Just celebrated my birthday at Jimmy Bumps and the food was amazing! They never disappoint. The Chicken Parm is my favorite dish here and was delicious as always. They are now doing Pizza as well. Benny is becoming a pizza master! You need to try one! Family owned and ran. You can’t ask for a better deal than that.

Great food and service! Pizza was delicious along with the pasta. Highly recommend! 5 stars all day!! Thank you.

can we say 5 stars plus 5 stars .... words can not describe my experience

  • Feb 20, 2021 by Brett RadventureDad

I ordered take-out from here on a Friday night and it was ready for pick up in 20min! Two salads; one house and one Caesar(the real kind with an anchovy on top!) along with the Carbonara and Cannelloni. Talk about a flavorful feast!! Everything as on point and I look forward to ordering again.

Jimmy Bump's is probably the best restaurant in Los Osos. It's good family style Italian American food. Prices are reasonable the customer service is always great and I've never had a bad meal here.

The meals and service were above our expectations. We really liked the ambience of this spot. Amazing spot to take my family out for dinner.

Great little Italian place. The eggplant parmesan and chicken parm are quite good and my choices all the times. Diana may wait on you and if not too busy is a lovely lady

From the friendly Wait-staff to the Chef, this place is the best dining in the County. The entire menu is high quality flavor town and the Friday night special of Linguine, shrimp and bay scallops keeps me coming back often.

Jimmy Bumps is one of our favorites, we come at least once a quarter if not more and our family likes to come when they visit! Yummy! I like the put tase a with shrimp as well as the anti pasta misto a great salad to share r a good entree. Ed almost always has a calzone or pasta fazool and a glass of Ciante.

I had good old spaghetti with meat sauce (Sunday gravy). It was good. The minestrone soup was very good. The server was efficient and nice. Prices are reasonable.

Very good pasta in old school Italian style. Specials of the day are a good choice. Good service. Patio out back with other restaurants if someone doesn't want pasta.

Best Italian food in the whole county. Fried ravioli appetizer just wonderful. Had the Manicotti in a homemade pasta, to die for. A must place to eat (if you love real Italian food)

Just discovered this little hidden gem in Los Osos, and will for sure be back whenever we're on the coast. Intimate and cozy atmosphere, with excellent service. The portions were generous and reasonably priced. My husband had his favorite Italian dish, chicken parmigiana and remarked that this was definitely now in his top 3. I thoroughly enjoyed my linguini chicken carbonara. I'm notorious for being a slow-eater, who never finishes her plate. But that was not so this time! If at home, I probably would've licked my plate. We also shared the garlic bread, which was perfectly seasoned and grilled.

Great food. Great service. Cute little place. We had penne alla vodka with chicken - delicious!! Their eggplant parmesan was absolutely flavorful. All the food had fresh homemade feeling to it. Definitely a must visit if you are in the area.

The food was BLAND and the service was unwelcoming! After seeing the reviews, we felt we were making a good choice and ignored the fact that this restaurant was empty while the one across the sidewalk had an hour wait! We walked in and requested a table for 6. There  was not a lot of room to stand, we asked where we should wait and we were told to wait outside while the table was set up. We waited for almost 15minutes while we watched the server/hostess slowly start to set the table, stopping regularly to chat with the only "customer" in there. Finally, because we had an infant and we were getting eaten by mosquitos. I opened the door and asked if we could please come in, she said "I was just about to get you".   The gentlemen at the table told us how we had picked "the best restaurant in town" to which I replied that I wished we hadn't had to wait outside with the baby. The server snapped "I'm all alone here" The rest of the evening was tense, we asked if the pasta was hand made (after all the name says pasta house, it implies that they make pasta not just heat it) we asked if the squash raviolis were made there and we were told they were frozen. We ordered. The server could be heard in the kitchen talking negatively about us. She delivered us 6 BLAND meals (all different). Her attitude toward us never softened. The straw that broke the back to make me write this, another couple came in. She handed them menus at the door let them sit and gave them the courtesy we should have received.... sitting inside warm and comfortable while she brought the silverware and water we waited so long for... who wrote those 5 star reviews? Small town friends and family?!?!?

My boyfriend and I stopped by this wonderful spot on the 13th to celebrate my birthday after having to deal with a different local place being rude on the phone. I really lucked out. It was amazing and just what we wanted. My man had the lasagna which he really liked and I had their housemade pesto with chicken. It was incredible. So fresh and the garlic bread, so good!! Last was the cheesecake and spumoni for dessert that just made the whole meal perfect. The whole staff was friendly and helpful and made me blush a little singing me happy birthday, all in all we had an awesome time. Definitely a spot I'll be back to.

Just had their chicken marsala specialty meal w/veges and it was amazing! Gonna try it with pasta next time to switch it up. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a subtle environment to relax and enjoy an Italian delight! -TheB4G3L

Great dinner food was excellent. So nice to have a local restaurant in are area. Would recommend everyone to try it.

  • Aug 19, 2019 by Sonia R.

What a disappointment! The food is bland. Lasagna blah. Chicken dry. The anti pasta was the worse. No effort to even cut the cheese or salami. They just threw whole pieces on top of each other. Such a waste of money. Really not sure what the good reviews come from.

  • Aug 10, 2019 by Vibha G.

amazing food, we stopped by during our trip to morro bay, and were skeptical at first, however, after receiving our food, we were ecstatic!! it was the best, the tiramisu was divine and the service was great!! if we ever come back, we will stop by :-) great prices for great food !!!

Food is very good! Kudos to the chef! Service could have been better. Server with poor disposition. Wine selection was very minimal the evening we were there. Will go back.

Tasty food! I had the linguine alfredo and added shrimp. Delicious! Portions could be bigger and bread should be abundant.

Maybe I caught them on a bad night but we were not impressed.  Some of the folks we were with loved it, but my husband and I didn't.  Again...maybe it was just us as this place has great reviews.  I will give it another try next time we're in the area.

  • Jun 30, 2019 by Lisa B.

What a nice surprise! We went here with a good-sized group of family and had a great dinner. This is old-school red sauce, done really well. We shared a couple salads which were all fresh and not overdressed. Dinners were a collection of spaghetti, ravioli, and lasagna that were all delicious, flavorful, and had perfectly cooked pasta. The service was very nice... friendly, welcoming, and efficient. A great pick for a casual dinner.

So good! We came up from LA and were staying in Morro Bay and found Jimmy Bumps on Yelp. The service was wonderful and the food was SO good. The chicken Marsala was the best I've ever had.

We enjoyed our dinner at Jimmy Bumps. Emily our server was very personable and attentive to our table. My husband had the spaghetti and I had the lasagna both were very good.

While recently visiting the California central coast.  we searched Yelp for an alternative restaurant that was different form the usual tourist places in the Morro Bay area.  We read the reviews for Jimmy Bump's Pasta House in Los Osos, which was only 3 miles away, and decided to give it a try.  The location was off the beaten path but we easily found it.  Once inside we were quickly greeted and told to sit at any open table.  Once seated we were given fresh bread and menus.  We noticed the other diners were locals, not tourists.  This was a good sign as locals usually know where to find good reasonably priced food.  The extensive choices on the menu would fill any Italian diner's delight.  In addition to a full slate of the usual choices, the menu also offers a very large selection of regional Italian sauces matched with the pasta of your choice.  We started with the Caprese salad with very fresh tomatoes and large rounds of fresh mozzarella topped with a balsamic reduction.  For dinner I ordered the pesto sauce on penne pasta and my wife ordered the cannelloni.  Both were outstanding with nice portions.  We were both impressed with the food and service, and the check was much less than the tourist places in Morro Bay.  We were so happy with our meal we decided to return a couple of nights later.  On our second visit I ordered the house-made Lasagna and my wife ordered the Puttanesca sauce on ravioli.  Good lasagna is the test of any Italian restaurant and Jimmy Bump's was outstanding.  The lasagna was stacked high with many layers of cheese, was not dry inside, and was topped with a large helping of "Sunday Gravy" meat sauce and was perfect.  Our server told us they usually sell out every night.  The Puttanesca on ravioli was also excellent with unique flavors that blended together well.  Both evenings were delightful.  When in the central coast area go where the locals go to eat Italian.  You will not be disappointed.

Really authentic, cozy atmosphere home feel service. The linguine with scallop and shrimps in cream sauce were outstanding. The calzones were ok, if you like the ricotta, mozzarella blend. We had the sausage and olive one and asked to add artichoke hearts, which they did. Pizzas and salads looked really good too. We will go there again.

This was the first time we dined here.  Los Osos is slightly off the beaten path of the Central Coast but worth the trek.  Jimmy Bump's is a very warm and comfortable small space, the kind you would come week after week and feel at home.  The food likewise evokes the same except this is good home cooking like in the old days before processed and packaged took over.  Fresh made pasta and sauces are featured.  I had the Nonna special for the day which was a tender slow braised pot roast combined with a delicious red gravy over fettuccine.  My wife had the butternut squash ravioli.  This was stellar and we would order this again in a heartbeat.  I saw a plate of spaghetti and meat balls pass by for another diner and immediately knew what I would order the next time I stop by.  The wine list is very limited so if you are looking for a sophisticated and extensive library then it's best to bring your own special bottle.  I do not know the corkage policy but experiencing the down to earth, friendly service, I believe they would be most helpful in this regard.  I am looking forward to my next visit to the Central Coast with Jimmy Bump's on the itinerary.

Went just before closing on a Saturday night. The waitress was clearly overwhelmed with six other tables.  After a long wait, and an apology, she patiently took our order. The food came out fairly quickly.  The salads were fresh, the garlic bread savory and crispy. Eggplant Parm and shrimp primavera entrees were delicious.  Pasta was cooked correctly all dente.  The Sunday gravy sauce had a nice kick to it.  Glad we went.

Anytime we're in Los Osos, this is a must stop for us. Everything we've had, has been excellent... although we do have our favorites. Butternut squash ravioli is always a favorite!

  • Feb 28, 2019 by Angela M.

Called in an order for 5 and it was ready within 20 minutes! Upon pulling in the driveway I received a call, saying Angela I'm calling to tell you your order is ready.  As I walked in I was greeted by my first name again.  As I got home realized they forgot a salad and when I called back they asked if I could return they would give me a free cheesecake for my inconvenience.  Food was hot and yummy with large servings.  Kids loved the mozzarella sticks, chicken Marsala was tender and very tasty, fettuccine was great, not too cheesy or greasy, order of garlic bread was 1/2 a French breach loaf! Angel hair pasta was yummy! Meatballs were large and tasty!

I am not the Italian connoisseur that my business partner claims that he is. We visited this place several times on our trip - once as a carryout and dine-in. I enjoyed the meatballs with tortellini and the marinara. I also enjoyed the calamari. The dishes both were perfect. The marinara wasn't acidic but had a homemade taste. The nostalgia of the place takes you back in time to what you'd expect from a local Italian place - and somewhat feels like the backdrop of a movie. You know the places - not fancy - just natural.

  • Feb 16, 2019 by Nora R.

The food definitely has a freshly home-made taste. The mozzarella sticks and marinara sauce were awesome, as well as the toasted ravioli appetizer. The food took quite a while to be brought out, but I guess it's because it was only one person doing the cooking. My only disappointment was with the lack of friendliness from the waitress. Also when she rapidly took away my friend's plate while she was still eating but everyone else was done, I'm not sure if it was just lack of awareness or what the cause of that was. The environment is nice. It feels like a cozy home inside. A good amount of selections in each category of the menu. Last but not least, the tiramisu dessert is amazing.

  • Feb 09, 2019 by Adrian Blake

The calzones are amazing! And the waitress Diane makes the experience. You can't get anything bad here and the atmosphere is like a neighborhood family spot that is instantly comfortable

  • Feb 04, 2019 by PlatypusMom McAllister

My review is regarding the aroma from Jimmy's which was deliciously intoxicating and created feelings if not only regret but of anger for not knowing Jimmy's was there next to the sadly inadaquent ramen restaurant we unfortunately were suffering at. The 5 stars is for the lovely savory herbs wafting over making the poorly concepted ramen served to us wretched and inedible.

  • Feb 03, 2019 by Steve C

Always good food and service. The salads and vegetables are very fresh. Good menu selections and a nice atmosphere.

  • Jan 31, 2019 by Wilfred V.

Our favorite "red sauce" Italian restaurant in the area, complete with red-checkered table cloths. Jimmy is a great cook - pretty much everything on the menu is well prepared and flavorful. Prices are very reasonable, and the staff always friendly and attentive. There are only nine tables, so we usually come early. Great place!

  • Jan 23, 2019 by Jennifer R.

If you want solid, yummy homemade pasta this is your place to go in Los Osos. The chef is great, Diane is always there with warm French bread and a smile and the Sunday gravy is wonderful! It's a tradition that our family gets together there for my birthday dinner and it's something I look forward to.

We found this place when looking for Italian food on our family vacation, which happened to include our daughters 18th birthday. We all love Italian food, and thought this would be the perfect place to celebrate. Well... it was! The atmosphere is exactly what you'd expect. Checkered table cloths, soft music and the incredible aroma of delicious simmering sauce and mouth watering garlic bread. The lovely lady who was our server was so incredibly kind, and helpful. All four of us ordered different dishes. Chicken parm for my son, perfectly cooked, tender chicken smothered in their fabulous marinara, and covered in a blanket of bubbly mozzarella. Butternut squash ravioli for my husband, with a side of meatballs. I cannot begin to adequately describe the beauty of this dish. Sweet, savory, herbaceous goodness, combined with the salty sweet tangy meatballs. Just yummy. Cheese tortellini with possibly the most perfect pesto I've ever tasted for my daughter, the birthday girl. And cannelloni filled with a spinach ricotta filling that was so incredibly creamy and delicious, all others will pale in comparison. After the perfection that was our meal, our amazing server brought out a spumoni sundae for our daughter, and everyone in the place sang happy birthday to her. This place is incredible. If you're looking for Italian food on the coast... this is it.

Great food and cozy setting Had dinner with friends and we all enjoyed the meal. I had the clam linguini in white sauce, my wife had the cannoli and our friends had the nightly special, a seafood linguini in white sauce. Served warm bread and butter before meal. Nice local treasure!

  • Dec 16, 2018 by David Schoen

Very good pasta dishes however when I found a whole bay leaf in my sauce and told the server about it oh, she said the cook just Shrugged his shoulders. a Bailey's can choke you to death and should never be left in the meal.

  • Dec 08, 2018 by Paul S.

Perfect Italian restaurant tucked away in the sleepy little town of Los Osos. Tonight special was shrimp & scallops in white wine sauce over a bed of linguini. Served with fresh bread & butter. My server Diana was a delight. For dessert I had a generous portion of Spumoni ice cream... four scoops to be exact! I'd recommend this restaurant to all my friends. Reasonably priced as well!

Wonderful food. One server and she was quit busy, but handled it well. Very cozy restaurant. Good specials.

  • Nov 25, 2018 by Steve M.

Old school small Italian restaurant. Food was good, better than Olive Garden but not quite as good as your own mamas home cooking. Prices were reasonable. I don't feel the portions were huge like some other Italian restaurants, but just right to where you feel full if you finish the plate.  I did have to ask for a refill on my drink, which I hate doing; but that was the only real negative. Reservations recommended as I saw 3 groups of 4 turned away due to no seating. I'd come here again.

  • Nov 08, 2018 by Timothy Chung

Quality italian cuisine that rivals small Italy!

I was there in this sleepy old Town and we came across this italian bistro, we ordered pesto spaghetti, Sunday gravy fettuccine, minestrone soup and fried cheese sticks, all with beverages only cost $40. But this restaurant provides far more value then fine diners and taste better. The minestrone soup we had a balance of taste of not exceedingly salty while all veggies are sufficiently cooked just to taste good. As their name suggested, spaghettis are their strength, and the Sunday gravy is a must try, looks like tomate with meat only, but far more then that. When you taste the sauce you can feel the herbs that came from the meat, not so much that it overtake the whole disc, able to keep it to the meat only, fettuccine is well cooked and had a light taste of olive, taste of all of them are in perfect balance, plus is hot enough so u will feel good. Never expect so much from such a humble restaurant!

    Great food. Big portions. Fast

  • Nov 01, 2018 by Ryan B.

Definitely your typical Ma and Pop old style Italian Restaurant. Cute white curtains on the windows, Frank Sinatra playing, and red checkered tablecloths. The food was delicious and authentic, I got the angel hair pasta (not my choice, just what the cook was already making LOL) and eggplant parm which was sooo good, not too breaded or soggy. I really enjoyed this restaurant but the prices are kinda steep for the so-so dining experience, bread definitely isn't complimentary and the waters stayed empty for a while. I loved this cute restaurant and would come back, but's it's definitely not a 5 star experience.

We ate here for the first time last year when our house was torn up in a massive reconstruction. What a total surprise! YUMMMM! Real home cooking!! (I am so done with the pretentious, overdone "little plates" that's taken over everywhere.) Everything we had was super tasty, seemed to be made from real stuff (without the menu hype.) Plus they have a wonderful friendly staff. Needless to say, we've been back A LOT. This is what I want in a restaurant!! House made everything! So happy to have such a wonderful place in our 'hood.

  • Oct 19, 2018 by Kristin R.

Great food, although it was a little sauce heavy (meaning less sauce would have been better). The prices were very reasonable - including the wine (generous pours). Cute intimate dining room, nice staff, and overall enjoyable meal. Would definitely eat there again!

I would rate this restaurant 4.5 Stars.  The food was tasty and made to order.  I tried the Cheese Raviolis with Alfredo Sauce.  I enjoyed the meal.  One of my friends who is a wine drinker said the price of the wine was cheap but the quality was very good.  The server was attentive and knew the menu very well.

Drove here (based on the great name) after the three places we wanted to eat at in Morro Bay quoted 90-minute waits. We were seated immediately at Jimmy Bump's! This is a quaint, home-style restaurant. Red and white checkered tablecloths, twinkle lights, and black and white photos of Italian celebrities on the wall. It's not fancy, but it's endearing and intimate. Food is excellent. Generous pours of wine. Husband and I each had a soup, and both were great. I had the Eggplant Parmigiana and he had the Chicken Parm. The marinara is so rich and delicious. Bread was brought to the table with oil and vinegar. Also delicious. We finished the meal with some Spumoni. So yum! Several more tables were sat after we came in, and the waitress adeptly handler them all and was so friendly, too. Decently priced, delicious food, and great service - and we didn't have to wait 90 minutes in the cold fog, either. We'll be back next time we're in town!

We were in the mood for Italian food and decided to check this place out.  We saw a few previous reviews on Google saying they felt the person greeting you as you came in (and she was our waitress to boot) was a bit 'aloof', but that was definitely not our experience.  She was great.  We came in early in the evening and it was the week after labor day, so we had the place to ourselves.  Nice cozy atmosphere.  Music from the brat pack (Dean, Frank, etc).  Tablecloth.  The bread brought to our table was fresh and chewy.  The calamari was actually quite meaty, compared to most of the mostly fried batter one usually gets at restaurants.  I had lasagna, and it was delicious.  My wife had the shrimp Primavera,  which she really liked, particularly the spiciness of the red sauce.  Nice folk, good food.  Check 'em out

A fellow bike rider recommended this place. We arrived at 6 pm on a Friday night with no reservations. But the place was mostly empty. Accordingly, the service was prompt and efficient. My wife had the butternut squash pasta. I had penne with meat sauce. We shared some garlic bread. It was all competent and good, just like a small neighborhood place like this should be. I would return another time when in over this way. With water to drink, the total including tax and tip was less than $40.

So far so good. Great soup and salad! Next time, I'll try the pasta!

  • Aug 17, 2018 by Todd T.

JIMMY BUMP'S food is consistently very good.  Unfortunately, their service is often not good.  We have eaten there many times through the years, and there is one server that has been there for the 10+ years that we have gone there, that consistently provides poor service.  As a result (in part), we usually order food to go.  As I said, the food is always very good.  A few days ago, I placed an order for take out, and when I arrived, they charged me a $1.00 "packaging fee."  I asked the person that was putting my order together about the fee.  She seemed embarrassed and asked the longtime server to give an explanation.  She stated that they are trying to use packaging that is good for the environment, so they are making their customers pay for it.  I will certainly not pay for this take out packaging and food in the future, and I hope that everyone else joins me in this.  I am someone that cares very much about the environment, but this just seems to me to be a trick to nickle and dime us out of a little bit of extra money.  They should just show what their prices are, and we can decide if we want pay the price for the food.

  • Aug 14, 2018 by GFExplorer

The food is very good. There are always specials and very good selection of wines. The atmosphere is pleasant in the open dining room with a country charm. While it is not an intimate, it is cozy and comfortable - like being in Nonna’s kitchen. The staff are pleasant and efficient. It is a local place where friends gather and strangers are welcome.

This place has a great ambiance, small and intimate. The food was delicious. We had the lasagna, chicken parmigiana, ceasar salad and mozzarella sticks. The service was great! Very attentive and quick service. Would definitely recommend this place.

I've been to a lot of time restaurants in the area but this is definitely one of the best

  • Jul 24, 2018 by annekkf

Looking for Italian we found Jimmy Bump'S. Could not be a better gold mine of fine italian food. A special treat when Nick, Frank Sinatra's former security head was there

  • Jul 14, 2018 by Kristen G.

We love Jimmy Bump's! Authentic and fresh Italian food, great service and affordable prices. They feature daily specials which are usually delicious. My favorite dish is the penne pasta in vodka sauce with sausage plus a side salad. Yum!

Service was good, food middling to mediocre. I am from NY, So maybe pick your than most about my Italian, however...

  • Jul 10, 2018 by _rjctmci

Great local gathering place for excellent food. Jimmy singing in the kitchen and preparing some of the best food on the coast. The place is a little hard to find on your first trip, but so good you will put it in your GPS. OGB

Was in the area on vacation. Heard (eavesdropped lol) about this place. Decided to try it. The first thing noticeable, is the home-like dining room-style atmosphere. Very quaintly decorated; very cozy. The tables are decorated in a very traditional Italian setting. The service was tremendous; like being at a favorite Grandma's or family member's house. We had Diana, who said she was the manager. She immediately brought some delicious focaccia bread and butter.   The food was awesome. A great portion for a very reasonable price. I had the seafood special. The cream sauce was very flavorful, and the scallops were very tender. Also had a caprese salad, which was extremely fresh and light and refreshing. The tiramisu at the end of the meal was heavy, but full of flavor and delicious. Will definitely come again, when in the area. Definitely worth the 5 stars.

We ordered 'to go.' The good: the lady who took our order and helped us was very, very, nice. The ok: The lasagna was ok, but I've tasted MUCH better at my sister's house. The so-so (being kind): The Manicotti was mushed together, had too much sauce and tasted lackluster. The bad: My mom got the eggplant parm. (she has had this before and always liked it) this time though she said the consistency of the eggplant was awful, she said it had no flavor of eggplant, like it was frozen too long and then thawed out a few times. She said it tasted like  mystery food. She said she ate it because she paid for it. (She is in a wheelchair so it is hard to get back in the car and return things)     My daughter got the Olive Oil and Garlic with veggies - first of all, her serving was tiny, we thought it was a mistake, there was zero taste of garlic (we all tasted it and were shocked), it appeared that we paid 12 bucks for literally a cup of pasta, two tablespoons of olive oil, 3/4 cup of Bird's Eye mixed veggies, some salt and pepper and possibly a shake of garlic powder. Hyper-disappointing. She said the bread had more flavor.     Our tab was over $80 for food most people could have made at home for one-third the cost, but the taste would have rocked.     Probably won't be back - not for a long while at least. The only reason we would consider would be because the other times the eggplant parm was good. But not this time. At all.

Great, simple pasta house. Coming back for the meat sauce. Very clean and neat. Chicken Marsala was good. Service was great!

  • May 19, 2018 by Christopher T.

What a great meal. The wife and I wanted to give Jimmy Bumps a retry (years ago was not so good). Tonight was a complete turn around from last time. We started with the Antipasto salad. Great flavor. The mix of olives, crisp greens, and light dressing was a great start to the meal. The wife ordered a pizza. Gluten free crust with peppers, pepperoni, and onion. She said the sauce ratio to toppings allowed the mozzarella to shine and bring a creamy balance to the plate. I opted for the chicken marsala. The mushroom wine sauce was a great balance over the chicken and vegetables. The kitchen knows how to handle veggies. The carrots were cooked perfectly without making the broccoli a mush on the plate. I gave 4/5 due to the timing. We order our food based upon pace and size of a restaurant. I do not blame the staff, these gals were working their tails off. I feel that they could use one more pair of capable hands. With all that being said, make a reservation. Enjoy your meal and the quaint atmosphere of this place. Very homey and relaxing. We will be going back.

I would love to give Jimmy Bumps 5 stars but I feel I would be misleading. The food is consistently good but not exceptional compared to other Italian restaurants in the county; however, it's excellent if you want to stay in the Los Osos/Morro Bay area. The service we have experienced each time is very borderline. The lead waitress/hostess can come off as though she's doing you a favor to wait on you, even to regular customers. She presents with a certain tone of indifference much of the time, and that type of reception is very off putting to the customers. I will say that the restaurant looks to be hiring more help. I hope the new staff bring a less abrupt vibe to the customers. One suggestion, if you like eggplant, order the eggplant parm. It's delicious!

  • May 04, 2018 by Ann.

So so.. didn't like to wait as long. Cold. Food was ok.

  • May 03, 2018 by rmongoos

It would be easy to drive by Jimmy Bump’s and not notice it at all: the restaurant is housed in an unassuming little building tucked in the back of a small parking lot that only has space for a half-dozen cars. But don’t let appearances fool you: this is a charming, authentic, family-owned gem of an Italian Restaurant. Everything is prepared from scratch with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients, and each dish tastes like it came right out of mamma's kitchen. I have eaten here several times and have never been disappointed. As the restaurant’s name indicates, pastas are definitely the most popular dishes. While some have specific platings, such as the cheese-stuffed manicotti, in most cases you get to choose your pasta and your made-from-scratch sauce. Other specialties include lasagna, chicken Marsala, shrimp primavera, butternut squash ravioli, manicotti, chicken Parmigiana, cannelloni and eggplant Parmigiana. They also have salads, soups, calzones and pizzas. I have had both Parmigiana dishes and found them to be as good or better than I’ve had anywhere else. The lasagna is stuffed with real Ricotta cheese and a mixture of pork and beef between layers of fresh pasta, and the sauce is rich and flavourful. It’s my favourite! Jimmy Bump's also serves beer, wine, and a variety of homemade desserts. Their prices are very affordable: most starters are in the $5 to $7 range, and mains are mostly in the $12 to $15 range. They accept cash, local checks and credit cards. Please note that it IS a small venue (only 9 tables), so reservations are highly recommended. And no, I have no idea where they got their name, other than that the owner’s name is Jim.

Ordered take out one night while on vacation. Food was good. I had eggplant parm with fettucine alfredo. My bf had the chicken parm. We both enjoyed our respective parms. The fett alfredo was just ok and although the toasted ravioli was good, It would have been better with a side of marinara instead of ranch. The restaurant itself is small and a bit dated. What struck me the most was the aloofness of the two servers that evening. You get this feeling that they have been there for a long time and don't find much joy in it. As a former server, I want service with a smile, to feel welcome and appreciated. (I will also tip on takeout). On the plus side, the women who helped me was very accommodating as I asked for black pepper to go and she first gave me crushed red pepper but then once I pointed out the mistake, also gave me the black pepper without any attitude. I was grateful for the professionalism. All in all, seems like good, quality food in a tiny town.

First time coming across this place as I'm somewhat new to the area. I was really happy to discover an Italian restaurant in the neighborhood and grabbed some take out, however, my first experience was underwhelming. The breaded ravioli was decent but didn't seem very fresh, probably just microwaved. The pasta was a bit disappointing. It's hard to go wrong with pasta with oil and garlic but this one was bland and not at all tasty. The vegetable mix didn't go well together, maybe because of the overall bland taste and the fact that the dish was cold. The portion was also super small for the price and what it was. The bread was good, so there's that. I thought as I ate it might be a place I would try again, but then my stomach started feeling upset and I had to stop eating my meal. Now it's an hour later and I'm left super hungry. Money down the drain and on top of that I'll have to cook my own meal afterall.

  • Feb 12, 2018 by Chad Godfirnon

Quaint cozy little place with nine tables. Garlic bread was very good, light and flavorful. Main course portions we're just the right size and very delicious. The kids ordered pizzas and the enjoyed them very much. The desert cannolli was just okay, so maybe try the cheesecake.

  • Feb 11, 2018 by Kimberly E.

Stopped in during our stay in Morro Bay. People are not joking about the ravioli! They're amazing. Fast and friendly service!

  • Jan 23, 2018 by Gail N.

Great little place with excellent food & friendly service! Haven't had this good of pasta in a long time. Quaint little place, though the map app on our phone was slightly off and it was around the corner of where our map said it was....Glad we kept looking for it beyond the area where the map said it was! Gem of a place with friendly service and great Frank Sinatra music! Highly Recommend for anyone in the vicinity or traveling off Highway 1.

We were coming back from San Luis Obispo and craving Italian Food. I came across this on the internet and it looked like just what we were looking for. A small, intimate, family-owned trattoria with the chef being Jimmy himself. He has had many many years of experience, and we saw him creating delicious meals. My husband enjoyed Scallops & Shrimp in seafood cream sauce. I had to get a side of meatball with my entrée -- true test for me of homemade history. Service was excellent ... and we enjoyed dipping our focaccia in the olive oil and vinegar provided on each table. If you are looking for a cozy, unassuming old-style Italian café ... here it is. Along with Sinatra serenading in the background (- :

Very friendly and good service. Place was packed by 6pm so glad we got there by 5:30. Seems to be filled with mostly locals. Very accommodating with our two children. We ordered the chicken parm, butternut squash ravioli, kids spaghetti with meatballs and a kids pepperoni pizza. All the food was yummy and worth the price for a special night out. We'll go back again when we're in the area.

  • Dec 18, 2017 by Cyril K.

Cruising down the coast and found this place on Yelp. So far have been impressed with places having more than 4 stars and over 100 reviews. This place was no exception. The manicotti was excellent. Service very good and both my wife and myself were very pleased. Would recommend highly.

I come here often whenever my spaghetti craving needs to be satisfied. The Sunday Gravy sauce is excellent. I also enjoy the Caesar's salad with real anchovies. The Caprese salad is also very good. The "twilight special" is from 4 - 5 pm.

  • Nov 18, 2017 by Dick S.

Love Jimmy Bumps! The service makes you feel like you are at home, and the food is delicious and priced kindly. I would recommend the eggplant parmesan, the butternut squash raviolis, and the pizzas. I trust everything on the menu is delicious though, and served with heart.

  • Nov 09, 2017 by Cindy T.

I have been to this restaurant two times.   Seems they usually have a lot of customers.  The food is pretty good.  The service is ok.  I have had their lasagne and it was pretty good.  A good sized portion, the sauce was ok.  It's a quaint place and comfortable to dine in.  I would recommend dining in, as the take out is another story.  I called to order a take out and they asked me if they could call me back in 10 minutes.  I said ok, gave them my number, and, well, they never did call.  So I cooked inside.  I believe they must have been overwhelmed.  It was a Thursday night at 5PM that I called.  So being a restaurant, serving dinner, and receiving a call at dinner time, they should be able to receive an order.  So I only give them a 3 star.

  • Nov 09, 2017 by William J

Small and cozy. Nice selection of traditional Italian fare. Nice wine selection. Great service with a neighborly welcome to everyone. Daily specials round things out!

  • Oct 21, 2017 by Joey S.

This is my favorite Italian restaurant I've ever been to. It's also top 5 in my favorite restaurants and the best for a date night. The food is amazing with a wide variety of authentic Italian plates and bottomless bread. The audience with the music, light and photos it really feels like I'm in Italy itself. The food is made very quickly and the wait time is not long at all. Not only does it have the best food in town it also has the best service in town, waitress Diana is absolutely incredible and takes this restaurant over the top. If I didn't come back for the food and the restaurant feel and look I would come back just for Diana. This place is wonderful!!!

  • Oct 08, 2017 by Erik P.

Food is always great. Cranky server is only drawback to Jimmy Bumps. She acts as if you're bothering her. The food does make up it. Usually.

  • Sep 30, 2017 by Kim S.

My Dad discovered this place about 8 years ago and got us hooked!!! We would go here for family birthdays. This was his favorite Italian food on the Central Coast and always ordered the Sunday gravy. My fav is the pesto with shrimp, my husband loves the chicken parmesan and my daughter loves the butternut squash raviolis :) My Dad has been gone for 5 years now, but we go OFTEN in his memory, especially on his birthday!!!

  • Sep 28, 2017 by John G.

Just experienced Jimmy bump's for the first time on a trip to the central coast. The chicken parmesan was outstanding. My wife had the special a super penne pasta bake with sausage and red sauce and some outstanding cheese. Everything tasted wonderful, the garlic cheese bread was to die for. Great food great service and a good time for all. We will be going back again soon.

  • Sep 19, 2017 by Marty S.

We came here due to previous Yelp reviews. We were very happy with our meal. The waitress was very friendly, the food was delicious, and we had no problems at all. We only come to the Morro Bay Area one time of year, but will definitely be back next year.

  • Sep 10, 2017 by Michele G.

Our weekly place for our red sauce Jonesin'! Food is great, home style &  Diana will take excellent care of you. Prices cannot be beatemn. My weekly order is always eggplant parmesan. We've had it all & it's all yummy!

  • Aug 23, 2017 by Michele K.

I freaking love this place. It's so consistently good. My husband is super picky about lasagna and especially about spaghetti and meatballs. He only ever orders one of those two things. And he's always super pleased. I have tried almost every pasta dish on the menu and I don't think there's anything I've had that I have not loved. The bread they serve before your meal is excellent. Personally right now I'm stuck on the cannelloni. It's really hard for me to even write this because I'm trying to be  vegan. I'm not sure why. Next time I'm there I'm going to try the pasta with olive oil, garlic and veggies. Or not.

  • Aug 22, 2017 by Rafael D.

Staying the night in Los Osos, used Google to find this place. Already had amazing reviews and I was surprised at the affordability. Came here with a friend and ordered the Pesto with Tortellini + Sausage and I was in heaven. I ordered extra bread and my plate was spotless when they took it back. The atmosphere is perfect for conversation, incredibly cozy, and the background music is just enough to give it a great vibe but you aren't being assaulted by it. You won't regret stopping by here!

  • Aug 11, 2017 by Bogdan C.

Great pasta, super fresh seafood, friendly staff. We had the Sunday Gravy (meat sauce) pasta, cheese ravioli and shrimp and scallops linguini. Everything was fresh and tasty, clearly made with love in house. Would definitely return when next in the area.

  • Aug 08, 2017 by Paulatrip8

Many locals eat here for a delicious, inexpensive meal. I enjoy the Eggplant Parmesan and a glass of house wine with a salad. Servers are very attentive and gracious. Cozy atmosphere is welcoming.

Great food! Great people! Best food I have ever had! Nice place! Very tasty! We travel from Houston and find this restaurant on Yelp. We decided to go because we love pastas. The food here really made my day! This is the best pasta I have ever had! I absolutely recommend this place to everyone who live ior travel in Morro Bay!!!

  • Aug 05, 2017 by Alicia C.

What a find! This is a very small out of the way restaurant in Los Osos, only nine tables. The food and the service were excellent . I had the Vodka sauce over spaghetti with meatballs and my partner had the marinara sauce over penna pasta. Both were probably the best sauces we've ever had!!!! Prices are very reasonable. We'll be back asap!!!

  • Jul 28, 2017 by Jimmy Mancini

I was raised in an Italian family and my mother and grandmother were both fantastic cooks so I am kind of picky about Italian food. But I have never been disappointed with the food at Jimmy Bumps. Their food is authentic Italian and the sauces aren't too heavy... try the clam linguine with red sauce or the butternut squash ravioli with butter sage sauce. You will be back for more.

  • Jul 10, 2017 by R C

We went here last night after learning this Italian restaurant had gluten free pasta options for a gluten-intolerant friend. The place is simple and out of the way in Los Osos, but what a great find! The sauces and pasta and gluten free pizza were tasty! Service was good and helpful with the dietary needs. This will be a definite do-over next time!

After a long day on the motorcycle, I was in need of some cozy, quiet place to enjoy a warm meal. Jimmy Bump's was perfect. The server, Dianna, was delightful, attentive and sweet, and I kid you not - my fettuccini carbonara was out in less than 5 minutes. And it was incredible! The sauce was light and perfect, the pancetta was flavorful... it was all fantastic.

  • Jun 05, 2017 by AJ R.

Bottom Line:  Great little local Italian spot with a picture of Goodfellas on the wall - how bad could it be? One perk of this spot, is that it shares space with two other restaurants so if one member of your party absolutely *HAS* to have Sushi, they can piss off and walk across the patio. Many of the places that we tried out during our last visit, people seemed to be on a first name basis.  This is always a good sign other than you might not be able to pass for a local... Either way we had dinner and enjoyed ourselves. I had a calzone and wife had some pasta. I liked the calzone - it had all of the goodies that you would expect including that spicy italian sausage that tied it all together. The service was very good and friendly, and the food was good! We will be back.

This is a locally owned spot that was suggested by friends living in LO.  The service was great and the people were friendly, but the food was just so-so.  Our table of four had the cannelloni, mannicotti and puttanesco with penne pasta.  Salads were extra and nothing special.  All the entrees were ok, but I didn't think it was good enough to make it a destination restaurant.

Jimmy Bumps! Great pasta! It's all about the sauce people. Really nice fresh flavor. I got the spaghetti and meatballs. Meatballs are made of 80/20 ground beef and were awesome, juicy and flavorful. My pasta came with 2 big meaty balls and the marinara sauce was superb! Great sweet tomato taste that was delicious. We also got the spumoni (free with yelp check in), and cheese cake with raspberry sauce. I am extremely satisfied, the food really hit the spot! Not five stars because the Cesar salad was just off the shelf Cesar dressing (and mine was missing anchovies, I love those guys), and the calamari was good but tasted like premade version you buy that's frozen. Would definitely come back (my husband loved the clam sauce) and even take advantage of the early bird specials before 5pm.

Jimmy Bump's has outstanding food! If you're ever in the Morro Bay Area, give it a try.

  • Mar 20, 2017 by Rick S.

Jimmy Bumps was a real treat. The food was fantastic and the service was very pleasant. We had the calamari appetizer a Caesar salad, Eggplant Parmigiana and Carbonara. Everything was delicious and prepared with care and expertise.

Had the restaurant all to ourselves on a Monday evening. Our server was very friendly and efficient. My husband had an eclectic dinner of calamari, sautéed shrimp and a Caesar salad which were all enjoyable. The rest of us had pasta with marinara sauce and steamed vegetables. The sauce was absolutely delicious and we are fussy with our sauce. The meatballs are also highly recommended. Can't wait to return!

Best Tortellini Alfredo I've ever had! My only regret about this place is that I didn't discover it sooner. Diana is a wonderful hostess, the service is outstanding, and the atmosphere is cozy & quaint, the way a true Italian dining experience SHOULD be. A fantastic "date night" spot! They also offer take-out, but I doubt you'll have the red & white checkered tablecloths & Italian music at home to complete the motif. Highly recommend.

  • Mar 04, 2017 by John B

Food was great. Service was amazing! Would recommend you try it!

  • Mar 04, 2017 by Flowerful

This is a small restaurant that offers limited seating & does lots of take out business. Many sauces & pastas (including non gluten) are available. We enjoyed our penne pasta with meat sauce (Sunday Gravy), along with a small salad & bread-as take out. Give it a try!

  • Mar 03, 2017 by Erin h.

I had the special: shrimp and scallops in white wine seafood cream sauce and it was amazing. Portion sizes are ideal for the prices, atmosphere is charming and staff is responsive and kind! Love this place and bring every visting friend!

Jimmy Bump's is great when you're in the mood for pizza or traditional 'red sauce' Italian cooking.  Wonderful service to go along with the delicious food.

I love Los Osos and Jimmy Bump's is a great family owned pasta place. You need to make reservations if you are a party of six or more and they do not have a waiting area so if it's cold be prepared to wait outside. Good staff and pretty good menu. I had the butternut squash ravioli with basil infused cream sauce. Sounds fancy and it was ok. Rich. Everything is a la carte so salad or soup is separate. Soup was not impressive. The meat sauce was robust and smelled great and everyone in my group was pleased they ordered it. I would not order the squash ravioli again. The people at my table who had the red sauce were happy with it and we all loved the bread. Giving it a five for local flavor and nice owners who have a clean place and well-appointed menu. I will be back.

  • Feb 15, 2017 by Justin S.

Best chicken parmigiana I've ever had. I usually go to the coast for seafood, but now I stop by this place to get some great Italian food first. Then I go and get my average seafood!

A walk down memory lane...Jimmy Bumps is the place I gave my wife her own star and we had a wonderful dinner in 2007. The food and service was good then and it still is today. I have been going to Jimmy Bumps for pasta since 2004. It's a small cute mom and pop restaurant. The waitress today (02/04/2017) was on point. She was helping all the tables and doing it with a friendly smile. My wife and I got two appetizers, the garlic bread and fried mozzarella. For our main meals, I had penne pasta with their meat sauce and my wife had tortellini with pesto sauce. Both of our meals were very tasty. They had the right amount of sauce to noddle ratio. The main dishes had a hearty amount of pasta. One of the best reasons we like Jimmy Bumps is the service you get. The waitress was hard working and very friendly. She was quick to always check back with us. She was taking care of to go orders and all the tables in the restaurant. Great job!!!

From New York, looking for a good pasta joint, and couldn't be happier. Came here with my parents who are local that said this place was amazing! It wasjust like eating with our Italian friends on Arthur Avenue. I also have Celiac and the gluten free pasta was delicious and the server took care to make sure i was looked after well. So happy to find these little gem!

The environment is so intimate and charming. Really had that perfect ambiance for a quite dinner out. The service was also amazing, very quick to get seated as well as to get our food. When it came to the taste of the food it is absolutely delicious. It tastes like nothing is frozen, like a real home cooked meal. This has become my favorite place to visit when I am in the area and I make time to go and eat there.

I thought the mushroom wine sauce described for menu item "chicken marsala" would be what was also on the pasta that comes with the it. Pasta was on the side with marinara.  Still good. The vegetables were exceptional.

Having just moved to Los Osos, I was exploring new eateries in the area. This was NOT what I expected. It doesn't look like much from outside, but I gotta tell ya--it was Fan-Freakin'-TASTIC. Best tortelloni alfredo I've ever had. My friend had a seafood pasta special that was also amazing. Quaint, all homemade, family-owned/operated, reasonably priced...a very nice experience. Can't wait to go back. Five stars.

Jimmy Bumps is our favorite Italian place to go to in SLO County! My favorite is to combine the Puttanesca with the shrimp & veggie Primavera with the thin spaghetti-love the olives and veggies.  I always take home half for another meal.  The Bread is wonderful too.  My hubby loves the Calzone with Chianti.  Sometimes we have Spumoni for dessert.  Sometimes I get the. Antipasto Misto salad without the pepperocinis and onions.

  • Nov 28, 2016 by Dr. Greg Kaiser

  • Nov 21, 2016 by Janet T

A friend recommended this place so we decided to try it while we were at the coast for a few days. We went on a Tuesday without reservations and were seated immediately. We went around 6:00 but it was pretty busy when we left an hour later. I ordered the manicotti with a green salad and my husband ordered a calzone with sausage and meatballs and a green salad. The waitress was very friendly and she told us the specials then took our order. Bread and salads arrived quickly. The salad was fresh and crisp and the bread was very good, Just enough time went by to relax and enjoy a glass of wine then the pasta's arrived. Both were delicious and generous portions. I prefer my marinara a little more spicy, but it was still very good. I noticed people coming in frequently for take out. There is no view but the restaurant is so cute and classically decorated with Rat Pack pictures and Italian memorabilia you don't care. The whole family can eat and it won't break the bank. All prices are very reasonable. Definitely try Jimmy Bump's.

  • Nov 19, 2016 by Francis & Gisele Rivinus

Traditional Family Italian restaurant. If you are from New York City or San Francisco, you will remember what you have been missing all these years. Food is almost as good as your old family restaurant maybe better and it doesn't have the families yelling because it is too small. Leave Olive Garden for the populist and keep Jimmy Bump a secret for my sake hahaha. Seriously I want to see a line and a "must have" reservation for Jimmy Bump's.

Looking for a late-evening meal in a cute but small town with few options, our expectations were not high. Italian food seemed like an acceptable idea, so off we went through dark residential streets to find this place, which is unremarkable from the outside. Inside, traditional Italian decor and a very friendly waitress greeted us. Arriving well after the usual dinner hour, we were pleased by the warm welcome (followed by equally good service). We were pleasantly surprised by our tasty dinner of home-made pasta with fresh and delicious shrimp. It's been a few weeks and I don't remember what each of us ordered, only that the food was exceptionally good. If I didn't live on the other side of the country, I'd be a regular.

  • Sep 21, 2016 by Deanna H.

I am from the east coast and just moved to Los Osos a few months ago. When asking around town where is a good Italian Restaurant ? Jimmy Bumps was recommended. What wonderful authentic Italian Charm this restaurant has. Wonderful music , decor and food. We started with a Caprese Salad and Garlic Bread both delicious. Followed by Sunday Gravy over spaghetti. My husband had the Chicken Parmesan. I then enjoyed a homemade tirumisu for dessert. Service was efficient and friendly. I will definitely return to my new favorite Italian Restaurant.

  • Sep 20, 2016 by Pattie Kromrey

The food was good. The atmosphere was homey Italian. Average priced meals. Loved the little hostess so cute and friendly. The waitress was a little controlling of the other staff and a tad overbearing. But overall good service.

  • Sep 20, 2016 by Bebe F.

Had dinner here with the bf tonight. Had high hopes since the reviews were so good (for the most part). Ordered their Olive Oil & Garlic w/Vegetables pasta dish & it was SO BLAND. I added a bunch of salt & red pepper to give it a little somethin'. We also ordered their "fantastic" Garlic Bread. Another disappointment. Where was the garlic? And I like to have the butter somewhat "ooze" when I take a bite - there's was dry . Would I go back again? NO. I've had wonderful Italian food made with simple ingredients that tasted 10x better. The servers were wonderful but, seriously, eat elsewhere! That's my advice.

  • Sep 12, 2016 by Kerry Coulton

We went with the family...was really good...my parents are regulars. .they just went on their 51st anniversary...one of their favorite places ♡♡

  • Sep 12, 2016 by Roger F.

Jimmy Bumps Pasta House lies like a hidden gem among the homes and businesses in seaside Los Osos. You might be surprised at the authenticity of a New Jersey style marinara or the corner of the room with all the Sinatra photos... One in particular hangs a story. It's hard to do justice to the simple family approach to Italian cuisine... But it was wonderful from the fresh appetizers, the varied main course to the choice of Italian beer... Next time, when the family gets together, we're coming here!

  • Sep 11, 2016 by Mark Nelson

Best pasta house on the west coast. Well worth the 2.5 hr drive from home if I didnt come here for any other reason. Get in there and try some, you will see!

  • Sep 11, 2016 by Sandra V.

Wonderful music, cute hidden spot, great customer service and perfect waiter Hailey! I got the Friday special which was shrimp and scallop pasta with a perfectly creamy garlic sauce and my husband got a chicken Alfredo that is simple yet delicious and satisfying because he's picky. Definitely worth the 12 minute drive from Morro Bay!!!

  • Sep 09, 2016 by Sarah S.

We are from Bakersfield and this Italian restaurant has the best chicken parmigiana I have ever ever ever had! There are many authentic old Italian restaurants in Bakersfield and none of them hold a candle to the food here. They also have excellent service.!

  • Sep 03, 2016 by Carrie Z.

We have never been disappointed or unhappy with the food or the service! Such a creative menu and welcoming atmosphere! Gluten free options make this one of favorites for Los Osos, a don't miss!A++++ Thank You Jimmy Bump, we want to meet you !

Great Family run business with a menu to keep you happy. You never leave hungry. Only thing that may be missing are a couple Italian minstrels and you have the atmosphere of Italy.

  • Aug 15, 2016 by Lila A.

Great food! We stayed in Avila beach and drove 15 minutes.  Quaint place, great service! We will come back next time we are in the neighborhood!

  • Aug 11, 2016 by Jay Y.

I went to the Pasta House with high expectations after reading a lot of great reviews....and it was ok. I was excited to try their Chicken Marsala and Canneloni and it was good but nothing spectacular. I was disappointed about  the portion size of the food though, it was small and I thought it could be bigger for the price they were charging. I was still hungry after eating the dishes. The waitress and busboy were very nice.

  • Aug 10, 2016 by Michellefeast

I came here for dinner last weekend with friends for the first time, even though it's close to home. It's a little tucked out of the way but now I know it's there I'll be back. I had the special, a fettuccine pasta with shrimp and scallops. It was delicious, pasta and seafood cooked nicely and the sauce a perfect creaminess. I also had the Caesar salad. It was good but I little heavy on the dressing. Two of us had the special, the other person the lasagna. He said it was very good. The wine list is s little limited but we brought our own. The atmosphere is cozy and prices quite reasonable. Our bill for 3 came to $66.

  • Aug 07, 2016 by Bekki O.

Great service, great food and a very nice relaxing atmosphere. I also took notice that when a glass of wine is ordered that is what you get. Not a half glass, an actual full glass of wine. (I had iced tea) I point this out because restaurants I have been to are not as generous with their portions. It's refreshing to have a restaurant excel in every aspect. Cleanliness, friendliness, service, food..... We will definitely be back.

  • Jul 24, 2016 by Aaron

The pesto pasta with fettuccine was fresh and tasty, and vegetarian! They took a last minute larger reservation too. Simple and tasty!

  • Jul 07, 2016 by Patty R.

This is our favorite local place to eat.  Delicious meals everytime. I love the salad caprese.  The balsamic is thick and sweet.  Yum.  Garlic bread warm and thick and yum. I always gravitate to pasta carbanara. It is perfectly creamy with pancetta and peas.  Never a bad meal here and the staff are friendly. We love this place

  • Jun 09, 2016 by Amber U.

Walking in this is a clean but not overly done small place with 11 tables. The waitress is sweet and efficient. It quickly gets crowded and yet still moves fast! The food came very quick and was great! I had the veggie calzone and he had the chicken special. We were not disappointed. Fresh, well made, tasty goodness.

  • May 31, 2016 by Cynthia J.

Cute little home style Italian restaurant. Friendly service and good food. Get there early as they only have a few tables and can run out of popular items. If you have to wait for a table, the courtyard is a nice place to do so. The Caesar salad was delicious! I love authentic Caesars with whole anchovies. Wish I was able to try the Sunday gravy. Oh well- next time!

  • May 30, 2016 by Cyndi M.

Amazing.  Four for dinner on Saturday of Memorial weekend.  No wait.  Fresh bread and butter served promptly.  Butternut squash ravioli was good as other reviews stated.  Calamari starter was flavorful and marinara sauce it was served with was bursting with flavor. Another person in our party head lasagna with Sunday gravy meat sauce on top and said it was best lasagna ever.  The special with shrimp and bay scallops over linguini was light and seafood not at all fishy. I had the carbonara and added shrimp, the white sauce was amazing and big juicy shrimp added a nice touch. Only downfall, outdoor restroom shared by three other restaurants and only one stall each.

  • May 29, 2016 by J P.

Delicious garlic bread and caprese salad. The boys really liked their penne and sausage pasta and wife the vegetable calzone. Great ambiance with Italian music in background and red-checkered table cloths. Great for families.

me and and my family eat there offten there food is A rated with me..pasta..meatballs.spagetti every things great

  • May 27, 2016 by Leili M

The restaurant features good ol fashioned Italian meals. Red sauce is not over powering with herbs and has a light sweet edge to it. If you want lasagna and pizza, this is your spot. Lots of locals who return weekly for dinner. Service was well done with only one server so tip well.

  • May 18, 2016 by smcdermo47

Very tiny place with one server and a chef that makes you feel like you've found this secret local place back behind the Pantheon in Rome. Instead, it's on a tiny little street in Los Osos. There is a small wine selection and a menu that fits in with the character of the place. Basic, hearty Italian food with good Marinara. I also like the panceta and peas with your choice of pasta with a white cream sauce. We like the food so much that we even do take out after calling our order in.

Jimmy Bump's rates high for many reasons. Be prepared to be delighted with the quality of delicious food you are served. Flavors right out of old Italy will steal your desire to go any other place to eat. The service is out-of-the-ball-park excellent. You will not be disappointed, make every effort to go see Jim at Jimmy Bump's.

  • Apr 15, 2016 by Angela A.

Thanks to Jimmy's for being a casual and delicious place for our weekend getaway. Diana provided friendly and generous service.  The food was fresh and yummy. The special-shrimp and scallops in a white wine cream sauce was especially good and flavorful. AND, the cannoli was devine!!! Grazie

  • Apr 14, 2016 by lizpetbiz

We are relatively new residents to the area and are working our way through the local eateries. Jimmy Bump's is at the top of our list for good food, pleasant atmosphere, cleanliness, and good service, plus reasonable prices for the quality and portions. On our most recent visit, we had the butternut squash ravioli, and it was excellent. This place has been a repeat visit for us and each time we have ordered something different and it was consistently good. Looking forward to trying more items on their menu!

Absolutely perfect. Adorable little restaurant with great staff. Will return!!!

  • Mar 14, 2016 by Martin T.

We moved into Los Osos this weekend. Luckily we found Jimmy Bump's right down the street, the parking lot was full so we stopped in. Warm, friendly, and delicious. Perfect to fill that Italian craving even if you don't have one. Defiantly worth a meal, this is a "family place" not the Olive Garden. ....take the cannoli.     Since writing the review above we have been back to Jimmy's probably 15 times. We have not been disappointed, ever.

  • Mar 03, 2016 by ayseak

We found out about Jimmy bumps last year, and just went back; just a charming family place, and well priced italian food; One again, we had the sunday gravy on the pasta of our choice, and one member of our table had the Vodka sauce on pasta; really good!! Old style family ambience and service. Whenever we go to Los uses, this is where we will be going!!

  • Mar 02, 2016 by Rick G.

Great meal and service! The ravioli and the baked ziti with Italian sausage were superb. Especially great was the mozzarella tomato salad.

  • Mar 01, 2016 by Simpson M.

First time experience for take out.  Food had flavor.  Garlic bread was good.  We ordered Alfredo, spaghetti, eggplant with pasta.  Good flavor a but inconsistent portions.  $12 for. Very small portion...

Hands down the best calamari I've ever had! My boyfriend and I decided to try something new for Valentine's Day and this was a pleasant surprise. I honestly feel like you can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but I'd definitely recommend the butternut squash ravioli!

  • Feb 04, 2016 by Kristina V.

Had the calzone again. Followed with cheese cake. Soooo good. Never a disappointment.  Great food. Great service.

  • Jan 28, 2016 by DonaldYokum

As a lover of Italian cuisine, I wasn't sure what to expect from what was obviously a restaurant catering to local families in a relatively out of the way location like Los Osos. The décor and atmosphere of the place is definitely "at home", very pleasant and friendly, and I was surprised to see so many customers present on a mid-week evening. I soon found out the reason. Surveying the menu, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the prices for just about all of my favorite dishes were quite moderate, and the wine list, though abbreviated, had a good selection at very reasonable cost. I chose a bottle of Chianti, which proved to be a very good representative of its variety. My food selection was the fettucine Alfredo, accompanied by a Caesar salad. The salad dressing was very nicely prepared, and I was pleased to find a plump anchovy riding on the lettuce. The sauce for the Alfredo was perfection, evoking memories of my last visit to Alfredo's in Rome! The fettucine was perfectly al dente; someone in the kitchen knows how to cook pasta. My partner chose the eggplant, and was more than pleased by the sauce and the consistency of the serving. She favored me with a bite, and it was a treat! Throughout the meal, the service was very friendly and attentive, and it was obvious that this was an establishment that was extremely customer friendly. If you're in the area, and love well prepared cucina Italiano, get yourself to Jimmy Bump's!

Wonderful! Consistently delicious main course, veggies, and desserts. Personally, I am picky about veggies but never hesitate to order them for a side choice. Staff is delightful! Would highly recommend the drive to Los Osos.... Definitely worth it!

I really liked everything; went a few times!! My guests loved it too!!

  • Jan 07, 2016 by Margaret C.

Spumoni me again! Perfect size after the very  generous chicken broccoli penne pasta special we had. The minestrone was rich thick and full of flavor with a side of garlic bread that was par excellence!

  • Jan 07, 2016 by Alex E.

Really great food and service. Very cozy and cute atmosphere. We ended up here by chance and were very pleased. The three other people I was with and I really enjoyed our meal here. We are from out of town and highly recommend checking out this local joint.

We love Jimmy Bumps! Very affordable, great food, great service! Highly recommend the puttenesca and chicken parmigiana. Great tiramisu!

  • Dec 03, 2015 by Austin A.

Great little restaurant!! Very nice and friendly staff!! The chicken parmigiana was delicious!! And the free spumoni shooter if you check in was a perfect treat with a cup of coffee! First time there and it will not be my last

  • Dec 03, 2015 by Madison A.

The spaghetti with marinara is amazing! Cute little restaurant, nice staff! :) make sure to check in for the free spumoni shooter, they're great!! Definitely will come back again for more tasty pasta!

Very good lasagna covered in their excellent Sunday gravy sauce. Also  good reviews from others in our group regarding the eggplant parmesan and the Sunday special,( although I thought the chicken in penne with gorgonzola sauce was far over-dosed with garlic, my wife really liked it).  We both thought the tomato/basil/mozzarella salad included liberal use of one of the best basalmic vinegars ever. The service was friendly and not bad on timing. Only the inadequate wine list prevents a 5 star rating. Everything is just "house wine" and the server did not even know what brand of wine it was.  It was truly unremarkable. I should have asked if brining in my own bottle and paying a corkage fee is an option for the future.

Nice resturant. Food was good but not amazing. Kids menu in small dishes. Service is little slow althought the place was empty.

  • Nov 22, 2015 by Toni S.

Lovely restaurant.  Really great service.  I had their meatballs...made in house.  Very tasty and just a hint of spicy .. Would like to return to try some of their many sauce choices.

My man and I just moved to central coast and to Los Osos and found this place on our first night in town. Have been back a few more times in the few weeks we have been here. It's a sweet little small town place with friendly staff and yummy comfort Italian food. I have had the spaghetti with sunday gravy, spaghetti and meatballs and fettuccini alfredo which was a nice not thick and gummy typical alfredo..very light, creamy and garlicky. Loved it. I have had the italian salad before but tonight I opted for the caprese..and boy did I want to lick the plate clean. The BEST caprese I have ever had. The creamy mozzarella, tomatoes were perfect amount..but the thick balsamic "dressing" drizzled all over it was DEVINE! It was sweet rather than vinegary.I think I lapped up every drop with the last of the garlic bread. The waitress there is super sweet and we feel right at home there.  I like to cap it off with the mini spumoni. I am sure we will have tried everything on the menu soon enough!!

Our large group appeared after an event without reservations. The wait for a table was a long one - the dining room is pretty limited in size. Service was polite (too rushed for separate checks but that was OK) and efficient. Waitress (and probably owner) was polite and considerate. Here is the best part - the food was well above average for each of the numerous different dishes we tried. Not fabulous - but better than good - and all entrees were under $20 - many under $15. Wine list is limited but the prices were quite fair for very drinkable wine. We'll probably go back before long.

  • Nov 08, 2015 by Amy S.

First visit here and it seems like a solid place. I was with a larger group, so we kind of overwhelmed the place on a Sunday evening, but the one gal serving handled everything very well. Prices are all reasonable. I had the cannelloni - it was pretty good, though it seemed the sauce held more flavor than the meat inside the pasta tubes. I kept wanting the meat to have a bit more spice. Everyone's dishes looked great, and I'll be back for the butternut squash ravioli and shrimp primavera. And I think I can honestly say I've never had spumoni, but since it was a yelp deal, I gave it a shot. That's pretty darn tasty! A nice little cap to the enjoyable evening.

Great food, fast service and friendly environment. Food has been hot and everything we have tried is yummy

  • Oct 26, 2015 by Jan Y

The food is great. That is an established fact. So I'm telling you about the atmosphere. Nothing fancy; just authentic. We're in America, obviously, but the feeling is just like the family restaurant we were told to visit in Naples (the Italian Naples). Easygoing, supportive of good times with style. Every time we've been in.

  • Oct 14, 2015 by TERI S

I was pleasantly surprised that the food was as good as it was. They had a nice selection for our club members and it was yummy.

My post in the FB group "Central Coast Foodies" tonight:
Tired, didn't want to cook or wander outside of Los Osos tonight, and Jimmy Bump's comfort food made me happy...again. Am trying no carbs, so had the eggplant parm with vegies, salad and Peachy Canyon zin...they really are a sweet, friendly little place

  • Sep 28, 2015 by Chess S.

I had the chicken parm. and my wife had the chicken with penne and creamy marinara. Both were delicious and the service was great. The menu wasn't huge and you felt like they focused on the things they did well. Highly recommend!

  • Sep 26, 2015 by CentralCoastWine

I have been here many times, and I love the food. Sometimes it takes awhile to get your food, but it is well worth the wait. I love their Garlic Bread. I like to order some to go, even if I just ate dinner there. My favorite things to get are Linguini with Clams or Spaghetti with their Meat Sauce. I also love their Pesto. The Tiramisu will have you licking the plate afterwards.

  • Sep 24, 2015 by Chasmosis

A little old school Italian pasta place. Great food. Very fresh and tasty! Quaint setting clean and friendly service. Will definitely go back. Don't let the name fool ya !

  • Sep 23, 2015 by Cynthia M.

Went there last night for my birthday.  Upon entering we were told there were no calzones or pizzas.  Apparently someone had just ordered 10 pizzas to go, and so no one else could get a pizza that night.  Strange, but ok, I like pasta too. On to the meal: I had the pesto fettuccine.  Once I doused it in red pepper flakes, parmesan cheese, salt and pepper, it was pretty tasty.  Without those additions it was bland. My dad had angel hair with sunday gravy.  He liked it. My kiddo had the kids pasta with butter.  She liked it. That is all.

  • Sep 16, 2015 by David Agredano

This was some of the best traditional italian I have ever had. Wife had the spaghetti with the Sunday gravy, daughter had the pizza and I had the lasagna. All top notch.

  • Sep 15, 2015 by Shannon A.

We drove to Los Osos from Paso Robles just because of the great reviews. We were in search of a nice, traditional Italian meal and those seem to be hard to find lately.  We were so happy that we followed the advice of the reviewers, because for authentic Italian, it doesn't get better than this.  I ordered the spaghetti with Sunday gravy (meat sauce) and the aroma immediately brought me back to grandma's kitchen where she cooked her meatballs in sauce all day.  The sauce was full of flavor, nice amount of garlic, and meaty enough that it didn't need meatballs.  My husband had the lasagna, and he said it was one of the best he's had.  I took a bite of my daughter's pizza, and it was also delicious.  The bread that came with dinner was fresh and warm, such a nice start to the meal.  I do think next time we go we will order the garlic bread.  The table next to us did and it looked and smelled amazing!  The prices are affordable, and the servers were very attentive.  We can't wait to go back, it is worth the drive over.

An Amazing surprise. Quality beyond expectations! Meat balls were firm and delicious and the marinara was thick and spicy; some of the best I ever had. The sour dough garlic bread was perfectly prepared. The chicken parmigiana was extremely moist and delicate. Very good service. I will be back. Highly recommend.

  • Sep 06, 2015 by Megan R.

This place was incredible! Must order the garlic bread! I love how you can almost create your own pasta with all of the sauce options! A must have!

  • Sep 01, 2015 by Linda G.

Wonderful place...wonderful people! The butternut squash raviolis were amazing. Service was great, staff was very friendly. We did just about everything we could think of this day from visiting old friends, wine and olive oil tasting, shopping, hiking, and finally to Montana De Oro State Beach for the sunset. We were tired and hungry. Stopping here was the perfect end to the perfect day. Yum and yum! We will be back!

I have been camping and vacationing in Los Osos/ Morro Bay for many years. I've had a lot of great surprises and Jimmy Bumps is one! The lot was empty and I know we where ahead of the early birds. Our waitress was lovely. The food was sooo sooo sooo good. I had the special and My mom had the pesto shrimp. The seafood was so fresh.

    Incredible Italian restaurant

  • Aug 12, 2015 by Kimberly B.

We stayed in Los Osos at an AirBnB and this was recommended highly on Yelp. Since we could walk there, it was a no brainer. The place is a hole-in-the-wall that God probably pass up if not for the reviews. Thankfully we took a chance! This hubs had linguine with red clam sauce and it was a-mazing. Garlicky, clammy goodness. Delicious. I had lasagna - I love lasagna and yet I'm picky about it. The sauce was so good but it wasn't the best lasagna I've had. We also ordered a side of meatballs for our daughters and the hubs and I kept scooping them up with the delicious bread. In short - if you're in the are and looking for really good Italian, I wholly recommend it. As we didn't eat in and the hubs walked to pick it up, I can't speak to service.

On a recent visit to Los Osos I visited Jimmy Bumps. Wonderful local mom & pop Italian restaurant. Great food, service and price.

  • Aug 11, 2015 by Glo V.

First, let me start by saying I am the pickiest eater on the face of the earth. If it isn't allergies, it's a texture thing, or a finicky preference on flavors (I am a plain Jane, hold the seasoning). I don't even like ketchup for goodness sake, a detail to be   noted. Now, rewind to a year ago when I first visited Los Osos from LA. I was starving on this particular Saturday afternoon, so I  turned to Yelp to find a nearby place. My coworker and I ended up here. We loved how small the place is (something to note if your party is large, maybe call ahead?) And the décor is adorable, like that one aunt's house who decorates her kitchen with knick knacks and what not. Anyhow, on to what matters. I ordered a salad, mozzarella sticks, and penne with Alfredo sauce. It was perfect! So much better than Olive Garden (be kind, I'm not a connoisseur of Italian food, remember I'm picky and if I don't like ketchup, I certainly am not fond of things with red sauce). I actually ate ALL of my food and I never finish even close to half anywhere else. I even ventured to try the marinara that came with my cheese sticks. And it is life changing. I hate me some tomatoes, but something in their home made sauce keeps me pushing my boundaries. Needless to say, we were back that very Monday to introduce more coworkers to the perfection that is Jimmy Bumps. We all began dining here religiously (on a weekly basis) because everything is so tasty. Group faves include lasagna, linguine with white clam sauce, cannelloni, and pretty much any special on the white board. Their garlic bread is crack, but so is their complimentary warm bread. Be sure to try the meatballs, I hate meatballs and those are delicious haha. If you can get me to like something, it certainly is special enough to write an essay ;) Honestly we have eaten and loved everything both on and off the menu (referring to the daily white board specials). The only thing we have come short on trying is the pizza because the others are too tempting to pass. Price wise, you cannot beat Jimmy Bump's menu. Such impeccable dishes at reasonable prices. To the point that, after having frequented Jimmy Bumps, I have the hardest time going to places like Olive Garden and paying more for pasta dishes that pale in comparison. In fact, funny story... one night we were around the OG on LOVR because of a Target mission (unfortunately) settled and thought to eat there. We all hated our food. Literally. Whole dinners gone to waste. Jimmy Bump's ruined our lives, we are officially pasta snobs now (thanks Jimmy, it surely is a good thing). But our favorite part of frequenting the Bumps (yes, we affectionately nicknamed the place) is that during our year or so being out of town workers, Diana has given us the best hospitality of any other establishment on the central coast. We seriously plan our visits around her work schedule. We call ahead to see who answers the phone, and that's what determines if we dine in or order take out. We will be sad to leave town and return to SoCal this September, but rest assured monthly staycations will be in the works just to come,  grab a bite to eat, and get a friendly hello from Diana :) So basically, if you read this whole thing, you're a champ. And you should reward yourself with a nice meal at the Bumps. Tell Diana we sent you. Give Jimmy our compliments. -Gloria, Ryan, Nicole, and the two Randy's

Let me start off by saying that I have been going to this restaurant for over 10 years now, and it only continues to get better! From the food, to the excellent service-- you just cannot go wrong here. I have tried many items on the menu, but I have stayed faithful to my linguine and clams with white sauce. SO GOOD! Jim is head chef in the back, and always makes it a priority to come out and chat with his guests when time allows, and I personally think that is great service. Diana is one of the waitresses there, and also part owner I believe. She is always so sweet and bubbly, and makes your experience so good you would want to come back just to see her! If you haven't tried out this restaurant, take my advice and please do! You will not be disappointed :)

  • Aug 08, 2015 by L N.

I only eat there when the lady owner has the day off. But the food is very good for small town restaurant.

  • Aug 06, 2015 by AquaticKitty

The food is great and the price is fair! Never any wait at night!!! The wait staff is most gracious...

  • Aug 06, 2015 by gadams84

I always try to eat at a non chain local mom and pop restaurant. Jimmy Bumps more than fits the bill. I went early at around 5 p.m. on a weeknight. There were several other customers but not crowded at all. The salad, bread, and spaghetti with meat sauce were delicious. For dessert a scoop of spumoni ice-cream. Service was excellent and the price very fair. The only thing missing was an expresso!!

  • Jul 26, 2015 by Marti H.

We were staying in Los Osos, looking for a good restaurant here or Morro Bay, and the reviews on Jimmy Bumps looked so good we thought we'd try it. And praise the Lord we did! Thank you reviewers, you guys were spot on with this place. Small Italian hole in the wall place with delicious food! Garlic bread: perfect (not too greasy) on ciabatta bread Homemade lasagna: very good, marinara sauce was delicious and perfectly spiced (definitely homemade) Special Shrimp and Bay Scallop Linguini: my husband said "so wonderful, best pasta dish I've ever had!" Sauce was the perfect amount of sauce for the noodles and balanced very well with flavors. Definite must have. Butternut Squash Ravioli: rich and delicious! Pesto sauce was a perfect pairing with the squash. Super yummy!! The wait was 20-30 minutes but they got us in before 10, but we would have waited an hour easily for this place. Our server, Diana, was sweet and attentive. She gave good advice on the food and made the experience perfect. One of the owners came out and said hi, as well. You can tell they are proud of their food and it shows :) Thanks for the recommendation fellow Yelp-ers. Passing it along to the next vacationers to come along :)

  • Jul 20, 2015 by Ray K.

This neighborhood restaurant is perfect as it is. It isn't, nor does it try to be, overly pretentious or exclusive in anyway. There are plenty of those around and they are usually mediocre. At Jimmy Bump's, It is all about simple dishes at a modest cost and hometown service. Thanks to the entire "crew" at Jimmy Bump's for keeping it real!

  • Jul 17, 2015 by Eric G.

Very good meals I just ate there and I am very full!!!! Great quality and amazing service, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

Nice family owned Italian restaurant in Los Osos. Highly recommend the pesto, house made bread, and any pizza.

  • Jul 11, 2015 by Edward H.

My girlfriend and I ended up here at the recommendations of our AirBNB  host while we are visiting Hearst Castle. Jimmy Bump's is a very homey place. It feels like it's a family dining room of a house. Diana was a very friendly waitress and very welcoming! The atmosphere of this place is downright comfortable. If this place is closer to OC, I would be a regular. The food was great. We ordered canneloni, shrimp and scallops linguini, and garlic bread to start. The home made tomato sauce was very delicious and very hearty, the linguini white sauce - creamy yet not overwhelming. The scallops and the shrimp were succulent and moist. If you're looking for a down home Italian meal at a very affordable price, come visit Jimmy Bump's.

  • Jul 11, 2015 by Angela G.

This is definitely a worthy dining experience. The atmosphere is very simple but the food is sophisticated and complex. The special tonight was a shrimp and scallop over linguine with a white wine cream sauce. It was hot, creamy, with a lovely presentation and perfectly prepared shrimp. The dish of the night was the butternut squash ravioli. Oh my goodness: what a divine dish! Velvety, creamy, sweet. Perfect dish. For an appetizer, get the garlic bread which is a perfectly buttered and broiled focaccia. The pasta fagiole ("fazool") is perfect! The dessert selections include cheesecake, tiramisu, Spimoni and...wait for it...cannoli. Yes. Cannoli. We will be back.

  • Jul 10, 2015 by Me O.

Hands down this is the best Italian food I've ever had here in the States! This is what Italian food was meant to be... And the service is pretty great too, I can hardly wait to come back. Be sure and get something with their sunday gravy, it is everything you could hope for an Italian sauce!

  • Jul 07, 2015 by Susan Rincon

We have loved every single meal for years at Jimmy Bumps ! There are fantastic specials every night but we especially enjoy the chicken marsala and canneloni too! The service is great and Jim is the perfect chef and host!

This is a gem of a find! Truly committed to great traditional Italian cuisine! I would suggest the Eggplant Parmesan! Service is personable and friendly! Worth the drive from San Luis Obispo or anywhere else!

  • Jun 17, 2015 by Aubree C.

We had a lovely dinner here. The service was very friendly and the food was amazing! I got the butternut squash ravioli which was rich and delicious. My boyfriend got the chicken parmesan and he loved it. Thank you Jimmy Bumps for making our night out so enjoyable.

  • Jun 14, 2015 by Betsy F.

We go there quite often. It has a nice homey atmosphere "where everybody knows your name". I usually get the same thing which is the eggplant Parmesan.  I have found it to be the best around and am constantly trying it wherever we go and comparing it but so far nothing as good.  Just the right crisp on the outside and soft inside. Two layers with cheese in between make it deliciouso! My husband and I often split the antipasto misto for salad which is delicious with combination of salad, finely sliced salami and cheese with marinated artichoke hearts, garbanzo beans. I would highly recommend either of these items as well as their Sunday gravy sauce.

  • Jun 10, 2015 by Rachel B.

Great food and thoughtful service! This cute little restaurant is nestled in the middle of a neighborhood in Los Osos. We thought we had made a wrong turn trying to find it, but sure enough, there it was! The bread they brought to the table was tasty, and there was olive oil and balsamic to dip. I had the pesto with fettuccine. The pasta was slightly overcooked, but the sauce was fantastic. My husband had Sunday gravy with tortellini. Had he not filled up on their yummy bread, he would have easily finished the  whole thing! The server was delightfully charming. Prices were wonderful! If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely be back!

  • May 29, 2015 by S. V.

Ok seriously. GO HERE. Go here very hungry and mentally prepared to have your taste buds ravished. Forget that you ever heard of the travesty that is Olive Garden. We are lifelong Los Ososians but for some reason never thought to try this place. So tonight we did, and it has become my new favorite restaurant in the city. Walking in alone was a positive experience, nearly every table was full (always a good sign at dinner time!) but not to the point of being crowded or overly noisy. Its just one medium sized room full of tables, but they managed to make it feel spacious and not cramped at all. And the unmistakable aroma of darn good Italian food hugged you as you walked in. We were seated right away, and ordered the mozzarella sticks for an appetizer. They came shortly, along with fresh hot bread and butter. There isn't much to say about mozzarella sticks in general, besides the fact that they are heaven on earth. But these were, and I quote my dinner companion, "the best mozzarella sticks I have ever had." I agreed. And we have had more than our fair share. There were 8, with a bowl of hot marinara sauce to dip them in. For dinner I ordered the Mannicotti, which was heavenly. I was worried it wouldn't be enough since there were only two served to me, but I was absolutely stuffed when we left. My companion got the calzone, which was a work of doughy, yeasty, buttery art. It was amazing. Really. Amazing. Their marinara sauce tasted homemade and had the wonderful flavor of fresh garlic. Everything was amazing. We ordered the canolli to go, and it came with TWO! I cannot attempt to describe the bliss that was in that take out box, so just go try them for yourself. I am going to go and slip away into a food-coma now, so goodbye. Go there, and thank me later. That is all.

  • May 25, 2015 by Steve R

We went got dinner about 5:30 pm on a weeknight. The server was very nice and did a great job. I had a salad and lasagna. I don't think the lasagna was freshly made. It had that " just warmed up " taste as though it was taken from a pan , doused with some sauce, and placed in a warmer. My wife had cannelloni and she enjoyed it. Maybe I just caught a bad day

  • May 19, 2015 by Andy Parsons

Order take out while staying @backbay inn. Great fresh food, and fast friendly service! We had pizza pasta and ice cream and tiramisu which was delish!

  • May 13, 2015 by Judy I.

I've been going to Jimmy Bumps for quite a few years and it has been getting better and better!  Always fresh food and fast, friendly service!  I love the Chicken Parmigiana.

  • Apr 27, 2015 by harold b

Appears this place has changed hands in the past few years, for the better. Always great meat pasta sauce, very nice canneloni, very good Italian salad dressing. Prices are low, wine selection excellent, service first rate. Mostly locals, as it resides in an off-the-path locale. Try their lasagna, and several chicken dishes. I'd go back, just for the spumoni! A plus will be the still-under construction new sushi restaurant in their shared courtyard, replacing the long-famous 10th Street Grill that recently folded. Should bring in a stronger traffic flow for all of the 3 restaurants in the courtyard, and offer more choices for customers.

  • Apr 27, 2015 by Terry F.

For a small town restaurant on a backside street, this place has a pretty groovy vibe about it, and the food is well portioned and very tasty. I'm not sure who Jimmy Bump is, but the place reminds me of one of those mobster restaurants where they conduct their 'business'. I came with a friend for dinner. We shared the mussel special. It had tons of mussels in a strong wine tomato sauce. Besides it being too salty, it was overall a good dish. I got the eggplant parmesan and my friend had the butternut squash ravioli. Both dishes were home made, and they came out pretty fast, even though they were crowded. We were able to get a free dessert by checking in on yelp, which made our dinner that much better. I'll be coming here again, and next time I plan to try the calamari and spaghetti with meat sauce.

  • Apr 22, 2015 by Brittany T.

We live in Los Osos and have passed by this place countless times but finally went in a few days ago and we were pleasantly surprised! The hostess/waitress was so nice and accommodating, even though she was working the whole room. We ordered the mozzarella sticks as an appetizer and they were very good. In addition, I had the Carbonara and it was very good.   The only reason I give a four star is because the calamari was okay and I wish there was more bread that was given to the tables. Perhaps it was just our table, but we only received four small pieces of bread for the olive oil and vinegar. I would HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone though looking for a good Italian place in the area.

  • Mar 23, 2015 by Gene H

This is a local place but the Italian food is quite good and they have specials most every night. The Tiramisu dessert is one of the best we ever had. The wine selections are reasonable and service excellent.

  • Mar 22, 2015 by Occie L.

We were visiting from out of town and this place was recommended by our hotel.  We went on Saturday night and I have to say that EVERYTHING from the friendly service to the perfectly recommended wine, to the fresh salad , to our hot scrumptious entrees , to the delicious homemade cannoli were exceptional!  This is my first review, I felt I needed to thank them somehow. Its rare ( sadly) to leave an establishment truly satisfied and happy with everything! I hope this little business thrives and we will definatly be returning every time we are in the area :)

  • Mar 17, 2015 by Kerry S

Affordable and great food. Pasta mostly, so watch your carbs. They have vegetarian and gluten free. Their meat sauce is great. Service good. Small place with a hand full of table. Wine selection is decent. Spaghetti and home made lasagna are very good.

Jimmy Bumps is one of the great hidden secrets in the Morro Bay area. Tucked away on a side street, it is mostly attended by Los Osos, Morro Bay, and San Luis Obispo locals. The food is superb, the marinara sauce the best I have ever tasted, the service excellent. The eggplant parmesan and the raviolis are our personal favorites. Their salads are crisp and their soups nice and hot. Their beer and wine selections, although not extensive, are quite adequate. Be sure and try their tiramisu if you have room for it after dinner.

Great little restaurant in Los Osos. One hostess/waitress and the owner is the cook. Can't get much better! The toasted ravioli appetizer was delicious. Chicken and fettuccine were both cooked perfectly and the pesto sauce was great. Pine nuts were a great addition to the sauce! Butternut Squash ravioli was also excellent! To finish the meals we were treated to Spumoni shooters for checkin in on Yelp. Great way to end the night. Will definitely return for the good food and good service.

The best little Italian ristorante around.  We have eaten in many Italian ristorante and just love the food and good service, friendly staff, and affordable prices at Jimmy Bump's.   We have also been to events were the food was catered by Jimmy and the food was delicious. Simply Molto Buono!

  • Feb 26, 2015 by ayseak

Morro bay is filled with expensive sea food restaurants with a view; get rid of the view, drive 5 miles to sleepy los osos, and get some very fine old style Italian food at jimmy bumps. Not much on the outside, but charming and retro in a real way, on the inside; The short, classic menu looks fun, but really, the fun comes with the pasta. The "sunday Gravy" is the best red meat sauce i have had in a restaurant... including san Francisco!! and you get to pick the pasta it coats, including ravioli. Everyone at our table finished it to the last tomato, And dinner was, dare i say it, cheap!! what fun. On our must -go list, now, every time we go to Morro.

My wife and I went here for dinner. We are from out of town, but found the reviews favorable. The service was great, considering there was only one poor waitress for the whole dining room. She did a wonderful job despite her work load. Food was delicious. We had a calzone and butternut squash, and neither disappointed us. Lots of flavor and quality ingredients made this a great meal. The only negative on the experience was the decor. It could really use an upgrade, however I highly recommend this place.

My husband and I have been coming here since it opened and always have a great meal that's reasonably priced.  I would recommend the Eggplant Parmesean or pizza.

  • Feb 13, 2015 by Luanne G.

We were taking a class at a shop next door so thought we would try the food!!! It was fabulous!! We started with the mozzarella sticks...the sauce that came with them was very flavorful! I had the butternut squash ravioli. The sauce was so creamy it just melted!!! The ravioli a were cooked perfectly and just the right amount of sweetness. The husband did the spaghetti and meatballs. It was steaming hot and the meatballs were obviously home made! For dessert we had the cheesecake ( nothing to write home about) and the cannoli! They were fabulous!!! I highly recommend this if you're looking for a quaint, tasty place to eat!!!

We go there often. It's consistently delicious, friendly, much like how Grandma used to cook. And, it's reasonably priced and the service is exceptional. I love Jimmy Bumps!

Where to start with this place? The ambiance at Jimmy Bump's is perfectly Los Osos Italian! The staff is beyond attentive and considerate. We had the the beautiful blonde lady with glasses help us and she was SO ON IT. We eat vegan and they went out of their way to accommodate us. I was blown away by service, but best of all - the food is amazing!! I highly recommend for locals and visitors to check out this place. Vegans - this is a friendly place that will make it work and make it GOOD.

Absolutely amazing place!!! Our favorite place for special events or a quite, romantic dinner. The food never disappoints and the service is always great!

  • Jan 19, 2015 by Danna W

This little place has zero ambience, but the food is hearty and tasty. Basic Italian fare (no frills with the food either), but always consistently good and a good value. Not sure if they take reservations, but we've always gotten a table without them.

  • Jan 11, 2015 by foxieCalifornia

As a local, have tried everything available, including Morro Bay. We hadn't been here for a while and decided to try it again. Better than remembered from the past. The pasta dishes are all good, and the house salad is much better than more elegant and expensive places. It's definitely not fancy, but clean and good service. Prices are very reasonable, even the wine. Mostly locals I think, but then that's what there is most of in Los Osos. Very satisfying, reasonably priced and beats cooking.

For anyone with fond memories of the old Angelo's in SLO (Pizza, Pasta & Amore), before the unfortunate sale to the owner who eventually ran it into the ground, you'll find much to love at Jimmy Bump's.   For those without such memories, it still delivers classic American Italian dishes at an entirely reasonable price point.

  • Dec 27, 2014 by Shari M.

We love this place. Great atmosphere, fantastic food and good service. We live nearby so go here frequently. Some of our favorites include the roasted red peppers with anchovies, the butternut squash, the manocotti and the carbonaro. The house wine rotates and so we get to try new reds when we dine here. They have always been excellent wines. Sometimes they are slow if the place is packed but that just goes with being a tiny restaurant. We go there on off nights and get perfect service every time.

Best italian food in SLO county. Reasonable prices and quality food in a homey enviroment. Get the garlic bread and toasted ravioli, you won't be disappointed.

  • Nov 05, 2014 by Saskia S.

I definitely would have given it an extra star if the service would have been great ! The food is good , great variety of pasta dishes and appetizers.  Ambiance is very casual and cozy. The waitress either didn't like her job or was in a bad mood.  No smiles , not very friendly unfortunately. Friendly service brings in customers , even if the food is not 5 stars !  They were out of Tiramisu  as well . ( did I spell that correct ) ?

Close to where we live, you bet we know the best places. Jimmy's is quaint, quiet and very friendly. The food is outstanding. Don't miss any pasta dish with "Sunday Gravy". Our favourite is tortellini with Jimmy's wonderful Pesto sauce. If you are in Los Osos, don't miss this one, or "Bumpy's" as we call him. Food is great pricing is very reasonable.

  • Oct 28, 2014 by Thoughtfulpeeps

A charming little, old style, homey Italian restaurant. The food is fresh and good. In a town with not many good restaurants this is certainly the go to place. Nice service, varied menu, good value. Nice hot bread served before the meal. Salads large and fresh. Entrees piping hot and tasty. Nothing fancy...just simple and good.

  • Oct 12, 2014 by Kalani A.

I love this place. Although small and tucked away in Los Osos it offers the best Italian food in the county. The meat sauce is the best. The eggplant parmigiana is simply my favorite and it comes with a side of spaghetti. The have a delicious house salad, always fresh with tomatoes, red unions and garbanzo beans for a little over 3 dollars.  The service is fast but not rushed. Many people enjoy a nice glass of local wine before dinner. Again it's the place where the locals eat so it can get crowded but well worth it.

My husband and I have been searching for an honest to goodness momma's cooking Italian Restaurant.......and we have found it!  We felt like family from the moment we walked through the door, the staff was VERY nice and very efficient.  We weren't rushed but the service was prompt, no waiting for cold food. Everything was freshly made and the sauces are perfect!  I had the special my husband had the spaghetti with meat sauce, we started with calamari, and ended with tiramisu and a bottle of pinot noir to tie it all together!  Everything was perfect the tiramisu was superb!  It felt like home and we are now making this our monthly date night spot!

Food is delicious. I especially enjoyed the lasagna and penne pasta. I look forward to trying more dishes. Service is average and a little unfriendly towards those with disabilities as they offered no solution when we struggled to get our disabled father through the door.

I gave it a 5 star because the food was great and the service was too.  We had 10 in our party and the waitress got everyone's entree correct.  She even gave us separate checks for each couple which was so helpful. I ordered the butternut squash ravioli and it was awesome.  Wish I lived in that area as I would be frequenting it often. Prices were great and the owner even came out to see if the food was good.  That was very special!

My wife and I have frequented this region of the CA Central Coast for several years and try to eat somewhere new each trip and catering to locally owned restaurants. For our "carbo loading" for the SLO Marathon, we stumbled onto Jimmy Bump's for a pasta dinner. We were not disappointed. The food quality, friendly service, cleanliness, menu variety, price value and ambiance were all outstanding. We were somewhat apprehensive when we parked on this small side street of Los Osos and the exterior of Jimmy Bump's looked as maybe we made a mistake with our selection, but we were pleasantly surprised with the opposite. Our pasta meals were cooked perfectly, the sauces were definitely representative of years of working towards perfection, and the service was friendly and very attentive. When we left, the regulars started showing for their weekly Saturday night dinner (ordering the ususal!) to Jimmy Bumps, which told us this is that Jimmy Bump's will definitely get a repeat visit from us in the future!

  • Apr 29, 2014 by Saturday night a to Z.

Jimmy Bumps is a very small restaurant.  That's the only reason I can think of to explain our waitress's desire to get us out of there so quickly!!  She took our wine order as we were being seated.  One minute later she was back with our drinks and wanted to take our dinner order.  We hadn't even opened our menus yet!  Our salads came right away, and then a few minutes later our entree showed up.  There wasn't enough room on the table for dinner plates, salad plates, and bread plates but the courses just kept coming.   The food was only okay (as you can imagine, seeing as how it only took a few minutes to throw together).  And I have to mention that we were the only diners there under the age of 75.  Maybe we'll wait a few decades before we try it again.

My husband and I come here twice a year when we visit our daughter. We love this place! Great food and friendly service! It's a small quaint atmosphere with tasteful hand painted walls and subtle twinkle lights that accent the dining room. The wait staff is friendly and efficient. I love being able to see the chef working through the service window. This time we started with the Caprese salad and fresh baked baguette. It was so fresh and light! My husband had the Chicken Parmesan with penne and Puttanesca sauce. The Puttanesca was exceptional, a perfect combination of tomatoes, Kalamata olives and capers. I had the butternut squash ravioli with basil cream sauce. Oh, I can't tell how good it was! Creamy and light, yet rich at the same time. We finished with Tiramisu. I just had to ask if it was all made in house and it was. We have always had a good experience when we come here. I recommend it to anyone fortunate enough to be in this beautiful area of Central California. I'm a foodie and have worked in restaurants myself in the past. This place is the real deal!

  • Apr 14, 2014 by 796nicka

Jimmy Bumps offers a decent value for your itallian style cuisen. That being said there is nothing out of this world about the food. I feel that the food has a very home cooked feel to it, which tastes similar to something I would cook at home. The price however is not much more than it would cost you to make the dishes that are presented, pair that with not having to do the actual cooking and it's not all bad. There's better to be had elsewhere but at near double the price.

  • Apr 04, 2014 by Sara G.

I absolutely LOVE this place My friend and I go here on occasion and are never disappointed. I love their mozzarella sticks and their basic spaghetti and meatballs. It's so nice to get a bottle of wine, an appetizer and a delicious entree for a good price. It's also nice to see a local business maintain it's good quality and charm. The service is awesome too. There are only one or two servers working at one time but it doesn't affect the time it takes to get served. They are always really friendly and accommodating. Never had a disappointing experience here. I highly recommend Jimmy Bump's to anyone looking for a great local place to eat.

Looking for some good Italian food on the trip up to Monterey, found this place on yelp.   Very small restaurant, but the staff was attentive and got us seated quickly.   2 adult entrees and 2 kid's meals + side of garlic bread.  The sole server was busy with a large party that was there celebrating and forgot to bring my dinner salad, but as soon as I reminded her, she was very apologetic and comped my salad unsolicited.   All of the food was very good.   Very fresh and unprocessed tasting.  Great job, Bumps.

Jimmy Bumps is a small, casual, welcoming restaurant tucked back on a side street in the city of Los Osos, California. The food quality, ambiance, friendly service, menu variety and price value are all outstanding. Understand that the kitchen is patrolled by long-time Central Coast restauranteur, Jim Delmore, and he lived up to his reputation. In addition to a great menu of Italian favorites, there are several nightly specials, as well as sunset dinners served at a discount. We split a caprese salad which was as fresh as if the basil and tomatoes had just come from farmers' market. The mozzarella was delicate and a perfect compliment to the vegetables...there was balsamic vinegar and extra virgin olive oil on the table in case one wanted to add to the already dressed salad. Along with the caprese we ordered a cheese pizza piccolo (about 8"-9") that had a wonderful crust and cheese and sauce that were perfectly blended. For entrees we tried the penne with Sunday gravy (house meat sauce) and the homemade butternut squash ravioli, accompanied by a rich but delicate cream sauce. Both were absolutely delicious. Our service was prompt, friendly, and professional; timing right on; and everything came just as we ordered it and expected it. Nice choice of beers and wine at very reasonable prices. We were too full for dessert, but suspect they are of the same great quality as everything else we tried. The place is a bit hard to find but well worth the search.

Jimmy Bump's is by far the best little Italian restaurant around. Meals are always good and the portions are generous. You can see Jimmy through the service window and he always gives you a shout-out if he sees you come in. Plus, you always run into someone you know around town! Give Jimmy's a try!

We've been living in Los Osos now for 20 months. What a shame we didn't discover this wonderful little place sooner! Big time quality, ambiance and service in a small town locale. There's only ten tables but that adds to the quaintness and ambiance. Cute as a button "Italian" décor with checkered tablecloths, hand painted designs on the walls, lovely café curtains on the windows, and an immaculate clean room. The waitress was just the most efficient, friendly staff we have encountered in a long time. The whole experience felt more like you were sitting in someone's home for dinner than in a restaurant. The food was delicious and so reasonable! Served with piping hot plates (waitress used a potholder). Hubby had the special of the day which was a scallop and shrimp over pasta dish with a delicious white crème sauce. I had the lasagna with the thickest homemade meat sauce I have ever had. So yummy. The meal comes with a basket of Italian bread slices. A bowl of soup or a house side salad was only $2.50 more to add to the meal. There are lots of choices of ala carte items to add to the meal, if so desired, and a nice choice of wines by the glass or bottle as well as beer. The desserts were only $2.75 extra and it included cheesecake! We definitely will be going back. Anxious to try some of the other yummy looking entrees on the menu! Now I understand (after some of the reviews here) why some people that travel to the San Luis Obispo area make it a point to come over here!

My boyfriend and I went here for New Years Eve and loved it. It's a small local place so the decor was a bit lacking. However the food wasn't. I ordered the Butternut Squash Ravioli and my boyfriend had the special (Shrimp and asparagus in a white wine sauce) and they were both absolutely amazing. The portions were a bit smaller than I expected from an Italian restaurant, but for the price and taste I'd say it was fair. We also each got a complimentary glass of Proseco for NYE (Yum!). The wine was also well priced and they fill those glasses to the brim!

We live in Morro Bay and head to Los Osos weekly for our favorite pasta at Jimmy Bump's. We are always made to feel like family. We enjoy the "intimate", family-style dining experience they offer at Jimmy's and the food is always piping hot (so are the plates) and delicious. We've tried various different dishes - the lasagne, the butternut squash ravioli, the various specials, and our favorite - chicken with penne and a gorgonzola cream sauce. Sooo delicious!!!! The prices are fantastic and the food is consistently fresh and flavorful. We love being able to see Jimmy through the serving window while he whips up his famous dishes. And Diane, the waitress/owner, always greets us with open arms. We recommend Jimmy's to everyone.

We live in the Bay Area and have friends in Los Osos. They like us to visit but truly we hope for a meal at Jimmy Bumps place, (but don't tell my friends). Years ago when we lived in "Little Italy" in downtown Boston, we learned all about Italian food and this compares very closely to the real thing. J.B. reminds one of an intimate café where the chef is visible and the entertainment is fun. Waitstaff is always friendly and helpful, but I need no assistance finding my favorite on the menu; it's the Eggplant Parmesan. We love this place. Actually, we love our friends too. Ok, I can only review what I ate, but wow! Yum!!! For starters the garlic bread on homemade rustic sourdough was amazing...i could have eaten that all night long. Then the salad- all great greens, not a hint of iceberg, tender petite garbanzos, and red onion with a house Italian dressing. Finally the pasta- linguine, perfectly al dente, and Puttanesca sauce with rich flavorful tomatoes, tangy calmatta olives, capers, and a hint of spice for its namesake. Loved it and craving more as i think of it!

Live here in Los Osos, took us a long time to try this due to very mixed reviews from friends and neighbors. This was our 3rd time here to eat. Our same waitress each time is come to find out, the owner. First experience was just fine, second time the waitress kinda flapped the menus at us and said sit where you'd like, was pleasant enough, but since there were only 4 other people in, would have been nice to have a little more effort from her. This 3rd visit was the least attentive by far. Only 2 other people in this time, and the same lack of interest from her so sit us, she stood behind the counter and watched us walk in. Came to take our orders, period. 5 min later I had to remind her about the beer I had ordered, she said she forgot. Of the 4 of us, the 2 lasagnas were good and decent size, but the 2 specials we had were small..... 6 shrimp on a hand full of penne for $14, not worth it. Pasta is so cheap, they could have really beefed this up and made it fantastic. Compared to last times special, which was a big serving of clams and mussels on pasta for the same price, we were really disappointed with this portion size. So back to the comments made from our friends and neighbors, we see what they mean now, and probably won't go back. Too bad they can't amp this place up just a bit, it could really be fantastic with a bit more effort.

My daughter and I visited the area and heard that Jimmy Bumps was the best place for Italian food...and wow! Were they ever right! Ordered the homemade Lasagne and cheesy garlic bread. A perfect combination of marinara sauce, pasta and garlic. The service was exceptionally handled by Jen who not only kept our water glasses filled, but, ensured our food was served hot and beautifully presented. We left stuffed and happy. Many other locals came in during our visit who obviously knew the restaurant well. A very comfortable and family friendly dinning establishment. Highly recommend!

Good selection of pastas, pizzas, apps, and specials. Fried mozzarella came out hot and very cheesy, good marinara dipping sauce. Wife had manicotti, very cheesy again (they live their cheese, and so do we!) I liked the pastas because u had your choice of 6-7 noodles with about the same amount of sauces. I had the penne with vodka sauce (yum!) the pasta could have been cooked a couple more minutes but all in all good Italian food that was filling and a great value.

Jimmy is an excellent cook, especially for Italian chicken. His small place has endured for at least 9 years. Great salad dressing and various stuffed pastas. Good prices. Spotty service--had to leave once after being ignored for 10 minutes. Still would give it a chance, because of the food quality.

Good for kids, seniors and the whole family. Decent carbonara, excellent pesto and good salads. Small children's menu. Flexible ordering.

Good olde skool EYEtalian. Friendly staff. You feel like you are eating at a friends house! But they don't take credit cards, so come prepared.

Loved the service and the food---especially the toasted ravioli appetizer---and all for a very reasonable price!

Based on three things we ordered, I am giving it three stars and actually look forward to visiting and ordering other items.  I really like their spaghetti with Sunday Gravy (aka meat sauce).  You choose the sauce and the pasta. It has plenty of meat, of course, but it has the fresh taste of tomatoes and garlic and not to mention good dash of herbs.  Their meatballs were soft and very flavorful.  I could taste the cheese, I'm guessing parmesan?  Their garlic bread was so-so.  It definitely needed more butter and garlic.  In fact, I didn't need the sprinkling of cheese that was lightly melted on top.  And the bread was more of an artisan bread side, not the typical soft Italian loaf.  So if you only go for artisan-y, crusty bread, this garlic bread is for you. The waitress was kind and courteous.  I found out that they close at 8:30 on weeknights so I barely made my order in.  It has a clean and neat atmosphere, nothing too fancy, nothing too upscale, nothing too dreadful.  Dining room is small and cozy.

Went with a friend who eats here occassionally. Very casual. Friendly staff. Good service. Cash and checks are welcome but no credit cards. Food to me was just average. I had a personal pizza with meat and cheese and my friend had an antipasto salad. Wish I would have ordered the salad. The personal pizza was nothing special.

Comfort food. Most evenings in Los Osos you will only find one restaurant which is practically standing room only: Jimmy Bump's. My wife and I love the food in this great little place. Di frequently has the butternut squash ravioli and I usually order a spicy Penne Arrabiatta. Live music on Wednesday and Friday evenings. Check it out. Cash only, these days.

Was visiting friends in Los Osos and my brother took us to one of his favorite places - Jimmy Bump's Pasta House. Cute little place - bright curtains, personable staff and really good bread, roasted peppers and entrees. Entrees eaten by our team included butternut squash ravioli, pesto fettucine and chicken marsala - highly rated. Casual, good food, nice crew. An easy place to stop for dinner (and probably lunch) if passing through as we were. I suspect a bankably good meal anytime.

This is probably the best place to eat in Los Osos! It's a small quaint place that is cherry and romantic. The owner was there in the kitchen and asked about our meal before we left. He seems to really care about his customers. This was my first time eating there, but my husband has been there several times because he has been doing some work on our vacation home in the area. The food is always consistantly very good. The bread is really great. It makes me hungry just thinking about this restaurant.

We shared the roasted bell peppers and anchovies appetizer and chicken Marsala as an entree. Really great wine prices and awesome tiramisu. I'd say the bread and decor were both lacking but I loved the live entertainment of Phil Cisneros! Good date place, don't expect it to be too fancy but also don't expect to pay too much :)

Good food, OK prices. Ambiance is bad--worn booth seats, way too bright lighting. Great bread, but not flexible on orders.

Went here last night and ordered the Eggplant Parmesiana, Fantastic! Delectable! It completely melted in my mouth. The atmosphere here is warm with low lighting, very relaxing. Getting my birthday dinner here made it memorable, I look forward to returning! Be mindful this place can be pretty busy at times.

This place has a nice atmosphere and a good staff. Their Eggplant Parmesan is great. The seating is a little dingy and could definitely use a makeover, but it's fun, spacious, and has good eats. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants an good, easy Italian dinner without the hassle of going to a "nice" place and spending more money for the same food.

Love this place, love the food, the staff, love the atmosphere, love it!!!  I go here once a week, the food is great and affordable and the staff is so friendly and inviting they seem like family. When you are there, you truly are family!

The only problem is that it is a very tiny restaurant, so during your standard dinner time, there may be a little wait. I would definitely recommend trying it =)

Their butternut squash ravioli is one of the most heavenly things you can put in your mouth. Haven't tried their other dishes yet but staff was friendly and dining room comfy. Will definitely be back!

This food was pedestrian at best. Not much better than frozen Italain food from Trader Joe's. Places like this are a dime a dozen, the typical marginal Italian fare.

Jimmy Bumps serves good food. I have not had anything there that stood out as being exceptional but a few things I have tried have certainly been above average. The kids like that they can get any combination of noodle-type and…

I ordered two kids meals - one spaghetti and one Ravioli on New Years Eve, and then my husband and I went out. It was suppose to be for childern 10 and under. There was one very small scoop of spaghetti. There was a total of 8 small ravioli. When I picked the bag up, it was so light! This might feed a five year old but no way a 10 year old. It came with one piece of decent size garlic bread. I was not given the sodas that were suppose to come with the meals. On top of that the online menu stated a price of $4.79 and $4.99, I was charge $12.69. Therefore, we got a tiny bit of food with no drink and was overcharged. One of my sons ended up eating some left over pizza we had in the refrigerator . Jimmy Bump's Pasta Pronto 3212 Broad Street, Suite 140 San Luis Obispo
