO PEOPLE CHECKING OUT IN THE MORNING THAT ARE FAKE YES SUPER FAKE THAT IS A BIG NO NO AND VERY ILLEGAL AND TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE I KNOW DAMN RIGHT THAT THE GM OF THIS PLACE IS THE WIFE OF THE OWNER she tried to tell me to take my hundred dollar bill to the police department except The police department didn't hand me the hundred dollar bill her establishment did which still requires her to pay me my rightful hundred dollar that I put down as a deposit.     I would love to write a very very long review but I'm not going to.LONG STORY SHORT THIS HOTEL IS DOING SOME VERY VERY SHADY BUSINESS PASSING OUT HUNDRED DOLLARS BILLS TO PEOPLE CHECKING OUT IN THE MORNING THAT ARE FAKE YES SUPER FAKE THAT IS A BIG NO NO AND VERY ILLEGAL AND TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE I KNOW DAMN RIGHT THAT THE GM OF THIS PLACE IS THE WIFE OF THE OWNER she tried to tell me to take my hundred dollar bill to the police department except The police department didn't hand me the hundred dollar bill her establishment did which still requires her to pay me my rightful hundred dollar that I put down as a deposit.     Not in downtown but a 5 minute drive will get you there. Right off the 101 freeway, in a quiet area but close to restaurants and other services. Clean ample and rooms, very comfortable all around. Friendly staff, although the complimentary continental breakfast was not vey impressive.

    If u enjoy being in a prison style room, with bleak grey stucco covered interior walls, flickering harsh led lamps, damp dirty carpet, and the most depressing bathroom I've ever seen, complete with fast food restaurant floor tile, and a cracked shower floor with gobs of clay patching the cracks and holes..Then by all means.. Stay at this place. The photos on Priceline are an extreme misrepresentation of the actual hotel. The exterior of this dump looks like an old seventies apartment building in the GETTO. My husband, my baby,  and I expected this place to look like the images on Priceline, but when we walked in after hours of exhausting travel .. we were both horrified and couldn't wait to leave. We tried not to touch anything and skipped showering because it was so creepy. This place makes Motel 6 look like the Ritz. We paid $90 but it looks like they should only be charging $50. We were really disappointed

    This hotel is good value for money and the bed was very comfortable. The bedlinen was clean and fresh. We stayed in a room with 2 queen beds. The bathroom was in dire need of renovation as it was very old and tired. Someone had done some inexpert work with brown silicone sealant around the bath that made the bath look dirty. The bathroom sink is cracked and pitted with age, albeit clean. The complimentary continental breakfast was generous, although seating was limited.

    Complicated check in process, paying in advance and holding deposit right then from my debit bank card. Poor customer service. Expected ground floor, but got 3rd floor, thanks for elevator access. Small space to pick up continental breakfast and got very crowded.

    This hotel is what it is... A budget hotel. the room was basic enough But clean. It's a good walk from downtown so you will need a taxi at night. Location therefore is poor. Staff were nice and gave recommendations to eat which were really good. I'd stay again but only if I got it cheaper.

    Average, clean accommodations. Updated room but not spectacular by any stretch. Mattress was too soft, worn and sagged in the middle. Priced too high for what you get but given the area, average price I guess. Staff was very kind and friendly.

    We stayed here for one night. Very comfortable, spacious and the bed was amazingly comfy....slept sound. Inexpensive and the hotel lady was very pleasant and friendly, she gave us a great deal and they have an elevator for people who may have trouble with 3rd floor stairs and their luggage.

    Really enjoyed my stay. Price was extremely reasonable. Room was really nice, really comfy bed, great shower, ample parking, low noise, good front desk experience. Only downside was I wish they had more outlets closer to the nightstand. Literally that was the only bummer.

    August 5th - 7th stay at Lexington Inn 2050 Garfield Street San Luis Obispo, California 93401. Our room was entered during Saturday August 6th while we were out visiting our grand-daughter till late in the evening despite having a "Do Not Disturb Hanger" on the outside door handle. Both our room keys were blocked from entry when we returned. We discovered entry into our motel room by unknown persons while out who caused damage to my wife’s compact and makeup cosmetics when they were knocked off the bath vanity onto the floor. There was broken glass and makeup strewn across the floor. We collected and cleaned up the mess so we could retire for an unnerving night. The damaged property was given to the morning desk clerk along with our contact information whereas they advised me that an investigation needed to be performed before any restitution could be made. The desk clerk asked me if I could wait for the property manager and that could take several hours. My answer was of coarse “NO” because we had 560 miles to drive to reach home that day. We forwarded this information to customerservicegm@lexingtoninn-sanluisobispo.com as instructed and haven’t heard a word. It’s been a month now. The room was decent but overpriced for its appearance and we didn't get the security we expected.

    Les chambres ne sont pas gigantesques mais elle sont bien équipées, Le personnel est accueillant, l'isolation phonique des chambres perfectible (comme dans beaucoup de motel me direz vous...), si vos voisins sont corrects tout ira bien, mais dans le cas contraire dommage... Place de parking en suffisance. Petit déjeuner correct, mais sans plus. Juste pour une étape.

    This hotel is a JOKE. From charging us with absurd made up fees and lying to my face, to just being completely disrespectful to my entire family, I would NEVER recommend staying here. The hotel itself isn't bad but the management is absolutely terrible. I've never in my life seen such negative and rude staff. Stay somewhere else.

    Poor customer service!!! Staff and Management do not care to treat their guests in a manner that would make anyone want to patron their establishment. We frequent the coast about a dozen times a year or more and are always looking for nice hotels to stay at. We booked this hotel through a third party site and there was an error on the website which caused a change in the reservation date. We contacted the site and the hotel multiple time to request the reservation be changed, EVEN AT A HIGHER RATE and were given no assistance. We were told that per the contract there are NO! changes to reservations- non refundable booking. What kind of sense does that make?

    I spent the night there with my family and discovered five hours after we had left that vi forgot our Ipad. I contacted the hotel management by e-mail, referring to the room number I had and asked if they pleased would send the iPad to me, and I would pay all shipping costs. I heard nothing from the hotel's top leadership at all. So I lost a Ipad as the hotel has chosen to keep. I have no confidence in the hotel at all, and should strongly discourage accommodation on site.

    We stayed here for a couple of nights for a wedding we were attending. The beds were comfy and the continental breakfast was adequate. The area around the hotel is very pretty and convenient to the downtown area. I have stayed here once before and it was about the same experience, but I remember the breakfast being a little nicer. I would stay here again.

    Pros: Right off the freeway, close to downtown. The rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly. Check in was quick. Cons: Pool was not heated, jacuzzi jets sometimes work. Our room key was deactivated after the first day. It seemed like that was a problem for a few guests other than us. The beds are VERY HARD!!!! Overall it was a good hotel for the price, We would stay again if they replaced the beds.

    We heard about this place from some church friends. Had our mini honeymoon last weekend and was excited about staying here since the photos looked amazing, but once I stepped foot in the room I was appalled. Room smelled, chairs were old and tattered, balcony sliding door was old, screen door was broke, room appliances we're VERY out of date. 30 mins getting in the room housekeeping barged in while my husband and I were in "the act." The housekeeper didn't see anything, but still very unprofessional. I would not recommend this place to anyone and I myself will never stay here. **Couple good notes: breakfast was satisfying, and we couldn't hear the freeway noise from our room.

    My wife and I were very pleasantly surprised at how nice the accommodations were for the price we paid. The room was clean and nicely equipped with a microwave & refrigerator. We didn't expect luxury but really appreciated the staff's attitude. Only complaint is the wifi was very slow. Apparently you could buy a faster speed but we weren't informed of that at the time we made our reservation. All-in-all, we would definitely stay here again.

    Writing this by their pool. Nice place. Staff is friendly & it seems to be 30%-50% less than every place else. We are paying less than $100 on a Monday & Tuesday. Might be more on weekends. Clean rooms & no problems.

    Tried to cancel after a surprise blood test came back as cancer/leukemia. Needed to take my wife in for chemo next day and they wouldnt give me a break on the reservation. After arriving the manager Diana Zuniga charged me $60 over the original quoted price. My buddy who booked the room called the hotel direct but after seeing the same room for 1/3 of the price we were being charged for the same exact room. Very rude costumer service David was the bell hop that refused to give me last name. Feel really takin advantage of and bbb should fine this poorly ran hotel. Also found roaches in the fridge. Completely outraged at this point. Also tacked on 10$ for my two nephews who joined us on this sad trip.

    This was a very nice stay.   The staff was wonderful, from the moment I stepped in to the time I left.   I was on a quick visit to see my son at Cal Poly and when the staff had heard this they wanted to have me call directly next time because they have a discount for parents.    I had booked on booking.com so I couldn't use the discount.   There were issues with some guests during the night and the gal at the desk handled the situation very well.   The only problem that was evident was a noisy fridge, well and the noisy guests.  Other than that I would recommend this hotel and it is so conveniently located as well.

    Mold in the bathroom, dirty blanket, paint coming off from the wall, tiles are loose, over painted mold... Sorry but way too expensive for this bad quality. In addition the front desk said they cannot sign me up for a rewards program. Really? This was during check in before I saw what I have to pay for.

    stayed during graduation weekend so naturally prices were exorbitant. stayed in back building which obviously had been an apartment building bought by the hotel. Room was nice-spacious. Queen in a seperate bedroom. King bed with sofa sleeper in main room. Full kitchen. Not bad for an older hotel. Staff very pleasant. Grounds well kept and attractive. Staff friendly. Minimal breakfast included. no breakfast room, but you can grab coffee, tea, cereal, oatmeal, ect.. It was okay for us as we enjoyed brunch at The Apple Farm directly across the street.

    So I was travelling with a small tour group and, for some reason, we stopped here on the way down from San Francisco to Los Angeles (a journey that somehow ended up taking us three days!!). There is absolutely nothing of interest in San Luis, although our tour guide kept repeating that Zac Efron was born there, and I was getting extremely irritated with the amount of time that she was wasting - this was day twelve of a two week trip and we had spent over 50% of the time driving around at about 20mph. As a result of this, most of what I remember about staying here is that I was trying to keep my temper and not snap at anybody; I usually travel on my own specifically to avoid this sort ot thing. That said, I remember the hotel being clean and the room being a nice size. There's nothing special going on there, but I don't recall anything that was a problem either. There's wifi, a television and a reasonable bathroom. I'm not sure if they serve breakfast here, as I may be confusing it with the hotel we stayed at in Santa Barbara (the next stop on the never-ending drive to LA). Benefit of the doubt, four stars. Good points: clean, presentable. Bad points: why would you be stopping in San Luis Obispo?

    Nice place that's just off a main drag so there is very little noise. Nothing overly fancy but pretty well keep for an older motel. Close to the freeway but far enough that you aren't disturbed by the noise. Very close to the "Splash" for lunch, a must have every time I go to Slo town.

    Last minute trip to SLO.... Nice and clean even though the room was very basic. Our room was pretty big and even had a mini kitchenette. Beds are comfortable enough for the night. They had a pool and tub which is always a plus for our 9 yr old. Great location from places to eat.

    I'll expand on this short review a bit later, but since we had such a terrific experience staying here, I wanted to get a review up quickly. We got a GREAT price on a holiday weekend here. We booked a King size bed room. The bed mattress is complete with boxspring unlike comprably priced Motel 6's recent renovation to hard mattresses on a platform board. The bed is so incredibly comfortable, I moaned everytime I got on it. It made my back very happy. Good coffee is available in the lobby 24/7. No doling out single cup only to guests. They feature french vanilla and hazelnut creamers as well as classic half n half. David checked us in and was so courteous, knowledgable and professional. Didn't get to use the gym, but the poolside jaccuzi was a dream. Bring your bathing suit and flipflops! Nice lil continental breakfast in the lobby tided us over til lunchtime when we noshed in the outdoor zen oasis at the Apple Farm restaurant. Super easy access to the 101. Plenty of power outlets at the desk to charge all our devices. Loved it here. Would return again in a heartbeat. Already planning a longer visit to the Central Coast!

    This is well kept older motel near the University. Comfortable bed, microwave, refrigerator and TV. Centrally located near downtown with restaurants close by. Its quite and the staff is very helpful. It has three stories with an elevator.

    Arrived for a weekend conference. Requested room with two beds and when we opened door only saw one! Didn't go inside so went down to get correct room. Was told there is a doorway not seen from front door that has a small bedroom. Went back upstairs and sure enough there was one, with a door! That worked for us. It is an older hotel in two separate buildings. Beds were fine and comfortable and it was quiet during the night. Had a refrigerator & small microwave and a small bar sink. Flat screen TV that used Dish with very limited stations. Many stations came in like watching TV in the 50's with rabbit ear antenna. Several came in clear but overall not so great! Also said has WiFi included but if you want high speed it's $10. Bathroom pretty small & only one bar of soap for sink & shower. They did have body gel but don't use. Continental breakfast pretty limited but gets you through. Lobby staff very nice and helpful and room was cleaned for second night stay. Limited parking for front building but a parking structure for back building. One of the lower priced hotels in the San Luis Obispo area. I've stayed in worse as well as better, so I came away that this hotel was just average.

    We headed to Lexington Inn as we saw on Booking website that they had free rooms. We arrived there, and we went to the hotel’s reception. A guy was there and we asked for a room. He said straight away with no checking anything that they don’t have any free room for us. We asked him to check in the computer as we saw on this website free rooms. He was a bit bothered to do it, but finally he did the effort and certainly they have free rooms. He gave us the keys and explained everything very fast, not giving details and being a bit rude. So we went to our room, and we tried to open the door but they key that we had didn’t work. We went back to reception and we said to this guy that this key wasn’t working and he said ironically that it should work properly but he didn’t want to come with us to try so we went back again to our room and tried again. Once again the key did not open the door, and we were out trying to get it to our room under the rain. We went back again to talk with this guy in the reception and he said this time, oh you are right this key doesn’t work, take this one and have a good night, but he was laughing when he was saying that to us. We didnt know what was funny and why this guy was laughing on us because he was giving a terrible service and being very rude. Fortunately this guy was not working the day after, and instead him was a guy called David. He was lovely, nice and friendly. He really helped us. Our time in this place was not that good because of this guy. We drove from far way and we wanted to arrive to a nice place to rest, and this guy welcomed us in a very bad mood. He should have been nicer with the guests.

En segundo lugar no hizo nada porque entendieramos su inglés cuando le hicimos saber que no eramos muy buenos con el inglés. En tercer lugar nos tuvo dando vueltas al hotel hasta que se digno a venir a desbloquear la puerta de nuestra habitación. Un chico muy desagradable y me atrevo a decir que un poco racista.

    If you're looking for a clean room, this is the place to go! I just visited this hotel this past weekend with a few girlfriends. We were looking for a place just to crash after wine tasting. Since we're not too picky, we booked through Priceline and didn't exactly know what we'd end up with. When we first pulled in to the back parking lot (GPS led us here), we were questioning our choice. After we finally found the front office around the building, we weren't as scared anymore. When we got our room later in the evening, we were pleasantly surprised. Our room was HUGE, bigger than a studio apartment. It was clean and well stocked. There were no complaints from any of us about the room. The only downside that we experienced at all was the check-in process. We called ahead of time to see if we could get an early check-in, and were told that it most likely wouldn't be available. We checked again on the day of, and were told again it wouldn't be possible. While this isn't a good enough reason not to stay here, if early check-in is something you'd want, you may want to call ahead and see if they'll be able to accommodate you.

    San Luis Obispo is getting very expensive while the facilities are getting worse by the day. Lexington Inn needs a lot of upgrading: wi-fi doesn't really work (you have to pay additional $10 to make it work), bathroom needs upgrading, breakfast is a chaotic event with cold coffee and small eating area, TV has no HD or many standard channels such as CNN, etc. But, the location is convenient and Apple Farm across the street is double the price! SLO needs better choices at better prices. I'd avoid SLO and stay at neighboring towns (if you can fit it into your plans).

    The hotel is very affordable for the location in SLO. The property is in much need of routine maintenance. Our room was clean, but dingy and dumpy. The furniture was old and worn out, including the wall paint, carpet and just about everything else at the hotel. Unimpressive.

    In the search for a hotel to stay while visiting Hearst Castle, I came upon this gem while searching Priceline.com.  After seeing several hotels that were $350/night, I searched the surrounding area and found that San Luis Obispo (where the Lexington Inn is located) was a 50 minute drive from the Castle.  And then I saw that it was sold out.  I tried my luck and called the hotel directly and they said they had one room available for 2 nights.  They also said they would honor the priceline.com rate at $107/night.  Score! I'm not sure why the bad reviews here?  We walked into a super friendly desk clerk and fresh coffee in the lobby.  As far as rooms go, I'm pretty easy to please.   *Clean room, check. *Clean bathroom, check. *Comfortable bed with clean sheets, check. *Pool, check. *Free breakfast including cereal, mini pastries, oatmeal, fresh fruit, check. *Microwave in the room, check. *Popcorn ceiling, check.  I kid, I kid.  Yes this place did have the popcorn ceiling.  But for $107 vs. paying $350, I was going to keep my mouth shut and happily ignore it.

    I loved how quick and easy it was to book a room. I was a bit nervous about the rooms at first because for the price, it sounded too good to be true. Around the area, I was looking up hotels that were more expensive than this one, but didn't look as great in Quality. To my surprise, the room was exactly what I booked for and some! I was especially excited to find a balcony/patio outside our room! It was a perfect size room, very spacious! A huge walk in closet where we can place suitcases and luggages in. Lots of space for a family to get ready for a great day out and a great night in. It was nice to call it our home for the weekend. It really looked and felt like a home, that was the best part! The only disappointment we had was the pool. We were so excited about the "heated" outdoor pool (stated on the hotel amenities) but it was definitely not heated. It was actually pretty dirty, but I understand because it was already at the end of the night. We had to wait for the jacuzzi because there was a large group surrounding the hot tub. But that was fine. They left 10 minutes before 10 pm so we were able to spend a few minutes in there. Again, I understand it was the end of the night and dozens of people has been in there...but wow! The water in the hot tub smelled aweful! Even after our clothes were dry, it still smelled like Clorox and smelly feet! Not so pleasant. Other than that, I recommend this hotel! Staying here at this hotel made our vacation easy traveling to and from Pismo and Morro Bay. It was a great choice!

    My husband and I stayed here several times when we go up to SLO for his work .  The rooms are very nice and the staff is great . They offer a breakfast with bagels, toast, muffin , pastries and cereals and also some fresh fruit and juices and let's not forget about the coffee with a variety of creamers !

    My daughter and I were in town for a family birthday party. Our normal go-to hotel was full. The Lexington served us wel for one night. The room was clean, towels were nice enough, beds were adequate. They have a small selection of fruit, muffins, cereals, oatmeal and coffee, tea, and milk they serve in the lobby. No tables to sit at but better than hitting the road with an empty stomach. They give a AAA discount too. Nothing fancy here, don't expect the Hyatt Regency. Decent though.

    This is a fairly clean hotel with a very convenient location. The staff is friendly and I have stayed there more than 10 times with family when we meet around the Central Coast. It is somewhat over-priced when compared to other cheaper hotels, such as the Ramada, which is more updated. That being said, I will never be staying there again. My most recent experience did not speak to the normal level of customer service I was accustomed to, with their hotel. The main issue is that when I cancelled the hotel reservation, one week before the res. date, it was billed to my credit card even though their policy states that only 24 hours is necessary to cancel a reservation. I called both the hotel directly as well as Lexington Inn's main customer service line. I cancelled with both and somehow was still billed. The main company line had somewhat friendly customer service reps, but the hotel front desk was very rude. Apparently, I was supposed to get a cancellation confirmation number that wasn't provided to me. My bad for not knowing your policies off the top of my head. I have requested that the hotel and the Lexington Inn Company look into why I got charged and haven't received an e-mail or call back yet (1 week later). My credit card bill has come due and I will be disputing this charge with them.

    We stayed on a Friday night while visiting my daughter at Cal Poly.  The rooms were more than comfortable enough, especially considering there is so much to do in SLO we are pretty much only in there to sleep.  Continental breakfast was available, WiFi was adequate, and the kids used the jacuzzi.  The main reason for five stars is that my son left his iPhone in the room upon check out.  We realized it when we were out of SLO and called.  One of the maids found the phone and turned it over to the manager who in turn shipped it to us at our house in the Sacramento area.  With the close location to the campus, comfortable stay, friendly staff, and most of all the integrity displayed by the staff we will undoubtedly book a room here next time we are in town.

    It was a last minute decision to visit our niece at Cal Poly. (Friday afternoon to book a lodging for Saturday night!) Finding that the Best Western near Madonna Inn we stayed last year wants $200 minimum per night, I looked for an alternative. Lexington Inn had a "winter special" rate that was almost 1/4 of BW, and I wondered if this place was like a super shabby cheap motel. The reviews were ok though, and I decided to give it a try. It was only for 1 night and we would be spending most of our time out with our niece or at her apt anyway so we just needed a room to crash in. We were pleasantly surprised at the decent facility and neighborhood. Right across the street from Apple Farm Inn where we were going to have breakfast with her! The bare minimum continental breakfast stuff they had at the hotel (cereal, muffin/scone sort, juices, fruits, and coffee - no yogurt or eggs)was just enough to hold my husband over till our niece could come to meet us at Apple Farm. The bed was comfortable enough ans we slept very well. Hubby, the jacuzzi lover, even got to go for a soak in the morning when nobody else was there. it was their smallest room, I suppose, without a closet (only a corner space for luggage and hangers) but we didn't mind for just an overnight sleep-in spot. There was a fridge and a good size bathroom and everything was clean. We would rather save our $$$ for real vacations. We would come back here again, maybe even for a lay over during our future trips up north (San Francisco and up). And oh, they offer discounts for Cal Poly parents! (But of course, except during graduation/open house and such)

    We drove in on a Friday night around 1030pm. We used google maps and it took us to some sketchy Peking garage on the backside of the actual hotel. After calling the front desk and asking where the lobby was, they told us to leave the Parking garage and pull into the next driveway. Badabing, oh wow there is the lobby entrance and the front of the hotel (smh thanks goggle maps). Checking in was easy the the lady working was very nice! Lobby was clean and fancy looking. Then we get to our room. It was ok, nothing fancy, but worked for what was needed. Smelt a little funky, but I was able to deal with it. The next morning it sounded like it was pouring outside, I kept looking out the window (with a sweet view of the pool), and it didn't look like that much rain. As soon as we walked out of our room, there was water pouring out of the pipes. Be careful walking as it could be slippery. We checked out at 645am, breakfast was already setup and they had a decent variety for continental breakfast. A nice little addition.

    The room was clean, well equipped and quite large. The beds were comfortable and the linens were nice. The bathroom was small and cramped and needs updating. There was no where to put toiletries in the bathroom because the vanity top was so small. Close to highway and gas station.

O hotel oferece café da manhã bom, com pães salgados e doces, frutas, café (inclusive com copo para viagem), suco, cereal, etc. Staff educada, super prestativos, quarto amplo com bom chuveiro e cama confortável. Dentro do padrão de preço americano, um excelente custo benefício.

    This has always been my go to place to stay on all my trips to SLO. On this particular trip I decided to to extend my stay on day. So tonight 01/21/2016 at approximately 10:40pm I went to front desk to change my departure from Saturday to Sunday. The front desk clerk informed it was not possible because no rooms were available. I didn't think much about it because it was some what last minute and it was the weekend coming up after all. So I went back to my room to look at any hotel that I could reserve for 1 night. Much to my surprise this very hotel came up in my search with no less than 5 rooms available for the specific date I requested to the clerk. So I can only assume the clerk was incompetent or lazy. Whatever the reason it cost The Lexington a very long time customer. Unfortunate for the hotel and to me.

    Stayed 4 nights over Christmas. It was an older room that could use some renovation. It was also quiet, clean, and cozy. We've had non-smoking rooms at other hotels where the staff obviously tried to mask the smell of smokers. Not at the Lexington; our room smelled fresh and clean. The room had a microwave and fridge. The lobby served a continental breakfast and good, fresh coffee. The staff was amazingly attentive. Very reasonable price for a 4 night stay! I recommend the Lexington Inn to anyone and everyone.

    Easy and fast check-in, good apartment with a large room, free parking and breakfast. A mini-kitchen helps who travel with kids. It's not close to downtown but it isn't a real problem. I recommend it.

    We stayed 2 nights in the executive king room.  Super specious room with a tiny "yard". The front desk was very kind and very helpful. The room was OK but smelled a little bit funky (maybe mold...) everything was clean and the bed was comfortable. Great value for money.   Easy access to everything around.

    The hotel is nice the rooms are big the stuff is nice. I needed to do laundry and they sell everything there and give you quarters. The location is not to close to down town you can't walk there and there isn't any thing around the hotel to do other wise. The complementary breakfast was nice allot of options.

    The hotel is close to fwy, very convenient. The room was large. The chairs were worn and needed to be replaced. However, the room was attractive, and they provided a continental breakfast. It's a very good value compared to other lost cost chains - has more amenities, larger rooms, and much more attractive. A good place to stay the night when you're traveling along the 101 fwy.

    We stayed here for one night and the experience was rather disappointing. The walls were thin and we could hear everything from the room next to us (the place had a door dividing into another room) And every now and then, there seemed to be some weird motor noise outside. Made it really hard for us to go to sleep.

    We made reservation for two nights by using their website a month ago before our South California trip started . They called me on our check-in date. They told they couldn’t charge amount from my credit card. I told them : “We will arrive to hotel in two hours. Please try again to charge my same credit card. If it doesn’t work, Please call me back I will give another card.” They said ok. We were in Solvang for dinner when they called. We arrived to the hotel in two hours as I said phone. I came into reception. I told her I had reservation for two nights. She took my last name and then big shock!!!! She said they sold my room to another people because they could not charge money from my credit card. This is ridiculous and very rude! I told them we would arrive to hotel in two hours in phone conversation. If they couldn’t reach me out by phone, I could understand why they sold my room. But they reached me out. I told them we were coming in two hours. I am so mad. I had to look another hotel with my 31 weeks pregnant wife at midnight!!! I will never go this hotel and I will never ever recommend this hotel.

    You get what you pay for. We got this through booking.com. Rooms were outdated and small. Carpet was kinda sticky. Breakfast was nice but very few options, only bread and coffee. No eggs or sausage. Also, we had to eat outside which we didnt really like.

    We stopped over in SLO for two nights and stayed at Lexington Inn. We had room 329 which is an Executive King in the rear building. The room was clean and nicely decorated. There was a balcony, though no outdoor furniture. There was some freeway noise, so if you want if more quiet it's probably best to request a room in the front building. There was plenty of parking both in front of the property and in the additional parking area between the buildings. Access to/from 101 was easy. Breakfast was adequate and what was expected at this property level. We would stay again.

    Average hotel. The room really smelled when we walked in so we opened the window and put the air conditioner on and it was ok when we got back from dinner. The water in the sink ran really slow so they need to snake it. You can hear everything outside if the air conditioner is off so we kept it on.

    Beware of additional $100 check-in charge! This is one of those hotels that charges you upon check-in for "incidentals". It's now been over 24 hours since checkout, and the charge is still on my bank account, and the hotel tells me it could be a couple more days until it gets reversed, putting my money out of my reach now that I really need it to pay for vacation costs. I think this practice is a ploy for hotels to end up with tens of thousands of extra dollars in their bank accounts so they can make money on our money. As for the hotel itself, it could be quite charming, but falls far short. It seems quite intimate and well landscaped, but room interiors are very dated (1960s) and the grounds are overgrown and uncared for. Pool had litter in it. Room's window had months of dirt and spattered bird crap. Thin walls had us woken up and hearing neighbors coming in at 3am and their conversations then and the following morning. (I hope he was able to find his jacket with keys he left at the bar that night.) Very low water pressure made for a very long shower as it took forever to wash shampoo out of your hair.

    Booked 2 nights at this location as my respite spot in the midst of moving, on a Mon and Tues evening, at my target price point (budget). Very pleasant front desk people, very pleasant room on ground floor, interior. Any questions were handled (from parking my 16ft rental truck, to having them verify the frig in the room was working after I left, to when/how to access pool and spa). Bed comfortable, shower just fine. Very convenient location. Free wifi worked just fine; continental breakfast options enough just to get the day started for me.

    We stayed here a Sat and Sun night. It's probably about a mile and a half north of downtown SLO. We bring our scooters when we travel, so we don't mind the trek. The room we had was large, two queens, kitchenette, and an extra little enclosed balcony that we used to store our scooters and dry off our bathing suits (it wasn't an area meant for hanging out in). Lots of storage space: walk in closet, bathroom drawers + 2 medicine cabinets, and a dresser and side tables. This hotel would be great for an extended stay. Only two small complaints, breakfast was very gluten heavy (cereals, breads, pastries), no yogurt option (there is fruit, so that's nice), and the pool was not lighted, so you were in darkness in the Jacuzzi and pool after the sun went down (fun for my 7 yr old though).

    They advertise free wifi but that is mostly inadequate and often unusable. It's like a bait and switch - at check-in they offer 'high speed' wifi for $10!! The refrigerators are noisy and seem to run forever. Maid service is good, and the front desk staff are obliging. None of the good things makes up for the cheesy wifi tactic.

    Booked stay for two nights, only to come back after hosting a memorial for my grandmother to find we had been locked out of our rooms! When we checked at the front desk they claimed we had only booked for one night (not true). They had moved our items into storage. Very angry.

    I stayed here for a few days when I was in the area. I liked it! just 30 seconds from the freeway, but less than a mile to downtown. The room was comfortable and quiet. It was also very spacious. I really liked that they had a fridge, microwave and sink, to make a tiny functional kitchen area. Weather was so nice (of course!) that I picnicked some days for lunch, and that way could save money and time by shopping once and keeping the food in the fridge. I didn't try their breakfast - it's mostly carbs and coffee. Instead I walked a half mile down Monterey to Splash cafe - just what I wanted! One thing I really liked about the hotel was the landscaping, filled with lovely, native and drought resistant plants. Not only was it beautiful, but with a drought like this I would never stay some place with a large green lawn like the Holiday Inn express, just down the road. I will stay here again when I am back in SLO.

    Booked through booking.com and canceled well over 24 hours in advance. Canceling 24+ hours was advertised to be free, however this hotel is now charging me first night for canceling. Booking.com has worked with me and attempted to do what's right, however Lexington Inn will not and this is the message I received: "We're sorry to inform you that Lexington Inn - San Luis Obispo cannot offer free cancellation for your reservation _________. The conditions of your reservation state that there is a cancellation charge, and Lexington Inn - San Luis Obispo could not make an exception in this case. Beware of false advertising.

    Great place to stay, near a lot of good bars and restaurants and even closer to the freeway. Small continental breakfast and rooms were clean and tidy. The TV went out a few times but other than that it was comfy.

    Had a great two night stay here and would love to come again! The room itself was comfortably spacious, the bathroom small but not a problem. Beds had nice, clean white sheets and comforter, fluffy pillows. Mattress a little firm. The pool was also very clean and refreshing, not freezing cold. Right across from Apple Farm which is a MUST for breakfast! Short drive to nearby Avila Beach or Pismo.

Continental breakfast is a good start for the day and is only lacking protein. We will stay here again whenever we need a hotel in this region.

    So it's a last minute Friday business trip.  Our standard go to's are full.  Scanning Bookings.com I discover a 7.8 rated Inn in North San Luis Obispo across from the Apple Farm which is great by the way.  The picture showed a bright newer but smaller King room I bit and then my wife was bitten during the night by something in the room or... The desk manager put us in a lower level, basement type room which was dark and unwelcoming and then when we asked to be relocated, we felt we had asked to be moved to the Ritz Carlton.  "Well you know, other guest quite like it."  Guess I'm not an 'other.' The room  I rented was NOTHING like the photo they have on their web page either thru the motel's site or on Bookings or here for that matter.  I'll admit this was a business trip and I was forced to take last available but for $200 one would expect the accommodation to at least 'resemble' the photo on the marketing materials.   I have never slept in a King size bed in any accommodation, that rocked and rolled every time one of us moved.   Don't get me started on the bath room, yes it smelled like a gas station rest room.  The old tile grout on the floor was so soaked with urine, if the window had not been open the entire time we were there that smell would have been the only thing you would have smelled, in the otherwise stale room.  The sink and faucet were so old it was literally 'hanging-off-the-wall.'  You get the picture. You know I'd have rather driven home or slept in the car.  But hind sight is...

    Check in was great, staff friendly and well versed on local attractions. Got great advice on local restaurants including Apple Farm across the road which was excellent for breakfast if you did want change from complimentary continental the hotel provides. Rooms spacious and clean. Laundry great and can buy washing powder from reception. Gym a little tired and the treadmill I could not get to work so jogged the lovely streets of SLO instead.

    Na lang zoeken voor deze accomodatie gekozen. 3 sterren.. Hoge verwachtingen! Niets van waargemaakt. Het is gehorig. De bovenburen zetten 1 stap en je hoort het. De TV is flatscreen maar het beeld is korrelig. Na het ontbijt voel ik me beledigd en niet serieus genomen. Koffie is slap, de bordjes zijn zo klein dat je er nog geen boterham op kwijt kan. Gelukkig heb ik broekzakken :-) Alleen maar jam voor op brood. Jus 'd orange is aangelengd tot het doorzichtig is. Internet is gratis, maar high speed kost 10 dollar extra... Badkamer is ouderwets en zonder dat we op de hoogte zijn is het voor invaliden. Nacht was rustig, bed was goed. Niet alles is hier slecht..

    Very old property that has not been updated forever, and in need of repairing. Air-conditioner was loud, but running it all night was the only way to block out the exterior noise. Shower pressure was very poor and the towel rack kept falling down. The bed was the best part about this hotel. If you just needed a place to stay for a night the Lexington would be okay, however, we were there for 3 nights because of a college graduation. Hotel management at the front desk was not particularly friendly or helpful. Best part about this hotel is the location about a 1 mile or more from downtown SLO.

    We had a king suite. Bathtub had a three inch diameter black mark and another pAtch. Paint was literally peeling off balcony and handrails. One plastic chair not two. Exposed 4 inch strip on drywall missing and manager told me to email customer service with my issues. We paid about $275 a night for graduation weekend. These are all facts and I have the pictures to prove it. One positive is that the bed was comfortable and they brought us Extra  coffee. Also air conditioner was turned off when we arrived and took 24 hours to cool room off.

    I never post reviews, and I wish I could post negative stars.This is the worst hotel. Do not stay here. They charged my credit card incorrectly twice and would not compensate me for this HUGE inconvenience. They overcharged me by $100 and never told me until I brought it to their attention and then didn't have a good explanation for why they had overcharged me. Then when asked to correct it they charged my card a second time for the incorrect amount again even though the original charge was still pending.  Fortunately, my bank reversed tbe charges. To top it off, there was a party in another room that woke me from a dead sleep at 3:30 in the morning with pounding on the walls and doors. When I spoke with the manager on duty he acted bothered that he had to address this issue of a "noise complaint". The overall feeling that I had was that I didn't matter as a guest and that customer service was not important. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone.

    Here for a family wedding and quietly sitting at the spa at 10pm and the jerk nightt mgr. on 5/16/15 came and hassled us to leave. We were making no noise.....4 adults quietly sitting in spa.......Not my idea of treating hotel guests well, and we were very quite. Just a jerk Manager!! We rented a few rooms, all KING SUITES, and they were not the same. Some were just regular rooms.......when we questioned it, we were told too bad........I would not recommend this hotel. Idiot management, and the rooms are below average. Curtains so short the sun comes in at daybreak..........so if you don't want to sleep past 5am you'll like it! Stayed here on 5/16/15......Also, it says free internet, but once here they they tell you high speed is $10 per day.........

    We were travelling down the Pacific Coast Highway and had split our journey up into sections. We had booked the Lexington for this part of our journey. The hotel was easy to find, check in was smooth, and the room was a good size. The bed was very comfortable. However, the walls between the rooms are very thin and if the person next door has their TV on, as our neighbour did until midnight, it means a rather late night befor you can get to sleep. The in room wifi was not really up to the job so we paid the $10 for the super high speed so that my wife could deal with some business emails. This was just as disappointing. Continental breakfast is adequate but is served in the lobby. Adequate for a one night stay.

    It's a great value. Extra large rooms with kitchens are available in the back building. Clean. YET, a friend booked a room a couple of days before me and was not charged a two night minimum. Even though I only stayed one night, I was charged a two night minimum. I was told some made up story as to how they have the rates set a year in advance.  I knew I would be charged for the two nights. But, they should definitely get their story straight as to why they charge some people no minimum and others the 2 night minimum.

    Spotlessly clean room, and nicely appointed. Very quiet room looking over the nice pool. It was Mother's Day weekend and the area was quiet. Very short drive to downtown. Picked up some yummy scones in the lobby to tide us over until brunch. The price was incredibly reasonable compared to other places (I spent that money we saved on wines to bring home!) And, last, but not least, the staff was lovely.

It was the only place available that did not charge an arm and a leg for a room.... the room was huge supper clean and so comfortable! The night before we stayed at the Ramada Inn and the Lexingtin was by far, bar none was alot better. I would definitely go back!

    I thought I'd discovered a reliable and affordable hotel in the SLO area, but after my most recent (and fifth) stay at the Lexington it appears that I was mistaken and I will have to look elsewhere when I stay in the area. The hotel remains affordable.  Reliability, though, appears to have escaped them at some point.   At issue are excessive charges which nearly doubled the total of my stay. The excessive charges appear to have been added to my account by the clerk who handled my check in.  The problem surfaced at checkout time and after several minutes speaking to the desk clerk and another staff member, during which time I showed them my email from the hotel which indicated my correct room rate and hearing an acknowledgement from the desk clerk that there was an error on my account, I was assured that the amount on the invoice would not be charged to my credit card.  Following their assurances, I signed an invoice which indicated the correct amount. Lo and behold, the day after returning home, the cynic in me decided to check my credit card account to see if the Lexington charge had posted, and there it was:  the amount they assured me I would not be charged.  Fecking nitwits.   So, fellow Yelpers, beware of this hotel, they are not above overcharging its customers and giving them lip service just to get them on their way.

    Muy lindo hotel. La habitacion era muy comoda y de buen tamaño, buenas camas, nevera y microondas. Muy atento el empleado que nos recibio. Buena relacion precio- calidad. Nos ibamos temprano pero pudimos aprovechar algo del desayuno. Paramos en este pueblo de camino a Los o Angeles y quedamos sorprendidos, es muy pintoresco, tanto el pueblo como los alrededores.

    Over all this is an average place to stay. The price is in the middle range. The room was clean and large. The pool are is nice too. The continental breakfast is average but in the lobby so no tables and chair it eat inside. I asked for a quiet room. I couldn't hear the FWY if the air conditioner was on. I walked the property and could hear the FWY every where so if you like the price and the location it is a good place to stay if you don't mind FWY noise.

    Me and several friends recently spent a weekend at the lexington inn. We had a wonderful stay. The affordability of the hotel was the reason that we chose it - it was inexpensive, but had great reviews on trip adviser. It was a no frills kind of establishment, but we really found that it came through on what it offered. We enjoyed the coffee, tea, and meals in the reception area, the pool and hot tub were truly wonderful - and warm! We also enjoyed our room. We slept well in the beds, although the pillows were odd sized, and really enjoyed our updated bathroom a lot. Our friends purchased the same room type as ours (two queens) and ended up getting a two room suite. This was a great upgrade because our friends were recovering from a cold. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel to others.

    Its more of a budget option than a business hotel. Some rooms have balconies. It was noisy the nights I stayed there, either because of the cars whizzing by on the freeway or the kids on a field trip making noise in the middle of the night.     Friendly staff, very clean room and beds were nice. We only stayed for one night but it was nice enough that I would have felt comfortable staying several nights. I booked a room with two beds. It was amazing for the second bed had it's own separate room which I don't think I had ever had in at any high dollar hotel and there was a kitchenette man I was impressed. I will be staying here again when heading in that direction. I will be telling any of my friends who head to SLO to stay at your hotel. Thank you.

    This is a hidden away inn just off the main Monterey strip in San Luis obispo. I found it by accident and was pleasantly surprised. Being a current buy out from days inn is it very clean and quite large for the price. I will definitely visit again.

    This hotel has two buildings, the front one facing Garfield St, the rear building facing the 101 freeway, literally only a couple hundred feet away which, if you get a room there, you won't get a wink's sleep at all. The freeway noise is 24 hrs and deafening, ear plugs were of no use and the room actually shakes when a big rig goes by. Stayed in the front building before and is fine. Rooms are big and beds are comfortable and a good value. Just stay away from the rear building facing the freeway!

    I was very pleased by the Lexington Inn. The room we had was large, clean, had comfortable beds and windows that opened. The price was very reasonable. The front desk clerk was very friendly. This hotel is near many other local hotels and is close to downtown. While the price was budget, I didn't feel as if I was staying in a cheap place. We came to San Luis Obispo to check out the university. I'd stay here again if I end up coming back this way.

    Great place, especially for the price. Hot tub open until 10. We also lucked out with a king suite.  Clean, and relatively updated.  Good TV choices and good heating.  Wish the breakfast had a non-carb option, but what can you expect for complimentary?  I'd recommend this hotel.

    The Lexington Inn was a good value for the price. Nothing fancy but the motel's beds were firm and the room was clean and quiet for a one night stay. Easy access to the freeway and a short drive to downtown. The shower/bath combination and the toilet were in one room with a door and the sink was outside. The Continental breakfast was your basic cold cereal, toast, coffee/tea and fresh fruit.

    My main objective was economy, so i expected to compromise on the amenities and environment. Yet, that was not the case. The room was particularly spacious, the wifi, TV, refrigerator, and microwave were each new. Pool, hot tub, and breakfast made this place a bargain at under $100 a night on a holiday weekend. I will keep The Lexington in mind for future visits.

    Beware ...this hotel has a 48 hour cancellation. They also charge you per person. I had a double queen room and when we arrived and they saw I had a 10 year old they charged me an extra $10. High speed internet is also an extra $10. The hotel is very old, run down and in need of work. The only nice thing I can say is that the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was continental and not bad....cereal, muffins, fruit. Their policies seemed a bit bully-ish. They tell you on all their in room information that you better not smoke on their property and the penalty isn't the standard $250, but $475! Not that it was an issue, but I didn't think that saying it 10 Different times was necessary.

    Only stayed one night (Halloween) from 10 PM til 5 AM so we missed the breakfast. Yay for a rate of only ~$80 from Booking.com. Naturally a bit noisy from the holiday celebrations but was still able to sleep well, cars from highway was minimal noise. We liked how the bedroom is a separate room with a door between the living room and there is a nice kitchenette. We would stay here again and recommend to others!

    Estuvimos por una noche y no esperábamos que fuera tan comoda nuestra estadia. Habiamos solicitado una habitación con 2 camas dobles, refrigerador y microondas. Nuestro cuarto era en realidad un pequeño departamento... un cuarto grande con una cama doble y tv led, otro cuarto mas pequeño con otra cama grande y un escritorio. Un baño pequeño pero suficiente y una pequeña cocinia separada con el refrigerador, microondas y fregadero de cocina, además de dos pequeñas alacenas. El servicio de WIFI era muy bueno y el desayuno esta bastante bien surtido y sobre todo muy bien atendido y se reponía todo antes de que se terminara. Toda la disposición del personal muy buena. Super recomendable.

    This is one of the best values for a hotel in SLO. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the location superb. The rooms are nothing to write home about, plain, small, with no particular attention to detail. The shower was missing its curtain and the TV had ~23 channels.However, there was no road noise, hotel was pretty quiet in general, and I got a good deal on a room when I checked in. Oh yeah, the Wifi was very slow too.

    I have stayed in San Luis Obispo before and paid a pretty price for what I got. Here you get more than you pay for. The Hotel is large and spacious. The rooms you can get medium, large or a suite with an extra bedroom for a pittance. My husband is staying for a few months for work. They immediately up graded him when he told them he would like a bigger place and how long he was staying. We got a room in the back upstairs nice, walk in closets, clean and they are pretty quiet. I was glad to leave him in such a nice place knowing he would be happy. The staff are there for you. The pool is quaint and clean. I would also recommend this place to anyone...you will definitely get your money’s worth and have some to spare in the fun town of San Luis Obispo. We got Brandon in the office he was knowledgeable and very accommodating.

    Recently stayed at the Lexington Inn in SLO and its always a great feeling to stay at a reasonably priced, quiet, clean hotel. Not too far from downtown basically walking distance.They have very friendly accomidating staff. There is free parking & wifi in the rooms. There is a pool and jacuzzi in the front part of the hotel. Check out at noon is a big plus. Spacious rooms in my opinion, with clean soft linens. Both the room and the bathroom are always clean. Always a Plasma tv, fridge and microwave in every room. Would defintely recommend this place to anyone!

    This is the only hotel I prefer staying at in SLO. The staff are very friendly and accomidating. Check out at noon yay!  Plus a plasma tv , mini fridge and microwave in every room I've stayed in woot woot.:) Reasonably priced and love sleeping in the clean comfy beds. I would definitely recommend this place to any one who is looking  to catch some zzzs  for the best deal in town :)!

La struttura è molto accogliente, le camere non molto grandi ma comunque comode, il servizio e la pulizia nella media. La colazione offerta è nella media, nella vicinanza ci sono vari pub, in particolare quello irlandese non è niente male.

    How in the world would this establishment get a 3 star plus. I gave it a 1 because I had no choice. This place is old and dated. Parking is horrible. Exercise facility is as big as a bathroom. Kids were riding bikes in the parking structure. I told Kevin at the front desk who stated he would go out and talk to mother of these kids, but he never did. One kid plowed his bike into a parked car and left a a two foot scratch from his handle bars. Grounds are dirty and unkept. Would never advise anyone to stay there.

The room was quiet, clean and nicely decorated, the staff was helpful and very friendly, the breakfast was good and it wasn't expensive.     Brandon is amazing! I've stayed here twice and have booked my stay again for Parents Weekend in October. This place does not disappoint. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. Stayed lower floor king room by pool and recently 3rd floor 2queens. Linens are clean, soft and comfortable. Obviously I would stay here again and recommend. Reasonably priced and just down the street from CalPoly. Continental breakfast was great-exactly as it's billed with fresh pastries, bread, fruits and cereal. I heard complaints on breakfast-maybe ppl don't know what continental breakfast is-hint: doesn't include eggs or waffles etc. Excellent location ofF freeway, near gas station for snacks/adult beverages and down the street from many restaurants for dining, across the street from Apple Farm. Most everything within walking distance. My only hesitation on recommending this place is I don't want it to get too popular and then the price will increase. Excellent value! See you in October Lexington Inn! Ps. For internet to work-open the browser-like most other hotels. Won't automatically connect or show option to connect (even when you go to settings) until you open your browser on iPhones. Husband has droid and automatically connected with prompt for password. iPad connected automatically because I had stayed here last time and it remembered the password.

    This motel is easy to reach, has free parking and clean rooms. We booked at 5pm for the same evening, so got a room with 2 queen size beds for $167. The check in staff were efficient and impersonal. Wifi coverage was extremely poor- we had to leave our room to be able to check anything online. The room and bathroom was nothing special. Breakfast consists of tea, coffee, toast (no decent jam, just an industrial grape jelly), cereals, apples and bananas, and sugary sweet cakes. All to be taken buffet style in reception, on paper plates, where there are no tables or places to rest - and 3 sofas. Disappointing.

    You can tell this was recently a Days Inn. The beds were not bad, but not good. The price was decent, and location couldn't be beat. it is rather difficult to find, though, so use a GPS for best results. NO breakfast (they say there is, but you don't wanna bother). A/C was in a cubby hole at end of room in the bathroom area, it was difficult to get the cool air into the sleeping area. Rooms were clean and had good towels. lots of issues with sinks/tub etc drain plugs hardware. Overall I would stay here again in a pinch.. but my fav hotel in SLO (and I've stayed in a lot of hotels here with a 4th yr college student at cal poly) was the ramada.

    Stayed here two nights on a busy labor day weekend. Staff was very friendly and professional. First impressions count and the minute I walked in the room I knew this was a hotel I can stay in again. The price was right. The room was huge! A lot bigger than most two queen rooms I've stayed in so that was a major plus! It was clean, great view, comfortable beds, updated furniture, and bathroom was private and away from the main room which is always great when you stay with a friend. The area feels safe, lots of families, close to the freeway and walking distance to restaurants. Wish they had bagels for breakfast though, but they did have some delicious scones. Great place to stay in SLO to relax.

    Brandon rocked! While we were there for an wedding and didn't know much about where to go or what to do, he was so helpful and guided us through! The place was clean, air conditioning worked great, pool was so nice and refreshing.... Couldn't say anything less then amazing! Will def. stay here again!

    So I booked a hotel last minute and the pictures on the website were so misleading. I arrived late at night. Was checked in by the night crew very swiftly. So that was appreciated. Get into room. So outdated. So not what I expected for 200 dollars. Right before bed, washing teeth notice I can't open drain to let water go through. What to do? Had to manually unplug it and stick something under for water to go through. Next morning at checkout I speak to Brandon about it. Expecting an apology and nope nothing. I'm just asked what room again. And I repeat it. I stand there waiting for a receipt as well. 2 minutes go by before I asked do I get a receipt. He's like no as he was doing other important things. I gotta tell you that was very disappointing. Everyone else was so friendly as we were walking out of room. The cleaning crew were just so down to earth. Then this kid just so bland and rude about not even caring to say I apologize for our hotel facilities not working. I'll get on it. I would never ever stay here based on how in need of a makeover this place needs and the service I got on the checkout.

    We usually stay at the Avila Beach for our family vacation. This time we tried SLO for a change.The Avila beach front hotel with ocean view or beach front 2 queen room usually cost us around $250 to $350 depending on the season. The executive 2 queen room at the Lexington Inn was $229 plus tax and fees. I've been in different hotels in many cities, but only this hotel wanted me to put down $50 security deposit! Really? Anyhow, I didn't see how they persuaded themselves to charge their room for $260 including tax and fees. Although the room was adequately spaced with some nice amenities, it was nowhere close to deserve that price. There was absolutely no view to look at except for the cars parked out on the street. The room was noisy because of the highway 101 passing by right next to the hotel. I thought the curtains had some decorative patterns but I realized they were just holes from old age! The continental breakfast was less than mediocre. They didn't have a separate breakfast area. We didn't want to ruin our apatite with mini muffins and hot chocolate, so we headed to Higuera Street to get some real breakfast which took us a few hours. We didn't have problem finding parking, but you may have hard time when it's high season. The free wifi they offer was so slow I just turned it off and used my phone's hot spot for wifi. It was way faster than their free wifi. Overall, it was OK to spend a few nights here, but the price ($260 including tax and fees) seems to be too high!

    Stayed at this hotel for only one night. Less than $100. It's no Madonna Inn but for the price we were happy. Room was clean and nice. The staff at night were really nice. The grounds are also nice. The only downfall is there was construction on the near by street that was loud at 0800am. Next time I come and visit for a short stay I would stay here again. Long stay probably not just because I like to stay in a little nicer of a place when visiting my alma mater lol.

    We reserved an executive 2 queen room at the lexington. When we showed up to check in with confirmation number and reservation in hand for an executive room, we were told that our room was given to someone else. They had no upgrades or executive rooms available for the night, and could do nothing to accommodate our reservation. When asked to speak to a manager, I was given the number for Diana, the operations manager for the hotel. After trying several days to reach her, was told she was at a national meeting for the hotel this week. So who is managing the hotel? The front desk was not able to answer my question. After settling for the most basic room (that's all they had), we came back to the hotel after dinner only to find there is no parking for us. Actually, there was no parking for many people staying at the hotel. We were told only that we could park on the street if we could find a spot. Left another message for Diana. Nothing back. So who is managing this hotel? There seemed to be only one front desk clerk with no authorization to fix the issues with our reservation at the hotel other than maid service. This is a pretty big hotel for one person to run. Still trying to reach a manager after several attempts. Should have left when we had the chance.

    Day 3 and no word from management on our issues. I was now told the manager is out the entire week for a staff meeting. I left several messages for Diana and no callbacks. From what I can tell there is only one person working here at a given time other than maid service.

    Lindo hotel. Pasamos solo una noche en Saluis Obispo de camino a Los Angeles y nos gusto mucho. Lindas habitaciones y desayuno basico pero bueno. Para pasar una noche nos parecion un muy lindo hotel. Lo recomiendo.

    If you need space, their suites offer pretty good rates. They're very roomy and can easily accommodate a large family or two small. I didn't actually stay here. My cousin booked the room and I drove up and came to her room to get ready for a wedding.

    When we pulled up to the hotel our spirits dropped a bit as it looked like another plain hotel on motel alley (I think it was a Days Inn at one point), but it turned out better than expected. Our room was very large and the bed provided a good night's sleep. Bathroom was clean, but needs a bit of a renovation job as it was plain. Room had a fridge, microwave and coffee machine, but no safe. There was also a flat screen TV, desk with chair, large closest with ironing board. The room was clean, but not upgraded, so I cannot complain. Free wi-fi. Laundry facilities on several floors ($1.50 to buy soap). There is also a BBQ on the premises if you want to pick up something and cook it yourself. Did not partake in the breakfast as there are so many funky cafes in San Luis Obispo that it would be a shame not to try one or two of them! Fitness room is sparse, so walk into town as your form of exercise! It's about a 15' walk into town but it is pleasant. While it's not the Savoy in Georgetown, DC, it was clean and service desk was always willing to help.

    I stayed at this hotel for one night, as part of a "road trip" in California. The accommodations are basic and clean. The air conditioning was not the greatest and very noisy. Though I didn't use the pool, it appeared to be clean and refreshing and nicely landscaped. It is a reasonably priced hotel (for California) for a decent 1 night stay while traveling 101 in CA.

    The Lexington Inn is located a bit of a walk from town but is very doable, it was a clean spacious room, small walk in closet!, lots of cupboards, very friendly staff, good parking out side or in carport. Will definitely stay again.

    The room is great, the location is fine, on motel row on the edge of town. Coffee pot, microwave, refrigerator in the room. However: The television reception is ridiculous. Only one or two stations come in clearly. CNN is almost completely snow. When I complained, they said, yeah, that's the way it is. They said that they need to get a new provider. This is inexcusable. Why have big, flat screen TVs and no reception? I haven't seen this bad of reception since the pre-cable days. They have nice amenities, like an iron and ironing board. But which are you likely to use more, an iron or a TV? And if you have, say, kids, and really want to be able to use the TV – this is definitely not the place for you. Wi-Fi is not actually free. The "free" Wi-Fi is so slow that I could not post this review from there. For normal Wi-Fi, you have to pay an extra $10 a night. My room smelled so strongly that I had to leave the door open for a while to clear it out. It smelled like someone had gone overboard with either cleaning supplies or air freshener. It was a pleasant smell, but way, way too strong, especially in the bathroom. Also, do check the rates online. I walked in, having checked the rates, and they wanted to charge me considerably more, and seemed not to believe me when I told them what their own website showed. I had to get them to look at their own website to see what rates they were advertising.

    O hotel precisa de uma reforma e remodelação, para aumentar o conforto oferecido. Mas está longe de ser uma má opção, já que o preço é um pouco mais barato que os demais. Parar quem deseja apenas pernoitar na agradável Sab Luis Obispo, não há o que temer. Quem procura mais luxo deve avaliar outra opção. O staff é bem simpático e pronto a ajudar. O café da manhã é bem fraco, o quarto em que fiquei era amplo, a cama boa, mas tudo um pouco velho e ar condicionado barulhento.

    Only 15 minutes walk from town centre makes the Lexington a very convenient yet affordable choice of accommodation in SLO. The hotel rooms are surprisingly comfortable - nicely furnished with a big flat screen TV and neat bathroom. A simple continental breakfast was provided as part of the price. Would recommend for travellers on a medium budget or those looking for good value.

    I've now stayed at the Lexington Inn two separate times. The main thing to realize before staying here is that it is the only 3 star hotel in SLO that has reasonable prices at a short notice. That is really what keeps me coming back here. There is also a pretty convenient tram that picks you up and takes you to downtown. The main drawbacks that I have noticed are the noise levels from other occupants. The rooms are not amazing and could use better lighting, but they are very clean and the beds are pretty comfortable. Based solely on price I would stay there again, there is really not a better option for an affordable hotel in San Luis Obispo.

    After our trip to Mexico, staying at Rosarito Beach Hotel, we were kind of worried of what we would find at the Lexington Inn. Will say we were pleasantly surprised. Room was clean, nice atmosphere, great patio. Quiet and relaxing. Love the place. Would definitely stay here again if ever in San Luis Obispo. Great Hotel and Affordable.

    close enough to downtown and very close to Cal Poly. I always ask for a room away from the freeway. Have found the counter staff to be very helpful and gracious. Rooms are clean, not fancy but good enough for the price we paid recently.

    The reviews of this "Inn" were so extremely varied (Trip Advisor, Yelp, Booking) my wife and I decided to take the chance for a one night stay. The higher price of hotels/motels in the area unfortunately made us focus on the positive review (we later found out that many posters said were made up). Big mistake. With our fingers crossed we checked in. Packed lobby and average clerk checked us in. Room was fine for the class of accommodation, even with old school TV, stained carpets, paper thin walls, etc. We weren't expecting the Kimpton or Mandarian Oriental. After entering room, while I was frustrated that internet signal was nearly non-existent and unusable, my wife noticed and became alarmed by (pubic?) hair on bed sheets and on sink vanity. When I called the front desk person to explain the gross situation, I was amazed that she had to come up to inspect and validate my claim. She nonchalantly asked if we wanted to change rooms. We said we did and waited for her to call us back with new room number and keys. Finally we tracked her down. She told us that there was no other room available (yeah, right, like she didn't know from the beginning) but if we wanted she would send in A housekeeper to change the sheets and sponge down the vanity. Since it was so late we agreed. (see photos). At checkout I asked the unkempt, nasty, counter clerk to speak to the manager. I almost fell over when this guy me told me that he was the owner. I explained the situation and he blew me off by taking my phone number and telling me with a nasty grin, when he finally looked up from his desk, that he would call me back once he "looks into the situation". He reluctantly gave me his name, Robert Mueller. I later found that his wife Pragna Patel-Mueller was manager and apparently owns other properties. We were super uncomfortable with our stay because of (pubic) hair, unusable wifi, crappy "breakfast", lack of adequate parking and above all the unprofessional, uncaring and hustle feel of the workers and management. While loading luggage in our car we took little comfort in other people bitterly complaining about one thing or another Stay Away from this place at All Cost!

    Вот таким и должен быть придорожный мотель: чисто, недорого и доброжелательно. Приехав поздно, не остались без внимания: ночной (?) портье все оформил и проводил в номер. Машину оставили на бесплатной стоянке. В номере уютно, есть холодильник, чайник, даже кухня небольшая. Выходишь из номера — вау, бассейн! И тихо-тихо) С утра накормили простым, но сытным (в самый раз в дорогу) завтраком. В районе 2000 рублей за все про все. Вышли из гостиницы, огляделись — еще и виды неплохие (горы). Недалеко заправка, наполнили бак, и снова в путь! Очень приличный вариант для того, чтоб переночевать по дороге, если ваш маршрут проходит недалеко.

    Bom hotel para quem deseja dividir a viagem da PCH. Hotel limpo, bem conservado e com um razoável café da manhã. Pena que eles não possuem refeitório e você é obrigado a comer no quarto ou próximo a piscina.

    I will definitely recommend this hotel and return here as well. They staff was awesome and very helpful. The continental breakfast was just enough to start the day and the rooms were clean and safe. It's almost like an apartment since it has the bar area with sink fridge and microwave. It's worth you wallet to stay here because it will thank you for it.

    This hotel is right on the highway on one side and the highway off ramp on the other. I stayed in the older building because I wanted to be as far as possible from the highway which is right behind the last building. My room was half-updated and half-out-of-date. I paid $110 a room with taxes and fees on 2 rooms on Dec 27 and 28. Good: Bed was comfortable Linens were fresh and bright white Towels were new, fresh and soft Two of the front desk people were very helpful, and looked up hike information and printed info from the internet for me. One of the front desk people did not care that I said the room needed some maintenance. OK: Continental breakfast is decent, but there are no indoor tables to eat at, so the small lobby gets crowded at 9 am. Has a small fridge and microwave in room. Microwave looked more than 10 years old. Most of the rooms in the old building do not have a balcony, so the room is tight and dark like the old motel it was. Walkable to downtown, but close to 1 mile, plan accordingly Bad: TV was a giant cube of a joke and got a lousy picture, 5 channels did not tune. Bathroom has no fan, so moisture and smells cannot be removed. Highway noise and road noise - I slept with ear plugs which solved it in the building I was in. Headboards pound walls when people in next room have sex (bad, unless you like that sort of thing and awkward with kids). The shower head is very low flow for water conservation and the tub did not seem to drain fast enough when I showered. This hotel would have been more satisfying at a lower price. I won't stay there again. I will stay on the other side of Monterey Avenue and 1/4 mile closer to downtown and farther from the highway.

    My main complaint is that this is not a three star hotel; its a two star, maybe a two and a half.   I believe the property is a converted apartment complex.   It took about twenty minutes to check in.  In today's automated world it shouldn't take more than a few minutes to check in; even with a couple people waiting in front of you.   The first room had a smoker in it and we requested a change.   But really, didn't the cleaning staff know this earlier.  Why put me through it? The room was cheap.  I guess I got what I paid for.

    Finally a hotel with the price as it should! For $60 this is what it should be, and makes it perfect for one or several nights in town. The staff very friendly and helpful, the rooms clean but kind of old. Surprisingly the rooms are big and has a kitchen. Locationwise, it looks like being out of town, but actually a 2 minute drive brings you right into downtown. Only problem I saw was the very limited parking (but we had no problem).

    Great stay. This place is simple. It is a decent hotel with everything I needed. It came with clean bedding and towels, privacy, feeling of security, plenty of parking, free breakfast, wifi, TV, pool/hot tub, and within walking distance to downtown SLO. The only gripe I have is that the workout room was out of commission and even if it were operating it looked pretty drab. Bottom Line: I would recommend this to anyone looking for a comfortable bed without hassle or a high price tag.

    A good one night stay if you're desperate.  The room had an old smell and the room was very outdated.  The fridge wasn't working and no one was able to help.  However they were willing to store my food after I asked for the accommodation.  They didn't think to make the suggestion themselves.  Not happy with my stay and would not stay here again in the future.  Hotel needs a make over.

    We found this hotel ideal for our needs at a budget price - a stop-over while driving the scenic coastal Highway One. It was comfortable and the complimentary casual breakfast was appreciated. The town of San Luis Obispo is nearby and worth a look - the Madonna Hotel and Bubble Gum Alley are interesting!!

    I stayed here over Veterans Day weekend.  I was a little confused, cause I made the reservation at Days Inn, but got a confirmation for this place.  Anyway, I got here really late Saturday night and got the last room, the place was packed. The first thing I noticed was the room smelled very fresh, not all musty and gross like some rooms do when you walk in.   The bed spread was actually a nice bright clean white, not grey, off-white, or dingy.  It wasn't torn, stained, and there weren't any worn spots.  These things are usually a hazmat situation, but this one even smelled freshly washed.  Nice!!!  My son's bed was in a little room down a hall past the bathroom, and it was just as clean. The rug was clean, no bits of goo, or weird crap to walk on; I hate that!!  I could actually walk around in here and feel pretty safe that nothin nasty would stick to my feet. The shower was great, and there was no lack of hot water.  We did have to ask for extra towels, but no big deal. The cable leaves a bit to be desired, but who cares?  I didn't come here to watch tv.  No problems with wifi.   We never hit the breakfast, too many good places to eat in SLO, but there was always hot coffee in the lobby. Not a bad place to stay.

    Not sure why this place has 3.5 stars... this is pretty comparable to Motel 6 and it isn't much to look forward too. The rooms are very outdated and the A/C unit is located in the "closet" near the bathroom, no where near the living space. Bed was comfortable and clean but that's pretty much it. Free breakfast in the morning wasn't much to look forward too... it consisted of cold cereal, danishes, plain white toast and fruit. It is located in a great area which was a plus. Next time, we will probably stay somewhere else, as this wasn't worth the cost of the room at $120+ .

    Fiquei com a minha família, 4 pessoas, em um quarto e o que mais me chamou a atenção foi o quanto o quarto era grande e cheio de espaços e armários úteis. Apesar de simples o quarto estava bem limpo e agradável. Não tive muito contato com os funcionários mas todos pareciam bem educados. A localização é ótima.

    The facility is a little worn, but the room was clean, and we had a nice view of the nearby hills. The AC worked fine, and one window also opened for fresh air if you preferred that option. The towels were large and fluffy, but there were 4 of us, and they only provided 3 each day we stayed. (Additional towels were happily provided upon request, however.) The interior bathroom fan apparently stays on all the time, but it ran fairly quietly, so this was not an issue for us. The wi-fi was a little sketchy; we initially had trouble accessing it, and then we found that we could only have one device turned on at a time, otherwise someone would get booted off. Really? The parking lot is a bit small for the number of rooms they have, and we did see some people searching for parking on the street. The staff was pleasant and helpful, and fresh coffee was available at ALL hours in the lobby!

    Stayed here last week and the room was large and comfy. Beds were quite comfortable and staff was pleasant. Good location for access to Cal Poly, Downtown and Hwy 101. One downside was that the parking lot is not were big and on a Friday night all the spaces were filled and I had to park on the street, but no troubles. Would stay here again.

    The best deal you're going to find in San Luis Obispo ($100/night) if you don't want to stay in a dump. The hotel was clean and the beds were super comfortable. Plus, it's walking distance to downtown! Can't beat it. Only downside is no breakfast or vending machines - there is a gas station across the street with snacks if you're desperate.

No teniamos ninguna reserva y de los 5 hoteles que vimos el Lexington era el mejor en relacion precio-calidad. La habitacion que nos dieron era muy comoda y limpia. El desayuno sencillo pero rico. Solo nos hospedamos una noche.

    Rooms: clean, big; sink was outside the bathroom, which was something I found really nice. The beds were comfortable. Service: The woman on the front desk was really really nice. She helped us with our route, gave us suggestions where to eat and visit. She was one of the friendliest persons we happened to meet on our journey. Breakfast: There wasn't really enough space for all the guests to eat in the breakfast room, but that wasn't really a problem since we could outside (it was really warm when we were there). Breakfast was the same as you get in every motel. I really liked the bagels. We only stayed for one night. If I'll ever come back to San Luis Obispo, I'll definitely stay again in this hotel. Theere was also a pool and an whirlpool, which looked really inviting. The next time I'll definitely have to check them out.

    The staff were very helpful and courteous, Air Conditioning did not work, older hotel, but staff promptly brought us a fan. Building old, room could have been cleaner, location was 5 minute drive to downtown. The Apple Farms bakery across the street is not the best choice if you want a good cup of coffee. The bakery was limited, it was more a shop and diner. Continental breakfast at hotel was decent with fresh fruit, good coffee and baked goods.

    This is our second time staying at the Lexington. The first time, I was impressed with the staff and nice location, but noted the beat up rooms. Thought we'd give it another try. Well, the hotel has gotten much worse. We will only stay there if no other hotels are available. This time, the four of us were among the many families dropping off our new Cal Poly student for the week of welcome. We checked in at the Lexington and were almost laughing at the shape of our room. First, the bathroom fan was so loud that it sounded like a helicopter. Looking up at the fixture, we could see the lamp vibrating like crazy. How do the housekeeping staff not notice these things? Second, the beds were lumpy and really uncomfortable. Third, looking out our window, we had this bizarre view of a creepy storage shed between us and the freeway. There were four of us checked in, but we were given only two towels. For the second day of our stay, housekeeping replaced only the two towels and didn't give us new shampoo or soap, despite our using up what was originally there. As I noted previously, the lobby is nice, but it's deceptive. Once out of the lobby, the grounds are in bad shape. And the place seems to attract smokers. They were all around the buildings. If you do have to stay at this place, request the main building. The back building close to the freeway (where we stayed this time) is just terrible -- extremely noisy. Finally, the desk staff spend an inordinate amount of time on the phone and simply ignore guests waiting. From what I can tell, if the Lexington weren't so close to Cal Poly, it would quickly fail. Our worst hotel experience ever.

    Because of an accidental overbooking on the part of another local hotel, my girlfriend and I were sent here for a one night stay. First, they told us there were no rooms available with a single king bed, and we were sent to a room that was already occupied! The front desk was very disorganized, and then sent us to the only room available, a room normally reserved for guests with disabilities. The room was spacious with a comfy bed and nice shower, however, the bathroom itself was grimy, the bed sheets were itchy, and the toilet didn't flush very well. Another major problem was the Wi-Fi. The hotel advertises free wifi, but we were unable to connect in our room, likely because we were very far from the lobby. So don't expect great Internet access. The continental breakfast was weak, and during checkout the front desk was not helpful at all when we informed her about our complaints. Overall, I would never stay here again, and would not recommend this budget motel to anyone.

Yo lo hice y los precios por la misma habitación valían 30$ menos justo el día anterior a la llegada Pedí que me actualizaran el precio y me dijeron que no era posible porque ya lo había reservado costando 30$ mas por lo mismo.     This is a reliable, clean and courteous "stop gap" hotel if you are on your way past town or need somewhere central to make a base. The huge King bed was very comfortable and clean. It had a fridge and coffee maker and offers simple inclusive breakfast which involves a quick basic coffee and muffin to set you on your way. You wouldn't hang out in the reception area, but the pool is good and the receptionist was absolutely lovely - we actually forgot some food in the fridge and she kindly saved it and waited for me to come by and get it. The bathroom was a bit worse for wear, but was basic and worked and the room was big with a tube TV.

    Situated on the edge of San Luis Obispo, straight off the freeway so easy to find, this hotel was an absolute gem, and so cheap it's amazing. The staff here are so friendly and helpful, and helped us arrange a call back to the UK which we were struggling to make. We had a room overlooking the pool which was a bonus as the boys went for a swim so we could see them, there is a hot-tub also. Room was well equipped and spotlessly clean, free parking on site. Breakfast served via reception which can be taken back to your room if you wish, or sit out and eat. This is a fifteen minute walk into the lovely town of San Luis Obispo, which is well worth a visit, packed with excellent bars and shops - don't miss bubblegum alley either. We ate at an "Irish" bar 2 minutes from the hotel which had a great menu and beer range.

    Prima hotel voor kort verblijf, voor lang verblijf; saai. Kamer was netjes en schoon. Ontbijt is niet bijzonder maar er is toast en juice. Omgeving is niet bijzonder maar wel restaurants op loopafstand. Lopend naar downtown kan maar is 20+ min lopen. Er gaat ook een shuttle tot 6pm. Eet tip: California Pizza Kitchen, Downtown; leuke, vernieuwende kaart en heerlijke pizza's en salades. Snelle, nette bediening.

    Diana at the front desk is very friendly and accommodating. She gave us a choice of a couple of different rooms. However, we realized upon checking into our room that the beds and towels had been used already. EW! Diana had housekeeping come in right away and remedy this. The coffee is your typical stale motel coffee. The WiFi is a joke! So slow, it's pretty much useless. Pluses are the in-room mini fridge, the balcony with a nice view, and the easy freeway access.

    If the give you a room anywhere near the office you will most likely have to listen to the laundry noise all night. I am not sure why they gave us a room over the laundry room when there were so many other rooms available. The breakfast was as much food as they could fit onto 2 small table, supposed to be ready by 6 AM, we had to wait until 6 45 AM. I will not stay here again.

    As there was a Willie Nelson concert in town, everything was sold out. This was economical, and you can tellf they have taken care to keep it clean & up to date. However, the bed killed our backs. I had a massage between the two nights, so I could face night #2!

    We stayed here for a couple days for a destination wedding we were attending. The inn is a great value. The rooms are currently under refurbishment so some things are a bit off. Our room was very spacious. New carpet. New molding. New tile in shower. The walls are still original and need to be retextured. The edges have some dings from luggage no doubt that needs to be looked at. The bed was very comfortable (probably the most important thing). The sink and counter need to be replaced. The fixtures are very worn down to the brass. The toilet needs to be replaced also. I assume all of these are in progress since new tile was done. Also our room had a old tube tv that could barely be seen. Our friends arrived for one night and none of the refurbishments were done except a new very small for room flat screen and a fridge with microwave. Either way ammenities were good. Beds very comfy. Breakfast was good. Overall great place to stay for the price.

    Anyway, upon carrying my luggage up the stairs to the room, I found it quite hot & stuffy. I also found toilet paper in the toilet??? I attempted to turn on the air conditioner but the fuse tripped every time I pressed on. I was so tired I decided to open the window and see if that would cool the room. This was not a safe option as anyone could push the large screen in and enter the room from the walkway. However, in my exhaustion I fell asleep (with my clothes still on). In the morning I noticed about five black swirls on the mirror in the bathroom. Then, I noticed black marks on the floor. I swiped these with a wet kleenex and they came up. The floor was simply uncleaned. Upon exiting the bathroom I then noticed blood marks near the door jamb. Then, upon exiting the room, I saw more blood marks at the exit door handle. YUCK! Clearly this room had not been cleaned since the prior occupant. The mirror simply needs to be replaced as it is laminated in several places - a very inexpensive maintenance item. I have never in my life been provided a room in such disgusting condition. I told the receptionist and she seemed genuinely disgusted but said there was noting she could do and to please contact you when I got home. To top all this off, I just received my mastercard bill and was charged double for the room - even after I addressed this issue at check in!

    I am originally from SLO and my family still lives in the area. We frequently travel from southern Cal to northern cal and we love to travel along the Hwy 1 via Big Sur to visit family. This quaint but stylish place is located in the perfect middle stopping point, enabling us to rest and refresh before travelling on albeit toward the north or on our journey back homeward bound in the south of Cali. The service here is always excellent and all the personnel are very genuinely courteous especially Depech the front desk clerk who happened to check us in for the 4th of July trip we recently spent there, she was above and beyond the normal level of service not only to us but to other guests as we observed her going the extra mile and giving guests access to boiled water for their baby's needs and escorting another guest in need of security on a late night walk back to their room. All said and done this hotel is clean, large and offers the consistent amenities we travelers are accustomed to in this modern day. We recommend you give the place a stay, you will enjoy the experience.

    Fantastic Hotel. Clean, beautiful and the breakfast is complimentary and great. Wifi is free but the best of the best is the team in the  hotel.  Bettina is the most professional person in the hotel business. Always smiling, available and  make your stay memorable. Our daughter is a CalPoly student and we were staying before at Bestwestern . Thanks to Betty we will always stay at the Lexington.

    We frequently travel to San Luis Obispo to visit family. Due to other hotels being completely sold out, we tried the Lexington Inn for the first time. The room was clean, with the window closed the room was quiet, with the window open we could hear the nearby highway, bed was very comfortable, elevator was a nice plus, desk clerks were very friendly and parking was limited. Breakfast was pretty basic ... however, everything was fresh (coffee, tea, hot chocolate, juices, milk, water, cereal, english muffins, rolls and plenty of fresh fruit). We an upgraded "non-smoking executive suite room" based on the Lexington web site photo showing a suite with a separate bedroom. We were surprised and disappointed when we walked into one large room (not a suite) that had a desk, refrigerator, love seat and microwave. When we discussed the "suite" with the front desk, we were told that there is quite a variety of room configurations and it would be best in the future to call the hotel directly for reservations in order to book specific rooms. Bottom line ... we slept well and will most likely stay at the Lexington Inn again in the future, but we will book via telephone instead of internet.

    I can't say much about this unfriendly hotel. They do not honor their word. I made a reservation to stay there on a Thursday in April of '13. I called to cancel my reservation and was informed that I had just missed the 48-hour cancellation window, and that they would be charging me the $89 anyway, but they would credit me that amount for a future stay. I agreed to that offer, thinking I'd just have to go out of my way to stay there again in the summer... and I let it go. Just now called to book a night's reservation for July using my credit. Although they located the record of my "no show" (cancellation) in April and confirmed I'd been charged for the stay, they refused to honor the promised credit and said they had no record of that - I spoke with the Manager who insisted that I must've been misinformed by someone (else) who works at the hotel. They refused to honor the credit... BTW, they ended up being fully booked that night I canceled; someone else stayed in the room I'd reserved and they charged me $89 as well.  For the record, I did cancel 24+ hrs in advance, but not quite 48hrs, given that the original reservation was to for an evening arrival due to our late night drive.

    The room was large and clean. The furnishings and fixtures are a bit outdated but they are renovating the hotel so these may be updated. The bathroom was clean, the carpet seemed brand new. The bedding seemed new as well. The staff was very friendly, and the location was good. My only complaints were the lack of parking - my husband and I arrived very late and lucked out to find an empty parking space. There are 75 rooms and only about 50 spaces. My other complaint was the noise - not from other rooms, I only heard my neighbors once. it was the traffic noise that I couldn't believe. They may want to consider new, sound proof windows. I would definitely stay here again if I visit SLO in the future.

    Stayed for a few nights. Bed was good. Bedding was fine. Air-cond worked. Front desk was helpful. room and bathroom was clean. Furniture was in good condition. Breakfast area is fine. Breakfast choices are limited.

    Stayed there only one night, but had trouble sleeping because of the firm bed & terribly hard pillows. (Strained our necks!) I think the bed would be ok, if not for the pillows. Very clean, spacious, upgraded room in a quiet corner on the first floor. Sink didn't drain. Old style TV. Lg. bathroom w/good lighting, which allowed for me to read in there while my husband slept. Frig/microwave good touches. Shorted us on cups, but not replaced readily. Good coffee. Weak shower. Great location! If we stay there again, I'll bring my own pillows.

    A colleague and I stayed here 2 weeks ago when we visited SLO on business. The rooms were very spacious, clean and extremely comfortable. Had breakfast on the patio and enjoyed the flowers and tropical atmosphere. Only drawback was that it was a little hard to find. Map said one thing, but street name wasn't the same. We found it by driving around the block. Good stay all in all.

    My daughter and I stayed here for the Cal Poly open house. As other reviews note, the Lexington is at a good location, about a ten minute easy walk to the campus. Going in the other direction, a similar distance to Higuera St downtown. Once we parked at the Lexington, we just walked everywhere we needed to go. In addition, the hotel is right across the street from the Apple Farm, which was great for breakfast. Following Monterey St, there are lots of close by restaurants. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Parking is easy and the lobby is small but presents well. The pricing is decent and we were pleasantly surprised to be put in a suite so we each had a separate room. On the down side, the rooms are dated and poorly maintained. There were stains on the carpet and bed spreads (but the sheets were clean). Our shower had peeling paint. Electrical wires were plugged into power strips hanging from wall outlets. It doesn't seem like it would take much to get the rooms in decent order. My guess is that they get enough Cal Poly business that they don't have to worry about keeping the rooms in top shape. We will likely stay there again, but will probably also shop around a bit to find something better maintained.

    We stayed at this hotel while visiting Cal Poly SLO for their open house. We had stayed at a different hotel on an earlier visit but this will be my "go to" for all future visits. My son and I walked to Cal Poly to avoid dealing with parking, 10 minute easy walk. Front desk was extremely helpful. They recommended we take the trolley, which picks up across the street, to attend the Thursday night Farmers Market. At $.50 per person that was an awesome suggestion.

    Just revisited the recepit... still pissed. Travelers beware. Its booking price is deceptive via 3rd party online. I've booked this hotel as many hotels online via 3rd party. All other hotels have been listed with the final price for price comparison except this one. Expect to pay close to 15% more when checked out. That amout to $10-15 per day per room. Still looking for a bargain here?

    We went to SLO to check out Cal Poly and go on a tour. With the 4 hour drive down there we wanted to spend the night, rather than trying to drive early in the morning to be at the 9:10 am tour. I wanted a low price, (under $100 inc tax for the 4 of us) free breakfast, close to the campus location, and a clean & QUIET place so I could be well rested for walking around all day long on the numerous tours. This place was all that I was looking for. They did have a pool which we didn't use, a good continental breakfast including fresh fruit, and the room was basic and small but clean. I asked for a 3rd (top) floor and it was very quiet. I would stay again.

    I was very pleased with this motel. It was clean and the rooms were large. It had the biggest closet I have seen in a hotel room. It was close to the Thursday Market. Free parking and internet made me very happy. It was a little outdated ala 90s, but it was clean. My only gripe was the carpet needed shampooing, it felt cruddy underfoot. I should emphasize everything else was clean, the carpet just didn't feel right to me. I never got to the pool, so I can't speak to it. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a place to stay in SLO on a budget.

Breakfast was decent for an American continental breakfast; there were muffins and danishes (albeit store bought and a little unappetizing), juices, cereals, oatmeal, fruit, English muffins, etc. We do have a few complaints: the shower pressure was weak, the faucet leaked a little, the in-room coffee tasted like paper, the AC is VERY loud (but it works!), and the TV was not a flat screen (we didn't watch the TV but it gave an old feel to the room). Also, I think we got the smallest room in the complex so it wasn't particularly spacious but it was comfortable enough for two people. Despite these complaints, I would probably stay here again because our other choices are crappy motels for less than $60 or spending over $100 for a nicer hotel. Location is great if you have a car, as it is right next to the freeway and easy driving distance to downtown San Luis Obispo and surrounds. However, there isn't much within walking distance of the hotel except other hotels and motels. Overall, I definitely recommend this hotel to travelers who don't want to stay in a cheap motel but don't want to spend over $100 for a solid room.

    Not being familiar with the Lexington Brand my husband and I didn't really know what to expect. I'm really finicky about hotel cleanliness and the bedding. I was pleased by the overall appearance of the property, i.e. pretty landscaping and nice pool area, and we even had a private patio area with 2 loungers in a little alcove off our patio door! I was surprised by how large the room was, and the linens used on the bed - these were the type of linens you would see in a 4 or 5 star hotel (high thread count, duvet covers and super soft sheets.) I'd go back simply for the bed - it was that comfy! The hotel is very convenient to town and the staff were very helpful in suggesting things to do and places to eat. Breakfast is included and my husband brought back some nice tea and scones to the room. I would definitely stay here again - especially in comparison to the other properties in the area and their pricing. Don't underestimate the Lexington - it was a great stay for a moderately priced hotel!

    Nice stay, nothing fancy but it wasn't dated. Best part is that it was very clean. Bed was too soft for me but the rest of my family was happy. Great location for visiting my daughter at CalPoly. I would stay here again without question.

    We were travelling from San Francisco to Los Angeles and we made a stop to sleep in San Luis Obispo. We choose this hotel due to we like the room and the price was correct. Room was very nice and it was connected via a terrace with our friend's room. Complete breakfast but with no place to take it, you should go to your room or take it in the lobby sofa. Overall is a great hotel for a night during travel. It has also free internet wireless access in all rooms.

    We were there with a group of people, so I got to see a variety of rooms. Ours was a third floor queen with a small kitchenette, but other friends had a ground floor rooms that were noisy and cramped. I'd definitely ask for something on the 2nd or 3rd floor, and in the annex building (I think these are newer rooms; you have to walk through small parking lot to get to it). Staff was friendly; we had to switch rooms because our TV didn't work, and they were efficient about that. The room itself felt a bit dated, but it was clean. Internet was spotty, which wasn't great for business travel. The hotel is located next to a busy intersection, so there is road noise. It's within walking distance of some good restaurants, but it's too far to walk downtown. We got a good deal on our rooms, so it was worth it. If prices approach what other hotels are asking, I'd probably go elsewhere.

    Clean and large room for a good price - complete with fridge, microwave and comfortable bed. Continental breakfast was ok and we couldn't get the wifi to work but we'd definitely go back - well worth the cost.

    I asked for a quiet room when we checked in and were put on the 3rd floor. The lady in the front office was nice and accommodating. She gave us a quiet and scenic room. The room was spacious with 2 comfortable queen size beds. It contained a small refrigerator and microwave, desk with chair and small table with 2 chairs with plenty of room to spare. The internet was slow at times but dependable. The vanity sink was outside the bathroom, which was convenient, but was old and patched. The TV was an older model with a less than clear picture. It was great to spend a quiet night here and move on with our trip. If our room was more updated, I would have given it another star. As it was, it was comfortable and basic.

    We stayed here on our way back to San Diego from San Francisco. While the room was big, the bathroom was tiny! We were in a back building that looked like it used to be apartment complexes, and the decor looked like it was from the 80's. There was also all this spare furniture in there, like an old computer desk, which was weird. But it was quiet, clean, and close to the freeway.

    i travel to SLO for business often and always stay at the Lexington. The staff is always friendly and helpful. They just updated the rooms too, so there are flat screens tv's, a fridge and microwave. The beds are comfy and clean. They also provide a very yummy free breakfast. Coffee, toast, muffins, and juice. All at a reasonable price too.

    The room is located at the North end of town with lots of similar facilities. They have a pool, spa & exercise room. Pool area is unlit at night. Not bad, just not distinctive. Our room was fine, bed comfy, patio a bonus, price was competitive.

    The employees spied on us the whole time, like 10 employees every time we walked out the door... I think they are running a scheme with their washing machine, making it look like customers broke it. They also ripped us off of our 100 dollar cash deposit. Horrible, rude service, the worst.... EVER... And their televisions are from 1984, and they only get 6 channels, right down the road was a motel 6 for 49.95, with better rooms and privacy. The Lexington is a total scam run by shady landlords. I would rather sleep with a rattle snake...

    We were given a good rate, but...it seems it was because we were put in the handicap room near a dirt wall. The shower water was luke warm. When I asked for another room, they offered us one that smelled musty. I put up with luke warm water for 3 nights. Yuk. In their behalf, the room was roomy with two bedrooms, a nice bathroom size, and the staff were very pleasant. The bed and pillows were fine. And, the morning breakfast was adequate. I thought I saw decent ratings on them, but apparently I did not check tripadvisor. They say there are plans for remodeling. It can use it.

    We found this place on our way home from SF. The price was fair and service at the front desk was friendly and accommodating. Aside from that, the room itself felt dated. Smaller t.v., poor reception of cable t.v., small bathroom with a light that required a knob, which I think was on a timer. Perhaps we were spoiled by our hotel in SF which had a homier feel, but I would still say this place is dated. The room was spacious and had a larger refrigerator, which was a huge plus. Overall, the hotel wasn't bad, I just didn't feel cozy in the room.

    We stopped here on our drive up the coast from LA to SF. The price was right ($80/night) and I guess we got what we paid for- the room looked clean but felt less so. The room's terrace was connected to another room, which made us a little uncomfortable. The shower water was lukewarm at best. I think it was move-in weekend for Cal Poly students so perhaps they were busier than normal? Overall, just okay, but we spent about the same amount of money on hotel rooms in other cities on the coast, and they were nicer.

    Location to Cal Poly can't be beat, but will give it one more chance before putting this on my don't-stay list. Reasons include poor shades that kept the room too bright when trying to sleep, noise from the parking lot and neighbors (cars and people were fine, but the place has thin walls), musty smell in the room ... it's obvious the place was a Days Inn before, meaning just above Motel 6 quality. TripAdvisor said rooms have flat screens, but not the two rooms we got.

    I won't bore you with a long story as most of the other posts coverd everything. Take note some rooms do not have a fridge and microwave as I discovered. Room was your basic room looked clean. Bathroom is on the small side and dated just like the room. The hotel is not within walking distance of downtown but you take the trolley... Stop is right across the street if you do t wish to drive or indulge in adult beverages.

    Firstly, let me say that overall this motel is great. The room was clean and pleasant, and the motel provided exactly what we needed for a stop between LA and SF. We stayed one night only. However, we used the pool and discovered AFTER swimming that the strange pooey smell was actually poo, stuck on the side of the pool at water level. Let's just say I had a long shower after that. I can't let that get in the way of a generally nice time though. And the pool was lovely. Especially the poo-less hot tub. If you book through booking.com make sure you take note of if you've paid or not. We thought we had and got a nasty surprise at check in.

    Staff is very nice ( lady working there on July 26 a bit before 7pm was super friendly and professionnal), hotel is great for the price ! No surprise cost, we paid exactly what we expected ! (which is nice ! ) Not super fancy but very clean room and bathroom, pretty good size and big comfy bed ! Just what you need after a day on the road ! We didn't get enough time to go to the pool but it is very cute ! I would definitely go back again !

    We normally stay at another hotel but this was half the price. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was just fine for a quick start. The room was clean and it was nice to have a mini kitchen with microwave. This is not a glamorous motel but it certainly was worth paying the same for 2 nights as I would have paid for one. Call direct to book and tell them you have a Cal Poly student.

    We had a one night stop over at the Lexington on our way back to Vegas. I was a little apprehensive about staying in a motel rather than a hotel but have to say was pleasantly surprised at the comfort and cleanliness of the Lexington Inn. Plenty of parking,check in was a breeze and our two double bedded room on the third floor was more than adequate for our one night stay. It was clean,quiet, the beds were very comfy, the bathroom was loaded with clean towels, there were coffee making facities and even a fridge. We had the pool and hot tub to ourselves and were even given pool towels. The complimentary breakfast the following mornng was exceptional, fresh fruit, bagels, toast, oatmeal, cereals, tea, coffee, fruit tea and juice what more can you ask for. We drove into the centre of San Luis Obispo parking was easy by the mission and what we saw of the town looked very nice, plenty of shops and restaurants. We tried Luna Red a spanish tapas restaurant which had indoor and outdoor seating. The food was excellent, very tasty and there was plenty of it. What I thought was going to a tough night turned out to be a really good night. We would definitely recommend the Lexington Inn.

    They have go to rethink their pet friendly rooms. The beds were terrible and my dog left with fleas, we didn't bring in I am sure of that. I asked if they had grass and were nice and told yes to both question and I was terribly mislead. The continental breakfast was also petiful. We would have been better of at a motel 6, they were less than honest about their accomodations. Sharalynn Culy

    I was referred to this place since I was staying in the area for the weekend. Once I walked in the lobby I was greeted by Diana and another staff member. She was very friendly and helpful accommodating my stay despite not having a reservation. I didn't get to partake in the breakfast, but I will be back to have a bagel on my next visit. The room was very clean and spacious. There was also a little balcony that overhangs some plants and you can also hear the birds chirping in the morning. The entire staff was helpful and there was plenty of parking. I'll definitely be staying again on my next visit to SLO. Guest at Room 222

    We stayed at the Lexington Inn for a one night stop over in San Luis Obispo. It has fairly basic amenities, and is not centrally located, but this is adequately reflected in the price. Seemed to be a problem finding our booking for two rooms made through Expedia, so check in took longer than expected. Rooms were clean, had complimentary wifi, and came well provisioned with refreshments and toiletries. However the included continental breakfast wasn't particularly appetising, so we went elsewhere. The pool looked nice, although we didn't get time to check it out properly. Location-wise it's fine and it seemed popular with truckers as is close to the turn off to the freeway, while downtown San Luis Obispo is a leisurely 15-20 minute down hill walk away. But if we were staying longer in SLO, we would have definitely wanted to book somewhere more central.

    I made my reservation in San Luis Obispo by the Expedia site. Unfortunately, when I got in the hotel, the attendant didn't find it easy. The hotel is ok, but I' ve found a little bit of dust. I think the bathroom was clean, but it seems to be old. Needs refurbishment. A couple of friends could listen footsteps from the room upstairs...

    So many things wrong with this hotel. Dirty, small, expensive. Paid $145/night and put into old building. Room very old and dated, Was supposed to be a "suite" but very small and less room than in an average 2 queen bed hotel room. 2nd room had 1 queen bed, small closet, desk, no TV and could barely walk around bed to get to other side because the room was only about 6 inches larger than the bed. Only closet was in 2nd bedroom, no closet in main room. "Kitchenette" was just a free-standing sink at end of room with no soap or towels, and mini-fridge with microwave on top. Looked odd. No walk-in closet as previous reviewer had. Bathroom did not have a fan and did not have a separate sink area outside bathroom as another review stated. Very small sink with little counter space. Towel rack positioned above toilet and towels kept falling off rack and into toilet. Phone did not work. Coffee maker in room did not work. Very dark, had a few lamps in room but no plugs so were not plugged in. 2 alarm clocks in room but no plugs available to plug them in. Extremely slow internet. Ironing board had iron holder screwed to it on top so couldn't iron. Iron cracked and water leaked. One of the beds dirty with lots of long black hairs on sheets and pillows, were definitely not changed prior to our arrival. Pillows lumpy and hard, mattresses old and uncomfortable. Fridge too cold and all our drinks froze overnight. Pool dirty, full of leaves and debris, spa water green. Sounds like the newer building in back is much better, and for the premium price we paid we should have been put into a much nicer room. Our room was small, musty, dirty, dated, and only worth about 1/3 what we paid.

    The motel was clean but not too modern. They did provide a continental breakfast but there was no place to eat it. No tables just couches in the lobby. The night we were there they switched over to new ownership and it's now a Lexington hotel. They couldn't print a receipt because the computer system was out of whack.

    We had a family emergency in SLO so needed a place for 3 adults to stay for 6 nights. After stopping at several hotels along the way trying to find a reasonably priced room, we stopped at the Days Inn, negotiated with the front desk & got a great deal, abt. $60 a night before taxes, etc. All the other hotels wanted almost twice as much & most were already booked for Fri & Sat. nights. Our room was on the second floor [ there is an elevator] of a back building, with covered exterior entry. The room was large with 2 queen beds, a kitchenette [ small frig, sink & micro. ], good sized tub/shower/wc room, separate from sink area so that 2 people could privately use them simultaneously. There was also a big walk-in closet to store the 3 big suitcases. Although the kitchenette was not stocked with anything other than a coffee maker & we didn't actually "cook" anything, it was nice to have. There is also a nice gas grill and covered patio with tables and chairs outside this building. The carpet looked new, and the room & bathroom were very clean. The room was cheerful with sliding glass doors onto a private balcony with chairs. Even though we were there for 6 days, the room was cleaned, new sheets & towels put on each day. Everything worked well & the free wifi was very good. There were at least 4 pillows on each bed. The mattress on our bed could have been firmer but I like really firm beds. Our room was quiet, it was on the end with the windows on the road but we rarely heard a siren or any noise while trees & shrubbery served as a nice buffer. Since it was Feb., it was too cool to go in either the small pool or hot tub which were at some distance from our room. Although filled with water, they did not look like they had been recently cleaned & were not inviting, anyway. The "fitness" center had 2 machines, a tv, desk, water cooler, towels, a nice room. Unfortunately the treadmill was out of order the entire time we were there. There is plenty of parking including covered parking under the building we stayed in. The laundry room is tiny with one washer & dryer, each cost $1.50 to operate, & they do a good job. A continental breakfast was included in this great price with good coffee on offer all day and night, a real plus for us. Breakfast is in the lobby which has limited seating & was crowded with co-eds on the weekend. Breakfast included 2 fruit juices, milk, whole fresh apples & oranges, corn flakes and something like fruit loops & packs of oatmeal. There was hot water for the oatmeal which wasn't hot enough & no container available to actually cook the oatmeal in the micro. [We should have picked up an inexpensive coffee cup to cook it in.] There is a toaster for toast & bagels and some very good pastries. We really enjoyed the scones. The desk staff was exceptional! Very friendly and helpful - some of the best we've encountered & that includes expensive hotels. We had to send and receive faxes which they did for us at no cost. They also printed our boarding passes at no cost. There is no public computer/printer. The location is convenient at the end of town, off Monterrey St., very near the route 110 ramp. It is also near Cal Poly. The SLO trolley, 50 cents/person, stops close by to go downtown for Thursday evening farmer's market, although it is a nice walk, too. There are several eateries within walking distance. We walked to Pappy McGregor's Pub & Grill twice for dinner where we had great meals and loved the atmosphere. We will definitely go back there. This was our first experience with a Days Inn & it was all good. Most people will only stay here a day or 2 but we were thankful to find such a reasonable, well run & maintained hotel for our lengthy stay.

    Meh. Been to SLO a few times now in the last four months. I'm not sure why, but the lodging  selection is not that great throughout the area. You'd really have to pay a lot more to get something on par with a decently appointed room. A couple pluses: Big room, Comfortable bed, enough pillows for two. Sparse on linen and towels first night, adequate for second. Breakfast is typical for this level. Enough parking. Right off freeway. Negatives: Right off freeway. Shower that had a prostate problem. Could not adjust clock. Hairdryer that kept shutting off. Coffeemaker not functioning. Automatice wake up phone call that rings twice and goes to voice mail (!). The price was right, but lots of reasons why the price is what it is.

    Had a great stay with my daughter at this hotel. Booked a last minute get away over 3-day holiday (Feb. 18, 19 & 20) to check out Cal Poly SLO with my daughter. Had trouble finding an available room in SLO and particularly one that had decent reviews and was under $125.00. Days Inn had great reviews but showed as booked with all the on-line sites. Called them directly and they gave me a suite that normally went for around $150 for $109.00 per nite! April who took my reservation was warm, friendly and helpful with information for our stay. The kitchenette style accommodations were 1960's spartan and outdated but the room was clean, hotel well lit with 24 hour lobby staff, and lovely tropical landscaping. They had ample free parking, changed the sheets daily, provided a decent complimentary continental style breakfast in the lobby and the location couldn't be beat for getting to Cal Poly. BEST OF ALL HOWEVER WAS THE STAFF!! Everyone on the front desk, the night staff (someone named Zac was so gracious that I called the hotel to tell them how nice he was), even housekeeping and the manager Diane were all amazingly FRIENDLY, HELPFUL AND SOOO CHEERFUL - simply put, the hotel staff are unbeatable and made the hotel stay well worth it. I would stay there again just because they were so nice.

    Our daughter attends Cal Poly SLO and we were looking for a "Home Away From Home" for our frequent visits to see her. Before finding the Days Inn, we tried several other area hotels and were not comfortable returning to any of them. Upon staying at the Days Inn SLO, we knew we'd found our "Home Away From Home." The Staff is awesome and treats us like we're family, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Give the Days Inn SLO a try and tell them Cara from San Diego sent you. Enjoy!

    Stayed only one night but the service was excellent. The room exceeded our expectaions and was spotlessly clean and well appointed. The young lady who checked us in was so helpful and welcoming and the check out was also very good and so informative. Cannot fault this wonderful hotel for a price that was so much better than any of the others we popped into so we would highly recommend. Well done to them.

    My husband and I were really pleased with our stay at this hotel. The beds were very comfortable, which was a surprise to us, being it is a "smaller" chain hotel. The grounds and everything were extremely clean and well kept. We had the no disturb sign on and we asked for towels and got them. The employees were great....we will stay here again!!

    I enjoyed my stay here. I was with my bf & a bunch of FZ1 riders and we got a lil loud, but staff remained friendly and courteous while requesting us to tone it down a bit...giving we're not roudy teens-30+ y/o's hehe there was plenty parking and the bed was comfy. I couldn't ask for a more affordable comfortable stay.

    Very nice property. Accommodating and friendly staff. Room was big, clean and comfortable. Despite the location approximate to the 101 Freeway, the rooms are well insulated and a good night's sleep is almost guaranteed. Standard breakfast fare - coffee, juices, fresh fruit, breads and muffins. Nothing spectacular but fresh and on par for a Days Inn. Elevator is a big plus.

    I have stayed at this hotel several times and it is always a wonderfully restorative experience. The management and staff are warm, polite and very helpful - so much so I must mention their names - Robert, Tina, Diana, Ismael, Amanda, Rosa and Nohemia. The rooms are spotlessly clean, the pool beautiful. A selection of organic teas and coffee are available round the clock in the elegant, relaxing lobby. All-in-all it's simply a great place to stay!

    Wonderful staff, outstanding customer service, great location. It was our first time staying at this hotel, and we enjoyed our stay. The room was a little too small for three of us, and it would have been great to have a fridge in it. But your crew compensated for what we didn't have. All staff members were very courteous, helpful and showed personal interest. Roby and Diana were an incredible team, they helped with directions, maps, great ideas, and very patient answering all our questions. Elliot and other members always had their smiles on and very kind, as well. Thank you for having such wonderful people working for you. We ARE coming back!

    Very simple and plain room, but clean. Beds were quite comfortable. Nothing fancy, but no complaints. Super convenient to Cal Poly. Not near enough spaces in the parking lot, but never had a problem getting close street parking. All in all, great for the price.

    The inn was located near the freeway, restaurants and right off the main street that leads to the downtown area. The room and the grounds were very clean. The towels were surprisingly fluffy (almost like they were new!) and the area was quiet. Even with a pool area and assorted twenty-something young men, it was still pretty quiet! There was plenty of parking. The little breakfast bar was nice, but being located in the lobby was a bit of a hassel to access. The workout room was small, but more than adequate. We were pleased all weekend.

    Stayed here one night. Rooms were large and quiet. Definetly an older place. Beds are old and nit very comfortable. Room was clean. Everything over the weekend was booked for some reason so I had to pay over $150 for the room. Way over priced. It is a $90 to $100 room at best.

    We love you Amanda!! We have stayed here several times when we come into town and even had our entire wedding party and all our guests stay here for our August wedding. We couldn't believe how reasonable their prices were in peak tourist season. The stupid Travelodge was $140 for a night but the Days Inn held strong at $79! The rooms in the back building are the best, some even have balconies. The suites are spacious and have a full kitchen All the staff is super awesome and went out of their way to accommodate us and our guests the whole weekend! Amanda, you rock! Thank you Days Inn for a great, stress-free stay!!!!!!

    The rooms are in dire need of renovation. The mattresses are very old and sagging. Our A/C was broken and the clerk on duty tried to fix it but could not. She advised us that she would speak to the manager about a credit for the A/C but that never happened. They do offer a decent free breakfast and did make sure that all the food and drinks were available to everyone.

    We stayed here because we couldn't get a room at the Sands Inn and Suites on a Saturday night.  The room was clean, the staff friendly and helpful.  Even though it's close to the freeway it's pretty quiet. Appeared to be a standard continental breakfast in the rather small lobby.(we didn't eat there)  There is a trolley stop right across the street.  The only problem was a boggy mattress.  You could see the dip in it from across the room.  I couldn't have slept on it for more than one night.  I'm not sure I would stay here again.  If I can't get into the Sands, I would probably try another motel.

    A good, simple hotel for a nights sleep. Good, clean rooms. A little old but still very ok for the price. Good standard breakfast(bonus: free coffee all day). Nice pool area. 20-25 min walk to downtown. Good budget hotel, recommended from a roadtripper:-)

    Room was fairly spacious but only one bed. Am used to having 2 beds in this type of room. No refrigerator. Coffee machine was one of those pod types. Pods provided were only so so. Had to send my husband out to get coffee. Breakfast was hot water and coffee in the lobby. The pastries they provided were long gone by the time we got there at 9. So don't count on breakfast at this property. Oh, and the parking lot filled up early so we had to park on the street. Not great soundproofing. Will stay at the Motel 6 next time.

    Although there is no breakfast lounge (you just take it back to your room or eat it in the lobby), there was always coffee, tea & hot chocolate available, the OJ was fresh, and they kept the breakfast items well stocked (If something ran low, when notified, the staff quickly restocked, and with a smile!). Our 3rd floor room (in the rear building) was very clean and quiet; the facility and pool were very well kept, and the staff was very pleasant. For those wanting a bigger, sit-down breakfast, the Apple Farm is across Monterey Avenue, but their prices are rather high (You'd do better going a few miles away to Denny's, which we did the 2nd morning). The location (In San Luis Obispo) provided a good mid-point for heading to Oceano for the MelloDrama (which we HIGHLY recommend), or for enjoying Avila Beach, Pismo Beach, Morro Bay, Caycous, or Cambria. The farmer's markets provided some good fruits, nuts, snacks, and dinners. (Check the schedule online via San Luis Obispo COUNTY.) We've stayed in Pismo, Morro Bay, and Caycous before, but it looks like we have a good and convenient place in the Days Inn. We hope that you enjoy your stay as well!

    This place looks like it was once a Motel 6, but got to run down to pass quality for Motel 6 and was sold to the Days Inn group. We stayed two nights during the SLO graduation with two other couples. Every room had repair issues. One of the room, the entry door was falling off the hinges and would not close properly. One room the keys for the electric lock on the door had to be replaced three times and still only worked intermittently. Two of our rooms were suites which was really just a normal room with room expanded to the side, under the stairs. The room was constructed similar to if you put walls up in your garage. There were electrical outlets, but no light switches. Of the three lamps in the room, we had to have two replaced because they were broken or the method of turning the lights on and off was to screw the light bulb in and out. The front desk personnel were very nice and took everything in stride and responded to our issue for repairs. IWe had not complaints with the hired help. The problem is with the owners, they need to put some money back into the rooms. All three room in our group were in need of new furniture and fixtures, and a lot of TLC. The location is good if you are visiting kids at SLO and it's close to the freeway. Parking was not a problem. The continental breakfast was typical, no complaints there either.

    We stayed in a ground floor room that was wheelchair accessible behind the main building. The handicapped bathroom had a roll in shower and was very easy for a wheelchair guest to use without assistance. The front office staff was very friendly both upon check-in and with the continental breakfast. The breakfast rolls, muffins, scones, bagels were very fresh and the milk and juices were replenished throughout the morning. We will return again because it made our travel that much easier.

    We stayed in a spacious room in the annex building behind the main hotel, and were delighted to find a kitchenette, balcony, desk and table area, big closet and big bathroom with separate sink area in our room 330. I felt like I was in an efficiency apartment! The fitness room was nice, and the outdoor seating areas, good WiFi, and parking garage were appreciated. The front lobby breakfast was mainly carbs (no cereal, though!) and fruit, and the area did get crowded at peak times. For the $63 that we paid, I would stay there again!

    We were in town for a wine festival that happened to be the same weekend as Cal Poly's open house so hotels in the area were very expensive with limited availability. We chose the Days Inn because the rates were the best in town. The first night we stayed in a nice room in the second building on the third floor with a balcony . The bed was comfortable and the room was clean and updated. The friendly staff let us know that a trolley would pick us up next door and take us to the farmers market that takes place downtown San Luis on Thursday nights. It's a $.50 ride per person but if you'd rather walk it is only about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Because of the busy weekend we had to check out Friday and check back in on Saturday. This time our room was in the main building and while we were pleasantly surprised to find a full kitchen in the room the bathroom was outdated and the shower made a high pitch humming sound. The bed was comfortable but I would recommend staying in the other building. All in all the staff was incredibly friendly, the price was the best, the location is great and we will definitely stay here again.

    I checked in around the late afternoon after a long drive from Monterey. I was waiting for a few minutes as one of the staff members was on a call. After the call ended she promptly apologized for having me wait and upgraded me to a better room. Not bad! Here's a quick summary: Pros - Clean, free Wi-Fi, complimentary continental breakfast Cons - Furniture, bed, blanket, and towels are out of date, TV channels were not clear and had lots of static, bathtub was leaking, lack of bath products The decor left such a bad impression on me. I know I'm not expecting 5 star accommodations with a Days Inn but with how much I was paying per night I expected a little better in presentation.

    We went there last Thanksgiving as a stop on our Highway 1 tour. We looked at rooms first before we decided to move in - which as we have learnt is a good thing to do because the quality of motels differs a lot. The room was fine and we got a very reasonable rate. The guy at the desk was friendly and the breakfast was pretty good for American motel standards :) Would definitely recommend this to other people.

    I picked this hotel because it was inexpensive and I wanted somewhere that didn't mention bedbugs in the reviews. The front desk employee was very friendly when we arrived and he heard my kids outside so offered to get me one of the bigger suites at no extra charge. It even had a walk kin closet which the kids took over for a little play room. Breakfast was basic. My kids loved it because they had pastries and Fruit Loops that they are normally never allowed. But there was also instant oatmeal and bagels and juice, etc. They had home grown oranges that were wonderful, and a cute little sitting area outside to eat at. We came late to breakfast one morning and the employee told us to take our time- she wouldn't put it away until we were finished. Very nice!

    Arrived a few days before Student MOVE -IN day to Cal Poly Tech. Hotel Staff were so helpful in giving directions to places to eat, how to get.to where we needed to be, and best of all Days Inn was so convenient, less than 5 minutes to Cal Poly Tech campus. Room was clean, 2 Queen/King beds with a small refrig, coffee maker, and microwave. Morning breakfast was simple: bagels, fruits, muffins, and hot drinks, enough to get us started in the AM. The 2nd best thing was that Days Inn had an area for "smokers" outside although smoking is not permitted almost everywhere else. Thanks to the Staff... extremely grateful and had a wonderful visit. Splash Cafe and Days Inn, my home away from home. Basic Needs were met with the hospitality well appreciated. Very convenient Washer/Dryer on property, ground floor, worked great to get the laundry after the college shopping needs. Area was relatively quiet. Apple Farm across the street had great salads.

    Great location and service. Happily surprised with free internet, large room and extra amenities. I used the microwave and refrigerator more than once in my four-day stay, which saved money in dining-out costs. My only issue is the sheets didn't seem to fit correctly (or the elasticity was just worn off). The fitted sheet kept 'un-tucking' every time I sat in bed. Overall, a very clean and friendly hotel. I would stay here again for sure.

    Rooms are a bit shabby but the service is above average...and props for the free internet! No I wasn't at all impressed with the rooms. The furniture was meh, the doors were meh and the bathroom was sub-par. However, they do have everything you need...except a safe. But the service was great. Ok sure, they don't provide much in terms of room service and such. But everyone was super nice. Also, I went up to the front desk to ask how much it cost to connect to their wi-fi. Apparently, their internet was free. So the guy gave me the password to their wi-fi and I was pretty much set to finish my work. They also have a continental breakfast in the mornings. So...juice, coffee, tea, fruit, cereal and bagels. Not too bad.

    Disappointing and expensive for what it was. Dark, dated room. Kitchenette had a microwave but not a single piece of kitchen equipment - not a knife, fork. spoon, cup or plate. Good coin operated washer and dryer available for guests. Did seem popular with families - there appeared to be large family units available.

    We were traveling from SF to SD with 2 of our adult kids for a family trip (another adult child lives in SD). Liked the price of the Day's Inn and had done wine tasting nearby. San Luis Obispo I would highly recommend----great town, restaurants & shops. Very popular stopping point with vacationers. Our hotel room was large and had a frig. Grounds are planted quite lovely & there are a few tables in a lovely garden court where you can take your free continental breakfast. This stop worked out very well for us & we were pleased. Bedding upgrade would be nice, but it's not the kind of thing you expect at a Day's Inn.

    The positive reviews are lies. This place is very smelly and dirty. Lobby looks good. After you check in the fun begins, try and get a refund. They will give you another room but they are all the same. Days Inn should take their name off this place. Front staff are very friendly until they take your money. I wouldn't let my dog stay in this place. The people writing the positive reviews are either the owners or have stock in Days Inn. Very nasty, stinky, and dirty. What a pit.

    My husband and I were very pleased with the kindness of the staff who went out of their way for us. We only stayed one night, but will consider staying here again the next time we pass through San Luis Obispo. The view was refreshing--we got an eyeful of beautiful green hills just outside our front door. The sheets were crisp, white and smelled fresh. The bed was comfortable. We even killed an hour at night watching an HBO movie on TV and more time on their free wifi connection to the internet. Looking down from our third floor room was a tiny charming New Orleans-ish patio that was supplied with quaint tables and chairs in the common courtyard to while away the morning over a free continental breakfast. We recommend the Days Inn in San Luis Obispo if you are looking for a neighborhood place to stay, not too fancy, but great in every other respect. It was so easily accessible within a 3-minute drive to cafes, art galleries, antique stores, and such. The day we were there, there were also many university students visiting CalPoly from Southern California who infused a lot of delightful energy into our morning plans.

    not more to say than, it's the Days Inn, what did you expect? it's not madonna inn. there isn't a rock wall waterfall shower, but there's a shower&tub and sink. there isn't a red velvet king bed, but we had two queen sized beds with blankets and pillows. there isn't an automatic toilet that cleans your butt, but there's a traditional toilet with toilet paper. needless to say, this hotel provides you with everything you need. blankets, towels, hair dryer, internet/tv, fridge, coffee maker, iron, etc. the blankets look old and frumpy, the bathtub was clogged, but i had a comfortable stay. like previous reviewers, walls are thin!!!

    I have been staying at the Days Inn in San Luis Obispo, CA for many years as business brings me to that area frequently. I ALWAYS choose the Days Inn and I have become very friendly with the lovely staff over the years. The rooms are clean and comfortable, they have a peaceful pool area which is great for the kids, and they have an easy-going breakfast bar . Best of all, the Days Inn San Luis Obispo is very reasonable priced!

    Wonderful hotel.  The location is great.... right at the end of garfield street, just off the freeway and across the street from a 24 hour chevron, and a 5-minute drive to downtown.  The rooms are a decent size with all the usual amenities; iron, hairdryer, bath products, and free wifi (you will need an access code given at check in). What really impressed me about this hotel, though, was the service.  I have to say that it was excellent.  The woman at check in was quick, friendly and made a great first impression.  Steve, the man working the front desk at night, was also a HUGE help.  The guests who had stayed next door to our room had left their alarm clock set, and right around midnight it started going off, which woke me up and was so irritating that I could not get back to sleep.  I called the front desk to see if anyone was available to check it out.  Steve said he would do it and within 5 minutes the issue was resolved.  Wonderful and quick.  Thank you! If you are looking for a hotel in SLO, i would definitely reccomend Days in for a very pleasant experience!

    As a frequent business traveler (25+ trips per year), this has to rank as the worst customer service experience that I have ever encountered. I had scheduled this hotel for a one night stay on business, but rescheduled to extend to a two night stay at the last minute. The hotel staff informed me at check in (before 5pm) that they would not honor the altered reservation, as it was made within 48 hours of check in... and proceeded to indicate that they would bill me for the two night stay *and* that they would also bill me for a no-show on my original check in (for the one-night stay!). The girl at the front desk 'claimed' that they can not reverse or alter 'third-party' reservation. A call to the Days Inn 1-800 customer service line indicated that it is company policy for the local hotel to address such reservation problems. As of my check-out (after two nights), this issue had still not been resolved... the girl at the front desk was not capable of presenting me with a bill for my 'no show,' nor could give a firm reassurance that the manner would be resolved equitably. We shall see how this plays out in forthcoming weeks.....but so far it is not a good omen.

    Contrary to other comments, the front person was pleasant though it took us awhile to locate her at check in. The property is definitely better looking from the outside. Our room looked and felt old....especially the bedding. Water flow of the shower was very slow. Free continental breakfast was very basic plus they were out of coffee. Free wi-fi available. I think I'd try elsewhere next time.

    Decided to stay at last minute instead of 2 hour drive home. Booked through Priceline for 2 queen beds. Deal was OK ($80 + taxes = $97 or so). Anyway, when we got there we got put into a King bed (and we have 2 adults and one child). I told Hasan (at desk) that I needed two queens. He said he had to talk to the manager. I said I was promised two queens on Priceline. He said he could do nothing since Priceline was totally separate and there was nothing he could do. He said we had to talk to Priceline (at 9pm with no Internet access). He said we could try to call the "manager", but I said don't bother. He said he could upgrade for $20 to two queens. I agreed, but I said I would warn others. So, be warned...CONFIRM what you are getting before you pay. They will get you with charges for the little things. Can you say "bait and switch"? Oldest trick in the book.

    We stayed at the Days Inn for one night when travelling up the west coast. It was booked by friends we were travelling with, from California. The hotel was easy to find off the freeway and there was ample parking (as seems to be the case in most of southern California - everyone drives everywhere). Check in was quick and the rooms were clean although a bit dark with deep coloured bedspreads and carpet. Breakfast was basically just some self service items layed out in reception which meant you had to find somewhere to sit in the small reception area while people checked out. We opted for a lovely restaurant across the road 'The Apple Farm' for both breakfast and evening meal. The hotel is a little bit away from the main town centre but there is public transport. A decent hotel for a one or two night stopover in a pretty little town.

    Surly staff, and terrible customer service. Be warned half of the rooms are old and tiny. When we asked to switch to a better room for an upgrade price we were told that even though they had 20 available they wouldn't let us move rooms even if we paid. They were extremely rude and unreasonable. They refused to even try and fix our problems and didn't even offer an apology or explanation. Tiny pool, workout room is a joke. The rooms were so tiny we had to get two and split our family up , there was no way we'd fit in one of those closets they call a room. We switched to a Best Western in town with much larger rooms, better amenities, and nicer staff for the same price.

    We called to cancel this reservation due to my son's emergency hospitalization. I called and spoke with a staff person several times. They could not release my reservation without the manager's approval. The manager will call me back on Monday... Instead I received a form letter without a manager name or signature stating that my card had been charged for the night's stay. In the future, I will avoid staying in Day's Inns...

    Just stay home if you are planning to stay here. It was a pretty bad experience. It ruined out trip to the central coast. the place was damp smelling and just old and run down. Granted it is in a college town and it was our fault for being cheap...It was 150.00 a night. Pretty bad.

    My husband and I have stayed here twice, and each time we've had primarily pleasant experiences. I'm going to introduce the somewhat negative (although hardly condemning) aspects first, and then I'll move on to the positive ones: The downsides: 1) The shower heads are ancient and release a water flow which is both spotty and inconsistent. You can somewhat wash and rinse your hair, but you'll probably need to turn the selector dial around a few times to really work it to your best effect. 2) My second gripe isn't really the hotel's fault, just the guests', but I think it should be mentioned. When we first stayed there about a year ago, we had some random drunk guys pound on our door at 2 a.m. Thankfully, they quickly became bored and moved on, but it was annoying as hell. This year, we had two idiots who breezed in at 3:51 a.m. and ever so loudly rolled their luggage over the threshold into their hotel room which just had to be next to ours. :P But enough griping, on to the good things! 1) The free continental breakfast was tasty. I snagged a couple of fruit pastries and a cup of hot black currant tea. (I really dug their tea selection; I had my pick of a good 7-10 teas). My man poured some cereal and grabbed some orange juice and a muffin. We ate outside at one of their little European style fresco covered tables with its ironwork chairs and took in the generous view of the surrounding hills. It was most awesome. 2) Each of our rooms was ridiculously clean. I was amazed at the pristine conditions of the bathroom counter, toilet, and shower. 3) I  appreciated that the hotel used individually wrapped plastic cups instead of those glass ones. We also had our own coffee maker in the bathroom and could have brewed some tasty goodness had we chosen to. 4) We had a solid selection of TV channels to choose from, and a damn good heater. Coming from an apartment which really doesn't have any sort of air circulation system, save fans in summer and extra layers worn in winter, I was very grateful. In short, I would say that if you're strapped and looking for a nice decent hotel (bring those earplugs--you've been warned), this is the place to go.

    Days Inn is a very average motel---and overpriced. Although all the ,motels in SLO seemed to be higher than most places. Do not ask for a rollaway. It was extremely uncomfortable, soft and like sleeping in a valley. We were not credited for the rollaway, by the staff when we complained.

    I just noticed this review in passing and I have to say that this place is HORRIBLE! Once upon a time, I had to live here for 7 weeks. The roof of my apartment collapsed and while it was being fixed I was put up here in a claustrophobic room. While it was cool having a large bed, I don't like the idea of my matress fort of love taking up all but 5 feet of my room (and most of that being taken up by a table and chairs). Due to the weird circumstances of my situation, I was no longer considered "a guest". I was treated as less than a person. The management cut off maid service to my room after day one (I had to go to the front desk repeated to ask for someone to vacuum or at least change the sheets). Yeah, their response was to leave new sheets and blankets on top of my bed still folded with a note on top saying to please return the dirty sheets to the front desk area. WTF? The staff and management looked at me like I was vermin and the only person who was even civil to me was the guy at the nearby convenience store. The apartment complex was supposed to foot the bill but I'd get constant calls telling me that I had a balance on my account. Well, genius if you know my situation, know that I'm not paying for this, why the hell are you calling me? Also I was in college at the time--college. I tried to be considerate and keep the noise down but don't call my room and tell me I look suspicious coming back at 2-3am on a weekend and to please return by midnight as it might upset other guests. It's not like I invited my friends over to this dump and it's not like I was puking, stumbling drunk (I was very sick at the time and could not ingest alcohol). The clincher was the last two days I was there. You called to tell me that I needed to check out a day early. I told you my travel plans were set for the appointed day I gave you a MONTH earlier. Do not sigh and gruffy tell me,"well we've already rented your room out. This is going to cause some problems." Oh buddy, you have no idea.... So yeah seven or so years later, I am STILL telling people to stay away from you. I hope you have more understanding management because if not, may your hotel get unapologeticaly thrashed over alumni weekend. You deserve it.

    Around 4 pm on Friday afternoon, counting down the minutes until I could leave prison, er work, for the weekend, my boyfriend and I decided to take a weekend trip up to Morro Bay.  As the designated hotel finder (he was officially banned after he insisted, and I unfortunately assented, on staying at a particular Reno hotel.  He said the place received good reviews on Yahoo (amateur) that turned out to be a dank hole the likes of which it would not be entirely unheard of to find a hooker, beaten to a pulp by her pimp, behind a dumpster). So I started making calls like mad to all the hotels I could find in the Morro Bay area.  It's apparently a popular weekend destination as evidenced by all the booked up hotels.  So we opted to stay the first night in nearby San Luis Obispo.  What a pleasant stay.  The standard king bed rooms are more like studio apartments -- it's super large complete with a long couch, kitchenette-type setting, and a very large and serviceably clean bathroom.   We ended up at the only sink hole available in Morro Bay (aka Travelodge), but if I knew how close Morro Bay was to SLO, I would've just stayed at the Days Inn.  Lesson kids: Stay in SLO when you're adventuring out to the area because then you can take advantage of the afternoon sites around Morro Bay & then hightail it back to SLO.

    The Days Inn SLO was easy to get to off of 101. Just a short drive or mile walk down Monterey street will get you to downtown. I stayed 3 nights with a group of students. The hotel was VERY gracious with our group. This property has two buildings. I stayed one night in the "old" building near the lobby. The room was big, but old with a tiny bathroom (sink, shower/tub and toilet all together) which would not allow two women or students to get ready at the same time. There were no electrical outlets near the mirror in the room itself. I was moved to the newer second building for the last two nights of my stay and was very happy with the HUGE room. The shower/toilet was separate from the vanity and sink. There was a kitchenette area with sink, fridge, microwave and many cabinets. It looks like it was designed for long term stays. If I were to stay here again, I would request the newer building. The continental breakfast consisted of bagels, muffins, scones, coffee/tea, orange juice and your choice of small apples or tangerines. A minimal effort at breakfast.This was all served in a small lobby corner and very difficult to navigate with other guests. The pool was small with minimal area to lounge. This was a decent property to stay at and the staff was very helpful and courteous. I've stayed in nicer properties in SLO, but for the price and location it was fine.

    I tried to stay at the Days Inn SLO in February. The first room they put me in had a foul/moldy odor. I complained about that one and the next room had multiple problems ... Used cigars on the balcony, dents in the refrigerator, holes in the linens. There was a piece of duct tape (!) on the TV remote holding batteries in place. In short, the room was filthy and I'd had enough. I requested that they not charge my credit card and I would stay somewhere else. They refused even though I never unpacked, so I had to dispute the charge through my credit card company. This was outrageous customer service--the hotel wasn't even close to full so my reservation had no impact on their potential business. I'd been polite with them throughout and they were rude to boot. I ended up staying somewhere else in SLO, which was much nicer. The owner there advised me to check tripadviser. The owner was shocked to find that the Days Inn had dropped not only out of the top 10 but into the 20s in the ratings here out of roughly 25 hotels in the SLO area. The owner said it must have happened very quickly (in just a year or so). This was consistent with my experience as I'd stayed at the Days Inn several years before and it has gone down hill drastically since then. Stay away!

    The rooms are older, the beds are little uncomfortable. The property is well maintained though and my daughter thoroughly enjoyed the pool. It was very quiet and the staff was helpful.

    We've stayed at this top of the line Day's Inn several times when in town on business. The pool is very nice and there's a good exercise room. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. There are several nice restautants within walking distance. Although you can't see or hear it, the freeway is only about two blocks away, so it's very convenient for getting around town. Highly recommended. Be sure to book early, because this place is usually very busy.

    We were promised a non-smoking room, got smoking room. "The last room available", we checked in at 3:10 PM , check in time is 3:00 PM (we made reservations weeks in advance). The bathroom had only one light bulb above the mirror, and that was in the corner of the ceiling, a hole cut in the ceiling, with an exposed light bulb, no fixture. The bathtub did not hold water. We would not stay here again.

    We booked through our Travel Agent in the UK who told us that availability in the area was limited so we would have to pay a premium. So having been charged the equivalent of $260 for a double for one night, you can imagine our disappointment on entering the room. It was dark, smelly, dirty and very worn indeed. The matress on the bed was terrible, and sheets and towels had holes in them, were dirty or both. The bathroom was a disgrace. Lights didn't work properly, the floor and bath was dirty - in fact, just looking at it made me think it would be better suited in a prison. Our room was also right next to the car park, so it was noisy also. And just to top it off, there was an inch high gap underneath the room door, so you were kept up late and woken early by anyone else that was outside . In short, this hotel is terrible and I would never stay here again.

    we stayed in days inn one night and got the last room available.the smell was disgusting in the room and i bought a towel to use as the ones provided were not the cleanest and were yellow.there are plenty other places to stay that are much better for the price.

    I travel for business, so I stay in hotels about 40-50 nights a year. I usually stay at Hilton family hotels that are 3+ stars. The hotels in this area are a little expensive and I wanted to save our client a little money, so I took a chance at this property. I was worried because of a couple of experiences staying at "bargain" hotel/motels, but was pleasantly surprised. The furnishings and carpet had definitely seen better days, but the microwave, fridge and high speed internet made up for it. The cleanliness and nice staff were another plus. I don't know that I could recommend this hotel for a lenghty stay, but for one or two nights, I can absolutely give it a thumbs up. If you want to save some cash and not end up in a dump DEFINTELY stay here!

    We stayed for one night only, but the room was clean, had good facilities (shower, microwave, fridge, two queen beds), and included a basic lobby breakfast (bagels, coffee, juice). If you're just flying through town, it's a good place to sleep. We would stay there again.

    Our family stayed at this Days Inn and loved it. The staff went out of their way to helpful and friendly. The continental breakfast was okay - about the same as most continental breakfasts these days. The facilities were extremely clean, and the pool and hot tub were well kept. We'd go back anytime.

    We satyed 2 nights at the hotel. The room was ok for the price. When we returned home I realized my son left a special item in the room. We called back and we told it would cost $10.00 to have it sent to us regular mail. On top of that items are only sent on the 1st and 15th. Called their customer service they were very unfriendly and short. Seems like this hotel take is taking avantage of a 5yr old boys mistake.

    We stayed at this hotel on a trip up the coast in September. We did not have reservations, just stopped in and were able to get two newly refurbished rooms. The hotel clerks were the friendliest we encountered on our week long California vacation. Our room was in a courtyard. It was spacious and clean, newly refurbished with a huge handicapped accessible bathroom. We had a king size bed and the room also had a refrigerator and coffee maker. We didn't use the coffee maker because they had a continental breakfast and coffee/tea and fruit available all day in the lobby. The room was very quiet. There is a small pool and gym, which we didn't use, and an ice and soda machine on premises. There is also a guest laundry. My only complaint is that the dryer took 2 hours to dry a small load of laundry. There was a small courtyard in the back of the hotel with a table and chairs, where we sat at night while we were washing the clothes. The staff recommended dinner at the Apple Inn across the street which was fabulous. We paid $81 for the room - we felt it was the best value we had on our week long California trip. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

    Stayed here for 2 days on my way towards LA. The front desk staff were friendly & helpful and the room was clean, with every amenity needed, provided. There was also a nice pool and fitness room. San Luis has a bustling downtown area, but unfortuantely the hotel is a fair distance away. It's about 25min walk and is easy to do - after a days shopping/walking, it's a bit harder to get back there!! The free breakfast was adequate, stronger water pressure would have made it all perfect!

    My teenager and I stayed for one night while we were in town, touring the Cal Poly campus (which is a few minutes away by car). The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was nice and clean, and had 2 queen beds, with a kitchenette, which was handy. Since the hotel is right next to Hwy 101, I was worried about the traffic noise, but it wasn't a problem (as long as we kept the sliding glass door closed). The small pool looked inviting, but we didn't have time to swim. We enjoyed the simple continental breakfast provided in the small lobby, which included hot beverages, orange juice, several types of fruit, muffins, croissants, and bagels. We would have no problem staying here again.

    We were in town for a baseball tournament and stayed here for two nights. We had a great experience. The room was clean and spacious with a refrigerator to store drinks and snacks. We enjoyed the pool and spa area. We used the coin-operated laundry facilities which is in a room available to those with a room key. The front desk was helpful with recommendations for dinner in town and at the beach. Overall, it was a great stay for us and we would have no problem staying here again.

    My family of four had a nice stay and had plenty of space in a very clean room. We also had a kitchenette, and the walk in closet served well as a changing room. Breakfast was good. Fitness center looked inviting, but the treadmill was out of order. Some remodeling work is going on in parts of the property. Front desk people were pleasant and helpful. The only major disappointment was a billing dispute upon check out. The manager, Isaac, was unavailable and lacked the courtesy to return my calls. I finally had to get a credit for the billing error through Days Inn corporate office.

    The staff was extremely helpful and obliging, which is high praise considering we were there over a holiday weekend. The hotel was booked to capacity, but we were able to get connecting rooms! And they accomodated our dog, no problem. The rooms were very clean and big enough, but not what I would call spacious. Since the hotel was so full, we were worried about losing our space in the parking lot if we went out to eat. But, it turned out that there were several really good restaurants within walking distance (there are menus for some eateries in a binder in the lobby). In fact, there is a free trolley to downtown that runs by the hotel every 15 minutes until a certain time (watch out for Sunday schedule though, last trolley bus departs downtown at 3 or 3:30pm). If you like to walk, you'll reach downtown on foot in no time as it is downhill to get there. We were a little disappointed that the small pool was covered up, however the spa was open. And we definitely enjoyed the bagels since we hate those sugary types of continental breakfasts that consist ONLY of soggy mass-produced danishes. This is a good, solid, safe place to stay.

    Originally, I booked two rooms using TravelNow for the night before Thanksgiving, then cancelled and booked two for the night of Thanksgiving. When we arrived, we were told that only one room was booked for us, that it didn't have pet availability, but that they would accomodate us anyway. We paid cash for rooms and deposits, but later were charged to our credit card. The story of the employees kept changing from that we had two no shows and thats why we were being charged to all the blame being placed upon TravelNow. I ended up cancelling my credit card to stop the payments in the queue, after the charges for one room were already paid on Visa and the two we stayed in paid in cash, and wrote to the BBB, as I feel we were wronged by Christina and Isaac at Days Inn, SLO.

    This establishment is very clean and well maintained. Our room was spotless and the room was a good size. The "continental breakfast" was very good. There were muffins, assorted sweetrolls, toast, fruit, bagels, cereals and coffee, hot chocolate, tea, milk and orange juice. The young lady at the front desk that checked us in was very nice. Darren was also very nice at the front desk. There is a small work-out room, pool and jacuzzi. Our daughter's boyfriend goes to Cal Poly so this is a perfect place for us to stay when we bring her up to visit him. We will definitely stay here again....and again....

    They have a group cancellation policy of 7 days prior to arrival. During that time a major storm hit the area & the soccer tournament was cancelled. Because of their cancellation policy, they charged us with a one night stay.

    My wife and I have stayed at the Day's Inn on two occasions and found the rooms and service to be very good bargains. One trip we were upgraded to a room with a jacuzzi because they had overbooked.
